Storms P.O.V
"This is so stressful" Zia exclaimed, shaking her hair out of her eyes. She was sitting in Dr. D's private lounge with me, looking through my old tattoo books. We had decided to welcome her to the family by giving her a new tattoo, to which she screamed with excitement about. Damn that girl loved her tattoos.
"It can't be that hard. Pick whatever you want, even if it isn't in the book" I said, seeing that she had closed the fourth book in despair.
"Really? Well, I have been thinking about getting black wings..." She trailed off, looking at me to see how I would react to the idea.
"Dude, that would look fucking-" I tried to say, but was cut off.
"It would look fucking hot" I turned to see non other than a 5'3 tattoo junkie.
"Thanks Ghoul. Nice of you to talk over me" I mocked, creating a fake strict tone in my voice.
"Oh, I'm SO sorry mom" he winked at me, laughing and walked over to look through the books.
I sighed and grabbed my sketch book. It wasn't the normal A4 size, but a massive canvas size, made of the paper that I would need to use to print the tattoo onto Zia.
I got to work on drawing two massive black wings, the colour of a Crows, but the size of an angel's. After the outline was done, I filled in the detail, shading where necessary, making sure to make the wings look patent and realistic.
I noticed Zia staring at Ghoul and couldn't help but smile. They were perfect for eachother. Both were slim yet muscular, with flawless skin and badass hair. Not to mention they were both walking canvases.
"So, Ghoul, I was thinking you could help Zia with her name." I said, relieving the semi awkward atmosphere.
"Sure thing. So, um, Zia, have any ideas? Basically think of two words that sound rad together, and boom, you have your killjoy name, just pick something that resembles you." He smiled, winking when he finished.
"Umm..." Zia said, thinking hard, then looking at me for help.
"Well, Fun Ghoul chose his name because when he was younger he played fun tricks on everyone, and still does, hence the 'fun' part, and he has incredibly light footsteps, hence the 'Ghoul' part. Mind you, I always thought it was because he had a scary face" I laughed, watching Ghoul fake a look of hurt, clutching his hand to his chest.
"Hurtful Storm. And Zia, the reason Her name is Velocity Storm is because A. When she gets angry, she can rip you to shreds, like a storm. And B. she likes to think about fucking Poison at high velocity" he looked her dead in the eye.
Zia just blinked, her eyes wide. She looked at me, amusement and shock in her eyes. She looked back at Ghoul and he burst out laughing.
That's when I pounced.
I jumped from a sitting position into a crouching position in a movement so quick it didn't seem possible, and flug myself across the room to land on the small wooden table where Ghoul was sitting.
Zia stared as I landed with a small thud on the table. I had jumped a good three meters and landed right infront of Ghoul, who was now looking rather worried.
I smiled wickedly at him, showing him my little white teeth, which he knew were rather sharp. I licked over my teeth and pushed his chair over so he was on his back with his legs still wrapped around the chair legs.
I jumped off the table and giggled, dragging him off the chair and sitting on his muscular chest. I looked down to see him with his hands resting behind his head, smiling at the door.
I turned too see Poison carrying a sleeping Grace on his back, staring at me, eyes wide, just like Zia, who was still staring, mouth drooping a bit. I couldn't help but feel my heart beat hard when I saw Poison. For the past couple of days, he had looked after Grace, and it made me love him even more.
Although raising children in Battery City was forbidden at the moment, I couldn't help but feel he would make a great father.
After a minuets awkward silence Fun Ghoul coughed and we all snapped out of our trances. I bit my lip trying to stifle a giggle.
"How the fuck did you do that?" Gawped Zia, who was still wide eyed.
"THAT is why I am called Velocity." I smiled, making sure to put more pressure onto Ghoul so he knows not to mention anything.
"Holy Fuck storm. That was fucking amazing. You looked so badass" Poison laughed.
"Umm. Thanks?" I smiled back.
After a few more moments of smiling I felt Ghoul wiggle underneath me. I looked down at him and gave him evils, fake ones of course.
"Carpets don't move Ghoul" I spat, making sure he could hear the playfulness in my tone.
"Do you actually eat anything? You are so light" he said, poking my ribs.
I smacked his hands away and stood up, making sude to elbow him in the ribs.
"Yes, but I need to loose weight" I sighed
"No, you don't, you are perfect and-" Poison spluttered, covering his mouth with his free hand.
I blushed and hid behind my hair, walking over to my drawing and continuing the work. I was a pretty quick artist so I was nearly done.
"Umm, Ghoul, could I talk to you a minute?" Poison asked, entering the room and placing Grace on the sofa, making sure to place a blanket over her to keep her warm.
"Sure dude, excuse me ladies" he picked himself up of the floor and nodded to us, shutting the door behind himself and Poison.
"So, I have a picture of your wings, are there any alterations you want?" I handed her my now complete drawing.
"WOW. This is amazing Storm. Um, if its not too much to ask, could I have all the feathers black, apart from one bright red one? Like a blood colour?" She asked, biting her lip.
"Of course, so, if you would like to lie over there and get ready, I will get the machine prepared"
I was so thankful Dr D had a decent tattoo machine. Only me, Dr D, Show Pony and Fun Ghoul could work a machine.
Ghoul had once told me he ran a successful tattoo shop in New Jersey before his new life. I wasn't surprised, considering he was a walking canvas.
I got the drawing and printed it onto Zia, who was now lying face down on the special workbench Dr D had bought.
"What if people don't like me?" Zia asked, wincing as I began to trace the needle over her skin.
"They will, don't be so paranoid" I said, wiping access ink of her back.
"I get like that, I mean, I've been like thank since I was a kid"
"I guess its just a part of you. So, what did you do before BLI/ind took over"
"I moved to england for a while, worked as a photographer for Kerrang magazine, even dabbled in a bit of Radio presenting, but I moved back here after my dad died. My mother suffered from depression"
I couldn't help but feel sorry for her, she seemed like a nice girl, and I could tell the loss of her father had affected her.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know. And Kerrang? That is so fucking rad!" I laughed.
"It was yeah, I love listening to myself on the radio, I don't sound like me. At first I was worried about how the British would like me, but I guess they enjoyed me enough" I could see her smile out of the corner of my eye.
"I bet" I murmured..
"Yup. And-Oh my god, I thought of my name" she squealed, nearly forgetting that I was in the middle of tattooing her, though luckily, I had switched the machine off for a chance to let me see my work.
"No way? Tell" I grinned.
"Well, you said my paranoia is part of me, and I said I like the radio so...drumroll please" she winked.
"Dun dun DUN" I said wile tapping my fingers on my legs.
"Radio Paranoia!" She screamed, the name rolling off her tongue like she said it everyday.
"That's is good, as long as you are happy about it?"
"Yep, sure am" she smiled, obviously excited.
I was about to start the inner detail on the feathers when I heard a little grumble. I turned to see Little Grace looking at us through groggy eyes. She blinked at us and wiped the sleep out of her little eyes.
"Morning, what are you screaming about?" She asked, smiling.
"I thought of my Killjoy name, it is Radio Paranoia! I feel like a super hero!" Zia- I mean, Paranoia laughed.
"Oh, cool, I want one!" The young girl beamed.
"Sure gracie, what do you want?" I asked, smiling at her.
"Umm, could I be called Sunshine? I love the sunshine" she grinned.
"Of course sweetie. Now could you go find Dr D and tell him that Zia- I mean Paranoia has chosen her name?" I smiled, watching her not her head and run off happily.
"Now, let's get on with this tattoo." I smiled.
"I can tell I am going to enjoy it here" I heard Paranoia whisper.
"Don't worry, you will"
