chapter nine
"Frank i need to crash here" i panted stumbling into him "no i need to get you to the hospital your bleeding!" he said catching me, i shook my head dropping my bags "fuck sake Hayley im taking you to a hospital" he picked me up and carried me into his sitting room and picked up his house phone. i wanted to protest but i was so weak from running i ran my hand down to my stomach i was in so much pain. "okay Hayley the ambulance is on its way" he said kneeling next to me "im gonna be okay Frank, your being over dramatic" i could just about to talk before he started rocking me. i started to cry i didnt want to but i did. finally the ambulance turned up and the paramedics came rushing in one of them started taking my blood pressure and another was dabbing me with tissues and swobs. "im fine honestly, nothing a band aid cant fix" i tried to smile but it hurt "look miss youve broken your nose and by the looks of it youve also took some really bad knocks to the ribs, im talking internal bleeding" one of the paramedics told me, my head shot up at Frank who was stood in a corner of the room with his head in his hands "shes pregnant" he shouted now standing up and standing behind the paramedic, the one taking my blood pressure looked alarmed. "okay we're gonna have to get you to the hospital"
when we got there i was taken for about three xrays and had three stitches Frank didnt say a word to me he just held my hand and occasionally kissed my cheek. "where the fuck are they?" i ground out after we were sat waiting for my xray results to turn up for about an hour. "they need to make sure your okay" Frank muttered i looked at him in his hoodie and jeans he seemed pissed "whats wrong?" i asked letting go of his hand "why did he do it? and why does he only neat you?" he said standing up and pacing the room i looked at him and pleaded for him to calm down. "Frank i deserve it as much as i hate him i deserve it, respect thy father and mother remember" god i actually sounded like my parents but it was true. "i know but you dont deserve it, nobody does" he sat down again and squeezed my hand as the doctor walked in with my xrays and scan results which he placed up on the wall against a light. they had asked to ring my parents twice but i told them they were out of town and it was just a silly attempted mugging but nothing was stolen. "okay Miss Hunt it appears you have a few bruises on your ribs and your nose is indeed broken but no internal bleeding, seems to me you are very lucky" the doctor said smiling and trying to be polite but i knew i was far from lucky "what about my baby?, is he.. i mean it okay?" i asked biting my lip and putting a hand on my stomach. the doctor stared at me and then at the ultra siund scan "the heart rate seemed fine and there doesnt seem to be much damage to your abdomen your baby seems to be quite the trooper" he chuckled, i sighed with relief "just like his mama" Frank smiled
i was released from hospital just after midnight and slept in Franks bed i had told him id sleep on the sofa but he was very insistant on me sleeping in his bed whilst he slept on the sofa. i woke up early and tip toed downstairs i was already dressed for school although i knew i still had ages until we had leave, i edged the sitting room door open and saw Frank sprawled across the sofa. in my head i was thinking to go back upstairs but Frank looked so cute asleep i couldnt help it i just went and sat on the chair across the room watching him sleep. after about twenty minutes of watching him i felt like there was butterflies fluttering in my stomach it felt strange but i hoped it was my baby telling me he was okay. i started to play with my locket when i heard a little mumble from the sofa "you just gonna sit there or come and cuddle with me woman?" Frank had rolled over and was looking up at the ceiling. i walked over and he moved slightly so there was enough room for me "sorry about last night" i whispered lying down next to him as he put his arm around me. "you needed me and i was there, its what im here for" he yawned and i giggled "no Frank your not here to put up with my shit" i said almost getting angry "yeah i am Hayley, i dont wanna fuck things up with you and that means i need to be here for you and your baby" he was making it sound like we were dating as much as i liked Frank and i would love to be like that with him, Bob was my baby's dad and he had only been gone a few weeks. "Frank i dont wanna hurt you and i dont want you to end up like Bob because of my shit so if you wanna date i want to do it properely and i dont want you to treat me like your pregnant friend" i turned around and his eyes were shut but he opened them and brought his hands to my face. "okay then Hayley who is not pregnant with her dead boyfriends baby, would you like to go on a date with me?" he said softly but i could sense his sarcasm and giggled "yes Frank i will" i said kissing him.
school was the same as usual but people stared more, my makeup could hide the black eye but the stitches on my lip and on my eyebrow were very visible. but the stares soon became rumours Frank tried to make sure i didnt hear some but i heard one or two and they all ended the same, me being named the biggest whore in Belleville. "hey get over here now you fucking slut" i heard my sister shout from the other end of the corrider from my locker i saw Mikey look at me weirdly and he quickly ran up to me. "fuck off Alex" i screamed at her walking away with Mikey "no way get back here, i guess the school doesnt know your pregnant yet?" i heard multiple gasps and whispers as my sister shouted down the corridor, Mikey pulled at my arm as i stopped dead. "yeah thats right stop so you gonna tell everyone how you got pregnant then beat yourself up and ran away from home" she continued to shout my personal life down the corridor as Mikey tried to pull me away but it was too late i could see Frank walking up towards me in the silence. "your one to talk Alex you forget all those times you fucked around, dad punished you too" Frank was by my side now and put his arm round my shoulder he had his shades on and the sweet Frank i knew wasnt here. "whatever why dont you just run off and have a threesome with Iero and Way here im sure youd love that" she said and i balled up my fist but Frank kissed my cheek and i calmed down a little "hey your free to join if you like?" Frank said flipping here off and leading mr away. Mikey was walking beside us but Frank kept his arm around me and we walked out behind the bleachers as usual then Mikey left and it was just us. i looked around and realised the picnic blanket set out along with a salad from the school cafeteria i knew Frank was a vegetarian but food was food and i was hungry, i then noticed a pile of black and grey fabric which looked like a type of skirt and tshirt. "put it on" Frank said with a bored tone as he sat down and started picking at the grass "what?" i laughed as i stepped closer "i want you to put that cheerleaders uniform on, a friend of mine stole it from the drama department from last years halloween show" he continued to sound monotone but i found it hot as usual. "okay but dont look" i giggled taking off my jeans and shirt i could feel his eyes watching me as i stripped and then changed into the costume. it was small and the top only covered my chest and showed off my stomach the skirt was also very short and something told me my panties were showing. i turned around to look at Frank "hot!" he said staring me up and down and taking off his shades "no way look at me im fat" i complained putting a hand on my stomach as if i was trying to hide it "shut up Hayley, i hope you moan as much as you complain" he said standing up and putting his hands around my waist. i loved that he had listened to me this was just us forgetting i was pregnant and forgetting Bob and Maria.
