Keliah's POV
FAST FORWARD A FEW MONTHS....
As I am now mid way through my 7th month of pregnancy, I have definitely been forced to get maternity clothes. Patrick laughed at my stubbornness not to get them, but I agreed to go after a little coaxing. The kicks of the baby were becoming much more prominent and I was starting to get more and more worried that I was going to just be out and around and my water would break. I guess my paranoia hasn't served me well in the past few days.
Farrah moved into her house a couple of months ago, with Pete, Joe, Andy AND Patrick's help. I think Patrick was the only one there not trying to get into Farrah's pants by moving some furniture. I wasn't there, so I only heard from Patrick what had gone on, but apparently Joe tried to lift something he couldn't lift and made himself look like an ass. Of course, causing Pete to laugh hysterically at him for the next half hour. Andy beat Pete upside the head with a pillow off the couch he was supposed to be moving after he got sick of Pete's laughing and then that turned into a...violent pillow fight, I suppose. At least, that's how Patrick described it. I'm still not sure how a pillow fight could turn violent. But according to Patrick it took an hour, a lot of swearing, and Farrah screaming at them to grow up to get the guys off each other. I know. I don't get it either.
Anyways. So, it's only a few more weeks until the babies are due, and of course, Patrick hasn't let me do practically anything strenuous around the house anymore. I tried to sweep the floor yesterday, and he insisted on doing it himself. I also haven't made any meals by myself for about a month. Patrick has insisted on making everything for me. Hell, the only thing I think I've been able to do is do the dishes, and that was when he wasn't even home to stop me!
I do understand his concern. His worried and protective side is showing through again. It's rather cute really. He doesn't want me having to do anything I don't have to do. He doesn't want me to overwork myself or get stressed. It's more or less...paranoia. Something we have in common, I suppose. He just doesn't want anything to happen to the babies. And I don't want anything to happen to them either, but I would at least like to enjoy the normal comforts of life every once in awhile.
But all of this nonsense will be over and done with in a few weeks. However, before all that nonsense can be done with, I've got to go see Dr. Bennie one more time, have her check on the babies and make sure everything is normal. Which, incidentally, is supposed to happen in about...2 hours.
I made the mistake of saying that we needed groceries earlier, and Patrick just HAD to do it. So, I've been sitting on the couch playing video games, waiting until he comes home. I should've never let him go get those groceries. He's gonna take forever, and he'll probably get attacked by a mob of fangirls, and that never puts him in a good mood...it would've been better if he would've just let me come with him, but NOOO...
Alright, I'm done whining now.
------------------
Patrick finally showed up about an hour to the appointment with a bunch of groceries in hand. I met him at the door, and much to his dismay I took a few bags and set them on the counter. If he hadn't already been struggling with the 5 bags he was carrying, he probably would've protested, but he let me do it anyways.
"Sorry I took so long. Do you know how confusing it is inside that store? They've changed everything around in there. Jesus christ, It took ages just to find some fucking strawberries."
I laughed out loud as I helped him quickly put everything away into cupboards and the fridge.
"We've got our appointment in an hour, you know." I said, causally, putting cans onto the shelves.
"Yep, I remembered. I even brought the little 'make-an-appointment' card thingy the doctor gave us with me." he pulled out a tiny card that had the date of the appointment on it, and I nodded.
"Fair enough. I almost thought you forgot."
"Never."
He came behind me and put his hands on my hips. "I wouldn't forget it for the world." Sadly enough, he couldn't wrap his arms entirely around me anymore because of the size of my baby bump. It was absolutely huge. I couldn't believe how much I had grown in a few months. It was ridiculous. However, Patrick never seemed to mind. He kept reassuring me that I looked amazing when I looked in the mirror every morning. I looked okay for a pregnant woman, I guess. But I really missed my old clothes. I smiled at him and said, "Well, let's get going then. We don't want to be late."
----------------
Sitting in that god awful waiting room was even worse the second time. However, this time the doctor came out to greet us personally. "Mr. and Mrs. Stump, nice to see you again! I see you've definitely reached the 7 month mark. Everything been going smoothly so far?" she asked as we walked down to her room.
"No problems, no." I said, nodding.
We got to the room and I laid down on the chair-like thing in her office. We did another ultrasound, and the babies were still in there, moving around like they should. "Everything looks fantastic so far, Mrs. Stump."
"That's great!" I said happily.
"So, are you going to deliver the baby in this hospital, or are you going to be somewhere else?"
I looked at Patrick and he replied. "I think we're gonna come in here when it's time, yeah."
"Alright, good. We can have you stay at the hospital the week of the due date if you'd like, or whenever you think it's getting close to be time. We'll have a room set aside for you so if you decide to come in, then everything will be ready for you."
"Fantastic!" I said.
"So do you have any other questions?"
I looked at Patrick and he asked what I thought he would. "If she stays in the hospital, is she allowed to have guests stay with her overnight?"
"Yes, definitely. As long the guests are friends and family, then we're okay with it. However, we do have a limit of about 6 or 7 people in a room. We...learned that the hard way with a patient who happened to have ALOT of friends..."
Patrick smiled and nodded. "That's all I wanted to ask...you got anything, hon?"
I shook my head. "Nope, I think I'm good."
"Okay then, I will see you either shortly before or after the delivery then!" Dr. Bennie smiled at us both, shook our hands and we were already on our way out to the car. We got into the car and sat there for a moment.
"Well, that was quick." I said.
"Yeah, a lot faster than I thought. So...are you going to stay at the hospital?"
"Maybe the week of the due date, yeah. What day am I supposed to be due again? That card thing she gave you should say it somewhere..."
He pulled the card out of his pocket and looked at it. "Says here: 'Approximate Due Date On: October 10th'"
"Alright. So it won't be long until I've got to be in there anyways."
"Well, then, let's enjoy the few days you've got left until the baby comes at home. I say movie night tonight. With lots of popcorn."
"And jellybeans." I giggled, as he shook his head smiling, and turned the car on to head home.
----------------
We laid there on the couch that night, underneath a blanket, watching movie after movie and just enjoying time together. We didn't have anywhere to be, nothing to do, so this was a nice change.
And of course, a knock comes on the door.
Patrick closed his eyes. "I swear to god, if that's Pete I'm gonna try and strangle him, I swear....maybe if I just ignore it, maybe he'll go away."
I sat up and looked out the living room window to see a van, but it was too dark outside to see anything else. I shrugged and got up to answer the door.
There was Farrah, Joe, Andy, and Pete all standing in the doorway grinning. "SURPRISE!"
I smiled at them all, but raised my eyebrow in suspicion. "Surprise for...what?"
"The baby, silly." Farrah said, walking by me into the house as the rest of the guys followed her. Each one of them were carrying numerous boxes of stuff, all wrapped in gold wrapping and a bow.
"Uh...Patrick?" I said. He sat up on the couch, turned off our movie and looked at everyone, just as confused as I was. "What is all this?"
Joe set down his boxes onto the living room floor. "Well, you've gotta open the boxes to figure out, don't you?"
I shook my head and shut the front door, and followed them into the living room. There was at least a dozen boxes setting on the floor and everyone was seated on chairs and the floor. I shrugged at Patrick and sat in front of one of the huge boxes on the floor. I quickly ripped off the wrapping paper and struggled with the tape until Patrick brought me a box cutter to cut it off. Carefully opening the package, I pulled out the huge box inside it.
"Aw, look, honey, it's a crib! For twins! It's got little beds for both of them!"
Patrick looked at it with his eyebrows raised. "Wow, guys, you didn't have to get all this stuff-"
"Oh contrare, Patrick." Pete said. "Think of this as a....really late baby shower."
We opened the rest of the boxes with everyone's help and in the end there a huge baby bag filled with everything a baby could possibly need, the twin crib, lots of decorations for the nursery (all music themed of course), and a bunch of other things for the babies.
Andy smiled at us as we opened the last box. "This one is from all of us specially."
I opened it up and there was a set of blankets inside. Two tiny ones and two bigger ones. Each one was inscribed with our names on them in big fancy lettering. The two tiny ones said "Maxwell Vaughn Stump" and another said "Lily Ann Stump". And of course, the two bigger ones had both mine and Patrick's name on it. Mine and Lily's blankets were pink, and Patrick's and Max's blankets were blue. They were amazingly soft, embroidered with gold string along the edges.
"Oh god, these are amazing! Patrick, feel this." I said, handing the blankets over to him. Pete coughed, "That's what she said..." and Joe smirked at him. I shot Pete a glare and he quickly looked down, still with a smile on his face. Patrick's face lit up as he read all the names on the blankets.
"These are AWESOME, guys. Thank you so much...for...ALL this stuff. We were planning on getting all this stuff soon and you guys just beat us to it."
Joe stood up grabbing the crib box and said, "WELL. We have a nursery to put together."
Patrick started to say, "But, guys, it's already late-"
Pete shook his head. "No worry, I don't sleep in the first place. Let's DO THIS. And that IS what she said." He clapped his hands together and grabbed some boxes. I shrugged and grabbed the smallest box and Patrick watched me cautiously, picking up another box. Farrah and Andy both followed behind us as we led them to the nursery room next to our bedroom. It was, at the moment, an empty room, painted a light green. The room hadn't been used for awhile, and Patrick and I agreed on using it for the nursery, so...here it was.
"Well, let's get started then." I said, grinning.
----------------
After about two hours, the whole room was made up perfect. The crib was set up, with both little blankets inside each bed. There was all sorts of baby stuff all over the walls and in the corners of the room, and a giant soft rainbow rug in the shape of a guitar was on the floor. It looked SO much better now. Patrick spun around in the room, looking at all our combined handiwork.
"This looks INCREDIBLE, guys."
"Yeah, this is fantastic." I agreed, looking around the room. My baby bag was all set with everything a baby could ever need. I was SET.
Farrah yawned next to me, leaning on Andy. "And now, I'm tired. Can I crash here tonight, guys?"
Patrick nodded. "You all can if you'd like. I'm sure there's rooms for everyone. Just find a bed somewhere."
Everyone except Pete (he went into the living room to watch TV) wandered down the hall to the numerous amount of bedrooms in the house. I always wondered why Patrick had so many bedrooms in this house; I'm guessing this is the reason. We all eventually said goodnight and Patrick took my hand leading me to our bedroom. I quickly grabbed the two blankets with our names on it and followed him. "Finally. Time to relax." he said, laying flat on the bed.
"Tell me about it. And in just a few weeks, there will be no relaxation whatsoever." I joked, laying on the bed next to him. I laid my head on his chest and closed my eyes. Finally some well deserved rest.
