the 47th race
4 reviewsOnce again, Archie's curiosity gets the best of him when he's under a spell and is now on Cronus' side. Who will be able to stop Archie from destroying the team and bring him back? A/A maybe J/T(so...

Archie could feel the wind in his face and his leg muscles burning as he
attempted to pass his much faster friend, Atlanta. He could only see everything he
passed as a colourful blur. But no matter how hard he pushed his burning muscles
he could not keep up with his fiery-haired friend. He may have been fast, but
Atlanta was faster, something she would never EVER let him forget.
Finally they came to the finish line. As usual, Atlanta won.
She smirked as Archie crossed the finish line five seconds after she did,
" Atlanta, forty-seven wins, Archie, zero."
Archie gasped for breathe with his hands on his knees, " Gee I had no idea
you were keeping track."
Atlanta laughed, " I'll stop keeping track when you actually win which should
probably be... race #189?"
" Very funny," said Archie, settling himself down on a park bench, " I'm not
the one with the inhuman speed."
" Then why do you bother racing?" asked Atlanta, her smile growing wider.
" Everybody else is too slow," said Archie.
Atlanta sighed, "I see your point. Race you back to Brownstone?"
Archie shook his head, " I think I'll stay here a while to catch my
breathe."
Atlanta shrugged, " Okay see ya later!" and she zoomed away so fast, a normal
person would have thought see just disappeared. But Archie was used to it.
He rubbed his aching legs. He knew he shouldn't push his muscles too hard,
but he couldn't help it. He knew he would probably never beat Atlanta in a race,
but he raced her anyways. Not just because he was determined to actually beat her
(he could never resist a challenge), but because it was one way he could enjoy her
company without it being awkward.
Everyone knew Archie had feelings for Atlanta. Well except for Atlanta,
herself. Being the type of girl who didn't date a lot, Atlanta was a little
oblivious to Archie's feelings. Not that Archie minded (he was way to nervous to
ask her out), but sometimes it frustrated him to no end when he left her hints
but she just didn't get it.
Archie sighed. Maybe someday he would tell her everything, but for now they
would just remain friends. With that he got up and walked back to brownstone,
not knowing that the 'someday' might come soon.
