Chapter 14- I love all my readers and reviewers. Remember that, yeah?

Mr. Way’s face was something Eva had never seen before. He was the devil about to drag his next victim into the flames. Mr. Way grabbed Eva’s arm tightly- Eva feeling the bruise already coming up. He stormed around the corner dragging Eva behind him. Eva felt an adrenaline rush and when Mr. Way stopped and turned to face her she yanked her arm out of his tight grip. Her face was redder than Mr. Way’s and her nostrils flared like she was about to breathe steam out of them. Mr. Way’s angry face almost cowered in front of hers. Eva picked up her hands and pushed him right in the chest sending him flying back.

“Don’t you ever fucking touch me again,” breathed Eva so angry she looked as if she might turn into the hulk. Mr. Way had staggered and looked angrier from his previous face. Her strength surprised Mr. Way and even herself because Eva seemed almost very placid and weak in real life like she couldn’t throw a punch. Adrenaline made her ten times stronger.

Mr Way leapt forward grabbing her arm again, but Eva hit it which made him grab her by both arms and hold her back. This prompted Eva to start kicking him which made him do something incredible. He picked her up off her feet which took Eva by surprise and opened a door that was next to them that Eva hadn’t noticed due to her fit of rage.

Mr. Way still had Eva in his arms not showing a sign of any weakness. He closed the door behind them, and Eva realised this room was the newly built soundproof room in the library that was to be used by classes watching videos.

“Put me the fuck down, or I will kick box you,” said Eva desperately as well as heatedly.

“I will only put you down if you promise to stop hitting me,” said Mr. Way irately.

Eva lent into the side of Mr. Way’s face and bit his cheek which made him give a small yelp and drop Eva. His hand was placed to the area Eva had bitten him, and Eva lunged for the door but was quickly blocked by Mr. Way. Eva tried to get through, her body which had been described as bikini model like rubbing against his frantically. Mr. Way persisted trying to block her looking her in the eyes which made Eva more desperate by the minute. Eva was so frantic to get out of the room that his attempts to block her just made her weaker. She could feel the adrenaline rushing away and she could slowly begin to feel the pain on her arm more and more by the second. Eva didn’t know what to do, her attempts of getting out failing more and more while Mr. Way grew stronger and she grew weaker.

Tired, desperate and eventually...desolate.

She fell to the ground and broke down weeping. She had failed again at keeping strong. She hated when people tried to hurt her, the pain reminding her of when her mother’s (even though she loved her mother to death) depressed states set her into a violent mood taking it out on Eva. Eva always tried to stand up for herself these days, but she had grown weaker over the years.

As Eva’s body lay limply on the ground crying, she felt a warm body by her side pick her up in their arms. The feeling was firm and protected. She could smell a smell of cologne and forest. As she cried harder, the grip adjusted and was tighter making Eva feel as if God was wrapping her up in his arms protecting her from the devil- protecting her from herself.

“I’m...so...sorry...” wept Eva her face burying into Mr. Way’s warm-hearted chest. She wanted to hear his heart to know she was alive, but her tears were too loud to hear anything.

“I’m sorry Eva,” whispered Mr. Way into her ear, his breath like drizzling dew. Eva allowed her arms to adjust so that she could wrap them around his body, and he allowed her to do so, readjusting his position so he could fit her neatly inside him like he was shielding her. They stayed in that position until the bell rang, and even then they did not move.

Eva did not want to lift her face for his chest because she did not want him to see her face covered in tears once again, but Mr. Way gently put his velvety hands on her cheeks and pulled her face away from his chest, gazing into her dark brown eyes. They did not need to say anything, because it was as if that moment said it all.

Eva pushed her body back into his arms tightening her grip before pulling away and standing up. He stood up too, and both stared at each other almost passionately, but not admitting anything, even their eyes hiding that feeling. Eva did not trust herself, so she opened the door and walked away leaving him in the room to contemplate everything that had happened.

Eva ran to the bathroom, fixed her face, and quickly headed to her next class. After calming down she wanted to almost laugh at how much of a rollercoaster Mr. Way and her went on- one minute arguing the next hugging. Eva did not know how to approach her encounter with Mr. Way, more importantly, she didn’t know how to handle Liza. The emails yesterday meant that Eva and Liza were meant to be on speaking terms on the front, and since no real argument had occurred they had to pretend they liked each other. Eva had to also pretend she didn’t hear hers and Mr. Way’s talk.

Eva had almost gone a full day avoiding Liza and Mr. Way, but by the end of the day Liza came up innocently to Eva at the bus stop.

“Hey, haven’t seen you all day!” said Liza trying to cool the tension.

“Yeah,” said Eva awkwardly. “How have you been?”

“Ok, I guess,” said Liza.

The conversation between them carried on like this for another awkward 10 minutes before they both boarded the bus. Luckily for Eva the bus was full which meant that Eva and Liza had to sit in different seats.

The mood at home was lonely, and Eva kind of missed her mother’s presence, but at the same time it meant she could escape into her fantasy realms a lot more.

By the next day, Eva’s head had gotten around the situation and she felt extremely embarrassed about her actions. She had her heart set on apologising to Mr. Way once again but decided to do it after her class with him. By third period she entered his class and there was almost an unspoken barrier between the two of them like they were unsure of what each other’s reactions would be.

By the time the class ended, Eva had purposely taken her time packing up. When everyone had left, Mr. Way and Eva turned to each other and both opened their mouths to speak.

“You go,” said Eva.

“No you go,” said Mr. Way.

Eva took a deep breath.

“I just wanted to say, sorry about yesterday,” she said gawkily.

“What? I was going to apologise to you,” he said.

“I bit you!” said Eva.

“So, I shouldn’t have acted that way around a student,” he said assertively trying to convince himself that that was all their interaction was. It made Eva sad, but also come back down to reality.

“Ugh, I just feel so embarrassed about what I did,” said Eva. “So, sorry Mr. Way.”

She began to walk towards the door when Mr. Way leapt for the door and closed it. He walked up to Eva as she stood still and grabbed her again and dragged her towards the chalkboard. This time however, Eva did not restrain. Mr. Way pushed her up against the board, Eva’s lower back digging into the chalk tray, but resisting the slight pain while she looked into Mr. Way’s daring eyes. He took her beautiful face in both his hands and lent in closer but stopped a few centimetres from her visage- his eyes blaring into hers.

“Stop apologising to me,” he whispered. “Just, stop.” He pulled away, walked over to the door, opened it, and stood by it, ushering for her to get out. As Eva walked out, they shared one more glance together.
