EXT. FOREST ENCAMPMENT
Jean stands in the forest encampment, looking down over the scores of mutants Magneto has gathered. Magneto approaches from behind and begins speaking.
MAGNETO:
Do you remember when we first met? Do you know what I saw in you?
Magneto is now beside her.
MAGNETO (Con't)
I saw the next stage in evolution, what Charles and I dreamt of finding. I though 'Why would Charles want to turn this Goddess into a mortal?'
Magneto lifts up the metal cup in his hand.
MAGNETO:
I can manipulate the metal in this.
The cup floats.
MAGNETO: (Con't)
But you can do anything. Anything you can think of.
Jean focuses on the cup and it turns into a miniature sized sun. Its surrounding force is throwing people and burning them. Magneto backs away.
MAGNETO:
Jean, enough.
Jean's eyes begin to have a small glow in them.
MAGNETO:
ENOUGH!
Jean smirks as she extinguishes the small ball of energy and turns around, looking Magneto in the eye.
JEAN:
Do you fear me, Erik?
MAGNETO:
No. This is what you are. What nature intended you to be.
JEAN:
You sounded just like him, Erik. Afraid, just like him.
MAGNETO:
Charles wanted to hold you back.
JEAN:
What do you want?
MAGNETO:
I want you to fight with us. That cure is meant for all mutants, including you.
Jean gives Magneto an evil look.
JEAN:
I know your happy that he can no longer interfere. You would have killed him yourself if you had the guts.
Magneto looks taken aback by Jean's words. He quickly finds his voice.
MAGNETO:
Charles Xavier did more for mutants than anyone else. My single greatest regret, is that he had to die for our dream to live.
Magneto turns and walks away while Jean's brows furrow, as if she senses something.
INT. STUDY
Back at the mansion, Ororo, Kurt, Henry, and Logan were all in the study, talking.
HENRY:
How do we handle this? Jean is clearly dangerous, and now she's with Magneto.
LOGAN:
I don't think it's that hard. We find her and bring her home.
ORORO:
Home? Logan, you need understand that this isn't the same Jean we're dealing with anymore.
LOGAN:
You're wrong. The Jean I know is still there. And I'm gonna find her.
Logan gets up and walks out of the room but Ororo goes after him.
ORORO:
Logan, listen to me.
LOGAN:
I don't have time for this.
ORORO:
She's gone, Logan. She isn't coming back.
LOGAN:
You don't know that.
ORORO:
She killed the Professor!
Logan closed his eyes for a moment.
LOGAN:
That wasn't Jean.
ORORO:
Why can't you see the truth? Why can't you just let her go?
Logan grasps Ororo by the shoulders, with more force than he intended.
LOGAN:
Because! Because I-
ORORO:
You still love her.
LOGAN:
Don't you?
ORORO:
Of course I do. But Jean made her choice...and now we have to make ours.
HENRY: (O.S)
Ororo! Logan!
They both turn to see Henry and Kurt running towards them.
HENRY:
Come with us, quickly!
INT. INFIRMARY
The four of them run into the infirmary to see the bed that Scott was laying on was empty.
ORORO:
Where's Scott?
LOGAN:
I thought he was in a coma.
Henry then understood.
HENRY:
The Professor...he woke him up.
LOGAN:
How?
HENRY:
With his telepathy. He must have done it before he was killed.
Henry then looked at Ororo and smiled.
HENRY:
You see, Ororo? I told you.
