Oh you're not going to do that stupid talking in their heads thing are you cause if that's the case you have lost yourself a reader.Author's response
I have to admit, when I read your review, I heard it said in a rather snarky tone. However, I'm sure I was imagining things and someone surely wouldn't be that rude, so I'll pretend I'm just crazy. =)
In response to the actual review, no, they aren't going to talk in their heads. I'm not such a huge fan of that, so I like to pretend it doesn't exist. There will be a magical connection, however, and if you have a problem with that, I hope you find another story to suit your needs.
Much thanks,

The trope is set up, now I wait to see whether or not it becomes cliche. Regardless, this chapter like the last one is a marvelous enough read that I felt slightly disappointed when the chapter ended.Author's response
Aw, thank you! I'm trying my darndest to take this in a new direction, and I also hope it doesn't become clichè. I'm aiming to not fall into easy plots, and I hope I succeeed.
Thanks!The Life Bond

Hmmm.... A good explanation for the bond. I like what you did so far. I find Snape to be interesting in this chapter. He acknowledges that Harry is Lily's son, and then promptly and deliberately turns any feelings he may have on the matter into hatred. It's amazing how the human mind can rationalize nearly anything.Author's response
Thanks! I agonized over it for days trying to get it just right. =)
As for Snape, he's a pretty interesting and complex character. Even in canon, he's acknowledged that Harry is Lily's son, yet treats him despicably. Fact is, he's a petty man, and I'm pretty sure only Alan Rickman's performance is what makes so many people try to redeem him.
My problem is, however, the road to redemption is too short in other stories. Snape here has to work for it, and he needs to get through his inner demons. Meaning, he needs to really get over his hatred of James Potter before he can get to properly protect Harry Potter--for Lily.
Again, thanks for the review! =DThe Life Bond

Interesting' it will be interesting to see where this goes next. I'm sure the Dursleys will be objectionable, the question is how others 'in the know' will reactAuthor's response
I'm not sure the Dursleys have ever been agreeable where Harry and his well-being is concerned. He is, after all, only a burden and a freak to them.
Thanks for the review! =)The Life Bond

Looks like a fun story to read.
I saw the scene with Hermione and the kiss with the bond forming and short circuited into another story and cam up with this.
“Magic is deeply connected with our emotions, Miss Granger. When you kissed his brow,” Professor Dumbledore continued, ignoring both Harry and Hermione’s now flaming red faces, “your magic reacted strongly to your desire for him to be well again. When that combined with the life debt, magic deemed it a suitable payment and used your magic to help rejuvenate Mister Potter’s core.”
“That’s a good thing, right?” Harry interjected, looking wildly between the two adults. He was very confused, feeling a ton of emotions all at once. It was enough to make him dizzy.
“It’s a good thing you’re both alive and well,” Professor Dumbledore assured. “Unfortunately, magic didn’t stop at merely helping Mister Potter recover. It went beyond that, and entwined your magic together into something we call a Mother's Kiss. Miss Granger, you're now Harry's mother.”
