My ears perked forward and I opened my eyes slowly, I was greeted by the sound of birds chirping and others around me waking up.

Without another second of wasted time, I raised myself up and shook off the dirt that had gotten into my fur. The sun was barely peeking above the trees.

My eyes scanned around the pack, landing on each family member that stood beside each other. A sigh escaped my muzzle as I sat down, although this was my pack I couldn't help but feel like a lone wolf. No one was blood related to me, and I had only been accepted because they found me as a pup.

I saw the Elders begin walking towards the giant rock that sat in the forest, a pack meeting was about to start.

Taking a few steps forward, I stretched out my front and back legs, my claws digging into the earth as a yawn escaped me before proceeding to follow the rest of the pack and sit down once more.

A quick set of paws came running, as I turned around to see who it was, I ducked as another wolf jumped over me.

Lyulf grabbed my ear and tugged gently, I growled and put my front paws on his chest before pushing him away,

Okami and Rory approached us and sat down, "How are you doing today, Stryker?" a smile came to my muzzle seeing the future healer and Beta of the pack.

"Doing pretty well, how about you guys?" my tail swished back and forth, the loneliness I felt earlier disappearing.

Rory stepped closer before sitting down next to me, he glanced towards the Alphas before looking down towards the ground. "I heard from Conall that we're relocating our territory. Heading east about ten miles before securing the location and marking it as ours, a human moved into that old log cabin house along the river and the pack agreed it wouldn't be a good idea to stick nearby seeing as the owner does like to hunt."

"We should go check it out! I've never seen a human before" Lyulf rolled over in front of us, whimpering with excitement as he pushed on Okami's chest this time.

"Yeah, I don't see why not. What does one human have against four of us!" Okami placed a paw on Lyulf's head and growled playfully.

"You will not go anywhere near the other side of the river!"

Lyulf yelped and quickly jumped behind us, cowering in fear as the Alpha's son now stood in front of us. Conall was beside him, a smirk on his muzzle as they both looked down at us as if we were pups.

"Looks like someone rolled over on to a porcupine this morning" I chuckled.

Arik snarled and towered over me as he glared, "You're the last wolf I would care to see come back if that human was chasing your tail. A pup like you doesn't stand a chance of leading a pack, nor does it have any strengths to support one."

"I would lead a pack better than you could, Arik. No matter what day of the year it is." I snapped.

Arik barred his fangs and growled louder than me, his ears were perked back. "When its my turn to take over the pack you will be the first to go, Pup. Just because my father pitied you and welcomed the little brown wolf pup into our pack because your family abandoned you, doesn't mean I'll keep to his promise as well."

With that, the Alpha turned his back and proceeded walking to the front of the pack to sit down by his friends.

Okami leaned against Stryker, "Aww, don't worry about him. He's just a spoiled rotten pup that had everything handed to him since he was born."

A low growl built up in my chest, "After this meeting, we're going to search for the human."

----

The sun was high above the sky as the four of us made our way towards the river.

"So, why exactly does Arik's parents think this human is going to be dangerous? We've traveled about ten miles, now I don't know much about humans but I think they travel a lot less then we do." I stepped over fallen tree branches that came into my path as I looked at my pack mates.

Rory rolled his eyes as he walked beside me, "Anything that doesn't smell like the wild is a threat to us, Stryker. You haven't seen the strength some of them have. We don't know if we're going up against a male or a female."

Okami and Lyulf were to my left as the older of the two spoke next, "Rory, we are wolf bloods. We do have a human side just like they do."

The Beta shook his head, "I know we do Okami, but do you remember when the last time one of us had a transformation? There's no reason to, this half of us can run, see and smell about ten times better than an average human."

I stopped, looking between the two. "Wait, so neither one of you has transformed and actually experienced life as a human?"

They shook their heads, "Why? So we can transform into something naked and be exposed? If you think I'm going to walk around with no fur and have my twig and berries in plain sight, you can think again."

Lyulf chuckled at this comment, "Okami, we're pretty much exposing them already."

The Healer growled, "Yeah, but it's not like you can see them unless you really look. I don't check to see who has the bigger dick."

Lyulf continued walking further ahead of us, "That's easy, it's definitely Arik."

We stopped walking all together except the Scout of the pack who kept walking until he turned around and seen we had stopped. "What?"

Rory shook his head, "Dude, please tell me you were joking when you said Arik is the biggest."

Lyulf's ears perked back, "Oh come on, I told you guys I had a thing for the Alpha. So what if I took a quick peek to see if the rumors were true."

My ears perked back and I looked at Rory, he just sat down and curled his tail around his front legs. "Lyulf, there are no rumors. The females in our pack don't care about the size of our packages, all they care about is gaining a higher status and having pups."

Lyulf laughed, "If that's what you think Rory, how come all of us here are unmated then?"

Okami sat down as well, a smirk on his muzzle. "Yeah, please enlighten us Rory. Why are we unmated?"

Rory pawed at the dirt as he lowered his head, "It has nothing to deal with our size, we just don't have mates because the females sorta look at Pierre and Conall when mating season comes around." a huff came out.

"Besides, neither one of those guys are mated either. Who needs girls when we've got friends!"

I raised myself up and walked over to Lyulf before placing a paw on his head, "Lyulf, you seriously need to consider a different guy. Arik is nothing but trouble, and he's only looking for the perfect female to rule the pack with him, I don't think he's interested in guys."

The Scout lowered his head but nodded nonetheless, "Yeah I know."

We continued walking until the sound of the river reached our ears, I made my way towards the shallow area before stepping carefully out into the water.

Rory followed behind me, going just as slow as I was.

Okami and Lyulf ran at full speed, jumping off the small ledge and straight into the water, "Holy shit that's cold!" the grey wolf yelped as he padded quickly beside Okami.

Rory and I made it to the other side with just our paws being wet as the other two had to shake off the water. "Ha! We beat you guys" Lyulf stuck out his tongue.

Rory snorted, "Yeah, well now it's going to take a good hour before you two dry off."

As we climbed over the hill, at the edge of the forest there seemed to be a clearing. I looked at each of my friends seeing a worried look on their faces. "I guess we must be getting close."

I was the first one to step forward, making my way towards the clearing. Once at the edge of the trees, we looked out.

Okami stood up on his hind legs to look out farther, he sat back down after a few moments and looked to me. "No barn, or tractors. I think its just an abandoned field that no one has gone through since forever."

"Race you to the other side!" Lyulf howled as he ran out before us.

My ears perked back as I was cautious, Okami and Rory smiled before they followed after the second youngest wolf.

I shook my head before quickly running out into the open with my friends.

It was truly one of a kind experience as we bound across the open terrain, our ears blowing in the wind, tongues out, and tails wagging.

It was a tie between Rory and Lyulf as they growled at each other once reaching the forest once more. "I beat you by a mile, pup!" The Beta growled.

Lyulf grabbed Rory by his scruff and tugged gently, "There's a reason I'm a Scout, old man."

Our ears perked back as the sound of a click echoed throughout the woods. I turned my head to see where the noise was coming from and was met with a rifle pointed straight at me."

"Run!" Lyulf howled.

I heard my friends response, but as I heard them take off running back into the open field and towards the other side of the river, my paws were glued to the ground.

I didn't take my eyes off the human that stood in front of me, I kept my stance as I looked back mesmerized.

After what felt like forever, but was probably a couple of minutes the gun was lowered.

"I don't believe it.."

I sat down, tilting my head to the side. What couldn't this human believe?

As the weapon was lowered completely and placed against the tree, I raised my head and took in a deep breathe.

I couldn't smell any testosterone, which clearly stated that the human in front of me was female. If that wasn't an obvious sign then her height clearly was.

She held her hands out as if to show me that she meant no harm, as one step was taken closer to me, I took a few steps back.

"What is a Eastern Timber wolf doing with two Tundra wolves and a Grey wolf?"

I whimpered taking a few more steps back, it was then the human decided to sit down on the ground, becoming eye level with me.

A light growl wanted to come out of my chest as I wasn't sure if I was being challenged or not. She was at my eye level, and that could mean multiple things. I could attack so easily that she wouldn't have time to react to my sudden movements.

I walked slowly up to her, looking at the hand that was held out to me. Okami had been completely wrong, this human was hardly showing any of this naked skin he was talking about.

Once I was standing right in front of her, I sat down cautiously.

My eyes looked back and forth between both hands, seeing if there was a weapon in either of them. Satisfied that there wasn't, my curiosity got the best of me as I lowered my head and placed my nose above her hand.

I breathed in a few short breathes, each one more inviting then the last. My head began to feel dizzy, heart beating fast, there was tingling in my front paws.

I lowered my head more and placed the side of my face into her palm, my entire body felt like it was in shock as I felt her fingers begin to softly pet and scratch my fur.

A small huff escaped my muzzle as I began to lie down.

A loud howl echoed across the open field from across the other side of the forest, that is what snapped me out of the daze I had fallen into.

Panic overtook my whole body as I got up and immediately ran off into the direction I came from.

I didn't stop running until I made it to the river, my nerves were so shot that I didn't care about the shallow end of the river as I jumped in and swam across like the other pack mates had.

As I lifted myself up on to the other side, Rory was looking at me with fear in his eyes, like he hadn't expected me to come back.

I didn't stop to talk to him as we both took off towards home.

----

I had made a mistake by not washing my face off in the river when I made it back to our pack.

Everyone had distanced themselves away from me, even my friends.

It wasn't until Arik had knocked me over on to my back and forced his paws on my chest, fangs wrapped around my throat that I realized I had become a threat, coming back and smelling partially like a human.

If it wasn't for Lyulf gaining enough courage to step out and growl at our Alpha, I may have been killed on the spot.

The two stared at each other, growling back and forth, surprisingly Arik was the one to step away first.

Rory and Okami came over and helped me up, I whimpered knowing blood was soaking my fur.

"How did you not get shot by the human?" Okami asked.

"She was so..beautiful." a whine escaped my muzzle at the thought of her.

Rory chuckled, "Arik must've bitten you pretty hard. Did you just call a human beautiful?"

I couldn't help but smile, "She smelled good, I just wanted to be closer to her. When I had gotten less than a foot away, I felt my heart beat so fast and my paws were tingling. I felt like my whole body was in shock."

"Uh oh." Okami took a step away from me.

I looked over at him, dazed. "W-What is it?"

Rory and Okami looked at each other before looking at me, "You're attracted to the human."

My ears perked back, and another whine left my muzzle.

----

Another meeting had been called, I stood beside my friends as the Alpha of our pack 'Hayden' began to speak.

"It is no longer safe here, we are too close to humans. We must leave this territory immediately. Once we are in our new location, anyone who ventures out to seek the humans will be taught a lesson." Hayden's eyes glanced past Stryker as he spoke.

"Humans have lowered the numbers in our pack, they are a threat. If you see one, run away quickly. If you are unable to escape, strike to kill. Stay in numbers, we are stronger together when we're not alone."

I lowered my head at the Alpha's orders, I watched as soon as he was finished with his speech that pack members began to follow him as they began to head East.

I turned and looked back into the forest where this human had moved in, a small whine escaped me as I felt like I was running away from something that could change everything about my life.

Rory used his muzzle to lift my head up, "Stryker, we have no choice but to move on. You gotta forget about it."

I nodded my head, before lifting myself up on to my paws and following the rest of the pack as we began to move.
