How To Write A Story

I hate obvious questions in the summary and I hate tense skipping. Grrr. I could seriously throw a dictionary in some people's faces. My friend made me read a book she wrote today, no word of a lie, this is how it started;
'as i walked too the shops today, i saw a man with a nife. ahhh i screamed. he could have hurt me so i ran. i run as fast as i can and i ducked into a small aly way to hide. hello there girl he says as i hide he came up to me and tryed to stab me. that is how i, 'random name' dyed.'
I copied that from the piece of paper she wrote it on which is now in front of me. I'm so tempted to red pen it all and give it back. She's in year NINE. Come on.Author's response
That hurts to read... Show her this! How To Write A Story

This is why i don't write any storys in English. And if I ever do, I won't put it up.
I'm not a great author and to write a story in English, which isn't my first language... Nah... I dunno.
I'd love to be a great writer in both English and Swedish (wich is my own language), but I'm too scared to be hated for my bad plot, spelling, grammar, and everything. So yeah... I'm a little whimp. I know. But It's so much easier to write in Swedish!
I'm just rambling (is that the word?) but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say here.Author's response
Go on, try us! We all love reading new stuff and if you say you're Swedish, we'll be a bit nicer about the spelling, grammar, etc XD
I'd love to read something you've written. If you really don't want to post it, you can email me something - rosefrankiie@hotmail.co.uk - and I'll tell you what I think and I might try and convince you to post it :PHow To Write A Story

I wish everyone would read this.Author's response
Some people definitely need to...
I read an awful one the other day - every your/you're was spelt as "yur". It was a good story, if only they could spell :(How To Write A Story

You say 'alot' does not exist? Maybe. But look it up on Google Images. Cutest thing ever. (:
I'm so glad you posted this. there are so many bad summaries and bad writing and such. I hope the people that do that read this.Author's response
As a word, it doesn't exist. It has stemmed from slang and kids who can't spell.
However, THAT IS SO FREAKIN' CUTE!!!! I want one.
I am hoping, people are starting to take this on board :P
There shouldn't have been a comma there. Dammit! Of all the times I could put an unwanted comma in :(How To Write A Story

If people would follow these simple guidelines then finding a story to read on here sure would be a lot easier.
You're right though, if someone doesn't have the imagination to come up with a title or summary then what does that say about their ability to write an entire story out? That's what I always think when I read those titles or summaries.Author's response
I'm so glad that people are agreeing with me on this, it makes me realise that I'm not just being annoying XDHow To Write A Story

I thank you for this. I turn to this (as I've added it to my bookmarks page) and some advanced writing book that I got from school before writing anything.Author's response

Punctuation and Grammar are like desperate, free whores. They cost you nothing, and beg you to use them, and actually CANNOT survive without being overused!Author's response
I might have to quote that... That's an awesome analogy!
