Chapter 2- El Comienzo Ãspero
She was really starting to get annoyed. There was only so much a girl could take! Ever since the incident with the book about two weeks ago, he had done nothing but watch her. On top of that, he kept asking her where she was from. He knew she was from the future, but he still couldn't figure out her nationality.
Cam smiled inwardly. She spoke perfect Spanish, seeing as she was raised in a Spanish household in Canada, but she was adopted. Her biological parents were from England, although the color of her skin had darkened from years of being in the sun. Her hair was also a dark brown. Together with her skin tone and her hair color, she could almost pass for a Hispanic. It also helped that when she spoke Spanish, she had a Spanish accent. Sometimes when she was mad, you could hear a touch of a Canadian and British accent, or so she was told. However, that only happened when she was mad and speaking English. She knew it was driving Jack insane, but payback was a bitch. He was annoying her by constantly following her every move and she was perfectly content to annoy him with her heritage.
She sighed as she put down the pot she was washing. He had also decided that since she was good at organizing and didn't mind cleaning so much to put her skills to use. So far, she had cleaned and organized the cupboards with the bowls, plates ect. as well as all the cutlery. Now she was cleaning the pots and pans. Jack also wanted her to clean the stove and the counters. Still so much to do, Cam thought as she placed another pot in the big bucket of hot water to soak for a bit.
After a few hours of cleaning dishes non-stop, Cam was finally done. She stretched as she made her way onto the deck of the Pearl. She shaded her eyes before she looked up in the sky and located the sun. Hmmm, it looks like it's a little bit past three, Cam thought as she made her way to the galley to see if her friend Greg was there. As she had predicted, he was there sitting in his usual spot, cradling a cup of what appeared to be coffee, but knowing Greg, it probably had some sort of alcohol in it.
"Hey," she said, grabbing a cup and filling it with water.
"Hey yourself," replied Greg and his companion sat down beside him. "How are you today?"
"Tired, annoyed, pissed off, you know, the usual," Cam replied, smirking. Good thing I've already told him what most of the "modern" day terminology is, otherwise we'd be sitting here having a discussion about it, Cam laughed inwardly at the thought.
"So what did he do this time?" The young man knew that his Captain had a habit of "pissing her off" as Cam would say. Then again, his Captain had a habit of pissing a lot of women off, so what else was new?
"He's still annoying me about where I'm from and he's still trying to figure out my accent. Although, I'm having fun not telling him because I know it's driving him insane, but still. He's really starting to get on my nerves!" Cam sighed in frustration and ran her fingers through her hair. Greg stayed quite, knowing it was better then trying to tell her anything.
"Luv! There ye be!" Captain Jack Sparrow said as he sauntered into the room. "I've been lookin' for ye."
"Speak of the devil," Cam muttered under her breath. "I have a name you know," she said.
"Alright Camryn," he said using her full name, knowing how much she hated it. "I've figured out where ye came from!" Greg and Cam shared a look before they waited patiently for Jack to continue.
"Ye be Italian and English!" The older man had a look of triumph on his face.
"Guess again Jack, although you were closer this time," Cam said before getting up and angrily pushing by the Captain.
"What's her problem?" Jack asked the younger boy. Greg only shrugged.

Cam nearly ran out of the dining room and went in search of Anamaria, the only other female on the whole entire ship. She quickly located the other woman, as she was steering the ship.
"What did he do this time?" Anamaria asked as the younger girl approached.
"What hasn't he done?" Cam sighed as she stood beside the older woman and looked out at the sea. "He's still trying to guess my accent and my nationality and it's starting to get annoying. I should probably just tell him so he'll leave me alone."
"Na, ye shouldn't do that." The older girl paused for a moment to call another crewmember to take over. Once that was done, Anamaria took Cam gently by the arm and they started walking around the Pearl. "I know that the Captain can be annoying, but I've never seen him so frustrated in all the years I've known him. Just keep it up for a tad bit longer. It'll be worth it in the end," she said, giggling slightly before continuing. "Plus, I doubt he'll ever guess," the two women shared a smile. Ana was one of the first people that Cam had met on board and she was the only person, besides Greg, who knew. They continued walking for a few minutes before they passed by the open window of Jack's cabin.
"Did you hear that?" Cam asked, lowering her voice.
"Hear what?" Ana asked, looking at her friend in confusion.
"I could have sworn I heard my name being said. Shh! There it is again." The two women moved closer to the open window to see if they could hear any better. They heard some muffled conversation, then Jack's voice saying, "...Camryn is a whore."
"Oh my God," Cam said, backing away from the window. Before the older woman could stop her, Cam ran off.
