Well apparently Freard is the only thing that seems to be review worthy, so I guess everyone hops on the wagon and writes what people want to see instead of writing for themselves. I laughed at the description part haha, too good and sadly true.
Author's response
Yea, it seems everyone just wants to be popular which is kind of funny. And thank you, I was trying to be funny and very serious all at once. For the love of (insert heroic/religious figure here, in my case Gerard)!

Mine? killjoy academy?
I mean, there's a bit about clothes, but not overly so. It's a a Gerard/OC pairing...Author's response
I love original pairings! I'll be sure to check it out. And I didn't mean to never put a description but some people legit have paragraphs of what the character is wearing. Just saying that people need to put enough to add imagery but still leave a little room for the readers imagination. Weaving in information also makes it easier for the reader to remember everything and not be overwhelmed. Know what I mean?

Well. I think Frerards are great. I wouldn't mind reading other pairings, or just a good Killjoy fic where the guys are just that, fighting the Dracs in the desert. But hey, there is nothing wrong with a good Frerard. And if its what people would like to read, and what they want to write, can you even blame them? *nd perhaps, some do go overboard on describing what the characters are wearing. Some imagery is nessacary though, to create a story, but more importantly, a relatable character. All though, writes should spend more time with Character VS Self, Character VS Society, Character VS Nature, rather than clothes. But hey, again who are we to judge. Every author has their own style, and their fans who will read it. So, its really like, whatever. But, this is just my opinion, so like. Yeah. It too is whatever.

And, quite frankly, if the stories/authors/content/theme/orcharacters seem to piss you off, then don't come on here anymore. This should be a place for people to write what and how they want, and if you don't like it then you don't have to read nor complain. I'm not trying to be rude, but seriously. This is just how I feel. I know I'm a shit writer, but there are amazing writers such as Cosmic_Zombie and MCR_punk who do write great Frerards, while including mild imagery(less than what you stated in the story but a genorous amount). As for eye colors, why would that even fucking matter? If they want the characters eyes to be blue, or green, or hazle, or freakishly purple. I just don't see what it matters. Again not trying to be rude. Just my opinion.
Author's response
I dont take it as rude to write how you feel, thats why i posted this. I dont give a crap what eye color a character has either, i meant that the general look of most characters is cliche/stereotypical and i think its because of what the ideal punk/emo/whatever looks like. I also suggested weaving in information so that it wouldn't be overwhelming for the reader. I wanted to give something for people to think about. When i first started with this site it was very diverse. i have read and still read some frerard but like i said before, i was hoping for a little more diversity. for the writer to write about what they want and not to please everyone else because thats what everyone is raving about. There are some really great writers here and i think everyone who writes is brave for putting their ideas and opinions out there. I'm sorry if i upset or offended you or anyone on here, it wasn't meant to be taken that way. And hey, everyone complains every once in a while even if there are ways of avoiding it. Again, i'm really sorry. For the love of (insert heroic/religious figure here, in my case Gerard)!

I'm already pretty pissed off about other things, but I'mna try and be not be rude. Honestly, I don't understand why people feel the need to post things like this. It's not like it's gonna change how/what people write. If you don't like it, then don't read it.Author's response
Like you said: if you dont like it, then don't read it. I dont think you should be apologizing for stating your honest opinion, im not going to say you're being rude just because you dont agree with me. And maybe posting this wont change everyones mind, and i dont want it to, but it might spark interest in one or two people. Im not out to cause some major change, seriously... Its just me and my thoughts and no one honestly gives a fuck what i think lol.For the love of (insert heroic/religious figure here, in my case Gerard)!

I thInk all stories are a little stretched out of reality, but that's why it's called fanfiction? I doubt ANY fiction would even come close to happening, so why not write whatever your imagination tells you? I also dot read "frerard" or whatever but does not mean that you have to complain, and a lot of people post things other than frerard. I dont mean to be bitchy or whatever, but I'm trying to say this straight forward. I have stories wih original characters and MCR pairings, the only two I'm writing right now are Pumped Up Kicks and We Are Young, so knock yourself out dude :)
Hope this didn't come across as bitchy, I get where you're coming from, but don't like don't read maybe? :)
XoxoDragonAuthor's response
You know when you try to do something and you get really frustrated even though you know better? Well i was trying to find something that i would be interested in and kept coming across frerards! So i spilled a little bit of my frustarted thoughts onto the screen even though a part of me knew i may have been a tad unreasonable. Yes, everyone has a right to write what they please and i, along with everyone else, have been doing just that. I wasnt trying to say you shouldnt. It was a rant. But hey, everyone is standing up for what they believe in and whether or not they agree its good to see that passion.
Ps. I enjoyed your fics :]For the love of (insert heroic/religious figure here, in my case Gerard)!

I agree with you a little actually. Some of the stuff on this site is ridiculously cliché. But I wouldn't be knocking Frerard too much, it is kind of a cult thing for fangirls with too little respect and too much time on their hands, (I am aware that I am stereotyping here. Don't be offended guys, I was describing myself.)
The kids like Frerard. The kids should be able to write Frerard. As long as they write it well I got no cause to complain.
SFAuthor's response
i totally agree, sometimes you just need an easy-read, cliche story, they're good every once in a while.
i wasn't trying to bash on frerard, i enjoy the pairing occasionally and being a fan for as long as i have been, i understand it being a fangirl thing.(again not bashing on it cause i was that type of fangirl back when i was like 16- totally made myself feel old...) i was just finding it overwhelming especially while trying to dig through for a MCR/OC pairing.
i'm not trying to tell people what to do but what's wrong with wanting something different? For the love of (insert heroic/religious figure here, in my case Gerard)!

By the way, I count most of my own fics in the stereotypical, cliché category. That doesn't make it any less fun to write...and hopefully read.

I half agree with you, but I think you're really stereotyping 'frerard' stories. Yes, they are the most common on this site, but I've read several really original ones as well as cliche ones (some of which I enjoy reading a lot- as long as they're well written), and I've found, from reading various pairings, that if the story is genuinely a good story and well written, it doesn't matter what pairing it is at all, because the story- and how the author paints the characters- is what captures your interest. After a while, you don't even think about them being 'Frank' and 'Gerard', just the characters the author has created.
I also half-agree with you on the whole description thing. Yes, cliche description to a certain extent is uninteresting, but where would stories be without description?
Everyone has their own way of writing, so I'd judge that- not whatever pairing they've chosen.
Sorry if I've come across as rude; I'm not trying to be at all, simply expressing an opinion...hope you find some stories that you enjoy soon :)
CosmicZombie xoAuthor's response
I admit to stereotyping, I'm sorry, but I do want to defend myself a little bit and say that stereotypes happen for a reason. I'm not saying it's right at all, but it happens.
I half agree with you. There are some good original stories out there with this particular pairing but just because it's a well written story doesn't necessarily mean you can somehow become interested in something you aren't really into. For example, I can't seem to really get a feel for stories with male/male pairings, not because I'm homophobic or anti-gay, I just can't relate/connect to it.
I'm not trying to judge what pairing they use I'm just wondering where all the male/female pairings went because I've seen so few lately.
Description = Super important. But making a list?
I think theres a lot of talent here. What I said was just a suggestion, no one has to agree with me but it's something to think about.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, I think its really important for people to share their views. I respect everything you have said and I didn't think it was rude at all.
