Andy just might be crossing some dangerous lines in his next session with Brendon.
1Exciting
Over the next few days, Andy watched Brendon control his pain as they continued to train, only slipping some of the times, no longer trying to get himself killed. He knew Brendon was in pain, but he was also glad that he was finding it easier to cope with since he had hated seeing Brendon deal with so much hurt. He was already getting closer to the younger male, since they had things in common outside of training, things they could talk about and no matter who got hurt, or how, no grudges were ever held from any injuries that occurred in the training room.
Andy wiped the sweat from his brow as he watched Brendon making his careful moves, preparing to attack. He didn’t know if Brendon knew or not, but from the short time they had been practicing together, he had already learned the vampires mannerisms during fighting, which was a little bit of an unfair advantage. But Brendon still had his speed. He had the taser ready when Brendon lunged at him and sure enough Brendon collapsed to the ground, expecting the collapsible rob, since Andy hardly ever went for the taser. Andy took out his sword and held it against he back of Brendon’s neck. “Dead.”
“Ch-Cheater,” Brendon managed to get out as he dealt with the small shakes brought on by the high-voltage shock. He stood up with Andy’s help, after Andy had sheathed his sword, and shook his head, trying to shake off the shocks that lessened with each time.
“Deal with it, baby,” Andy grinned, emphasizing the word to provoke the side of Brendon he liked to see; the frustrated side that was determined to get Andy to drop the term.
Brendon smirked as he fought hard to keep from studying Andy’s sweat-slick skin since he was once again with a shirt as they trained. It was always so hard for him to keep from admiring the way the ink seemed to be get bolder in definition when Andy’s body was covered in sweat. But, it was even harder not to get distracted by his newfound confusion over the fact that he was finding himself somewhat attracted to the human. He didn’t know how, but he knew that somehow Andy was the reason he was dealing with his pain over Ryan better, but it wasn’t as a rebound. He just couldn’t explain it.
He shifted to one side before he used his speed to go the other way, unsheathing Andy’s sword as he got behind the human and turned the blade to Andy’s neck, trying to ignore the intensity of Andy’s scent as he put his mouth to the male’s ear. “Dead,” he whispered.
Andy closed his eyes and shivered as Brendon’s breath tickled his ear and neck. “You know, using your speed like that is considered a cheat,” he said as he swallowed, purposely making his neck press into the blade so he could figure out just how tight the blade was against his throat.
“I have to have something on you,” he said as he quietly took a deep inhale, drinking in Andy’s scent.
“That is a good point, but I have nothing on you, so it would be fair if you never used your speed,” Andy tried to sound convincing as he countered, but he felt the slight suction of air as Brendon inhaled, and he knew he was being smelled, but what for?
“You do have something on me,” Brendon said as he removed the blade and let Andy go, dancing back from him, eyeing the sword’s blade. He frowned when he saw red on the blade, recent, fresh, and looked up to see Andy turn to look at him, lifting a skeptical brow. “I cut you…”
Andy touched his hand to his neck and pulled it away, seeing the red on his fingers. “So you did,” he chuckled. “Hope you’re not hungry.”
Brendon shook his head. “I fed before I came over,” he replied as he moved back further, “but I still don’t trust myself. Can you please take care of that?”
Andy didn’t know what came over him as he moved closer to Brendon, until he had the vampire with his back against the wall. “Then maybe we should see how well you can fight when you have to deal with the smell of blood?” He questioned as he took his sword from Brendon and wrapped his own hand around the sharp blade, before pulling his hand, keeping a calm expression as the blade cut into his palm, drawing forth more blood.
Brendon’s eyes went black as he fought to hold his breath, knowing that he didn’t even need to take a breath for the rest of his life to survive, but the smell of Andy’s fresh blood was intoxicating and he wanted to smell more. He gave a forced smile as he took a step toward Andy, finding himself surprised when Andy caught his bluff and didn’t even move a muscle, except for squeezing his hand closed and opening it to make the blood pump faster to the wound. “You know, I could almost swear you’re trying to test my limits with you, Andy,” he purred, the predator in him coming out, “and I must say, you’re doing a good job.”
Andy smirked as he sheathed his sword, making a mental note to clean his blood from the blade later, and stood his ground, his blood dripping the mat-covered floor as he continued to close and open his palm. “Then why don’t you show me just how flimsy your limits are, baby,” he taunted as he took out one of the mercury stakes and twirled it to show he was tired of playing safe.
Brendon’s lips pulled back in a sadistic smile as he made the mistake of taking a deep gulp of air, flaring his hunger from non-existent to full blown starvation. “If that’s what you want, Andy, that’s what you’ll get.”
When Brendon disappeared from his line of sight, he knew what to expect, so he turned and danced away as Brendon advanced at him from behind as he had been anytime he used his speed. He smirked at the amused look in Brendon’s dark eyes as he dodged the oncoming attacks, thoroughly enjoying himself since he could tell Brendon wasn’t going easy on him either. He liked the challenge of trying to stay alive when a hungry vampire was trying to get what it wanted, his life.
Brendon looked for any weakness, any window he could find to break through Andy’s seemingly perfect defenses, but he was failing miserably. But, at the same time, he was also enjoying this thrill of hunter and prey, since he never got to play it all that much. He growled low on his throat when the stake sliced through the air, slicing his arm in the process, the mercury burning at his skin. He could tell it wouldn’t scar, but it still burned, and he healed it with a mere thought as he made another advance at Andy, only to have him once again elude him with a taunting smile.
Andy ducked under Brendon’s next attack, and as he ducked he swung his arm back, burying the mercury stake in Brendon’s thigh, making the vampire cry out in surprised pain. He turned around, so as not to keep his back to the vampire for longer than necessary, and gave a satisfied smirk when he saw Brendon glaring at him as he limped to a stop. “Wow, I was faster than you,” he mused as he slowly shifted from foot to foot, waiting for the next attack.
Brendon growled, his lips pulling back to expose his fangs, as he reached down and back, ripping the stake from his leg and let it clatter to the floor as he worked on healing the wound as he advanced on Andy. He missed grabbing hold of Andy, and cried out again when the taser, turned up a bit higher, slammed into his side, sending him to the ground. Putting all of his concentration into chasing away the shock, he recovered, startling Andy long enough to slam him into the nearest wall, both man staring at each other with eyes that were daring each other; but what were they daring each other?
Brendon grabbed Andy’s hands and held them tightly at his sides as he leaned it, tracing his tongue along the cut at Andy’s neck, a soft moan escaping his lips when he realized his blood tasted better than it smelled.
Andy gasped when he felt the tongue at his throat, his body relaxing even though it should have been tensing when there was danger this close. He didn’t know what was happening when he leaned his head to the side, exposing his neck to the hungry vampire without a second thought.
Brendon’s mouth closed over the wound, but he didn’t bite down, only slowly licked at the spot another time before he kissed it and backed away with a whispered apology.
Andy felt the weight on his mind lift, that he hadn’t realized was there, and the door swing open with Pete’s familiar growl following the sound. He shook his head as Brendon was jerked away from him and thrown into the other wall with a cry of pain that cleared Andy’s mind faster. “Pete, stop!” He exclaimed when he saw that Pete had closed the distance between himself and Brendon, and had Brendon held to the wall by his throat. “He wasn’t going to kill me!”
“What the fuck happened to your hand, Andy?” Pete demanded, holding his red eyes on Brendon, who bared his fangs at him out of instinct.
“I did it myself, Pete! He accidentally cut me and when he said he didn’t trust himself, I wanted to see how much we could both handle,” Andy explained it all as he moved closer and put his back to Brendon so he could look Pete in the eyes. “I’m being serious, Pete, let him go. He’s got more injuries than me, I know you can smell the comparison of who spilt the most blood.”
Pete shared a staring contest with Andy before he looked up to Brendon, whose eyes had returned to the soft brown they normally were, and was now looking ashamed, and upset at the same time. He stepped back and let go of his hold on Brendon’s neck, watching him land on the floor and looked to Andy. Pete turned his own eyes to Andy and he shook his head. “What the Hell were you thinking, cutting yourself, even AFTER he said he didn’t trust himself?” He demanded as he turned to face his friend.
“I told you, Pete, I wanted to see how much we could both handle,” Andy said, standing in his spot and straightening his spine to show he was not backing down from what he had decided to do. “You know yourself that if he had tried to kill me I would have done the same in self defense, and then you would have had a body to clean up. Don’t act like I can’t handle myself,” he said, his tone warning Pete that he was on the verge of touching a nerve in his friend.
Pete growled and looked at Brendon. “The next time I smell my friend’s blood on your lips, I’ll rip your fucking head off myself, got it?”
