"So, that means I am eating in the presence of greatness?"

Madilyn smirked, blushing as she shrugged it off "well, I am great but, nothing as you're making me seem"

"Twenty three, and you own a multi-million dollar company..?" Joe shook his head, as he took a few bites of his food. The woman he had been so captivated over at the store, had just completely floored him. She was intelligent, well spoken, sweet, and successful. "sounds like greatness to me"

"thank you, but it isn't a multi-million dollar company- yet" Madilyn added. "we handle major campaigns, but I always strive to do better." She surprised herself at how much she had already told him about herself. Madilyn knew she should stop. The more she said, the more time and emotion they invested in each other and she just couldn't afford that time, or the emotion. There was just too much responsibility and problems she came with to get involved with this guy, well any guy for that matter. "So what about you? Do you have any aspirations with your band? I mean it's a dream right? So why not try to accomplish and experience full success"

Joe laughed, and rubbed the back of his neck. He had tried the whole time they ate to avoid talking about himself. It wasn't that he was ashamed of who he was or what he did. Joe loved being in Fall Out Boy, he loved the guys but with that love came much responsibility and pressure. Finding a girl to actually like him for nothing more than "Joe" was a rarity and not one he wanted to give up that easily. "it is a dream, and the band is in a good place right now we.." he had started when he heard a phone ring.

"OH! I am so sorry, I need to take this,...excuse me." she apologized as she picked up the phone. Joe welcomed the interruption. He was not one to lie, and even stretching the truth was a stretch for him.

"You're kidding me..?" Madilyn rubbed her forehead, as she looked down at the table, her hand covering his face. "Now? Yes, ..okay. Just keep her there and tell her I am on my way. I understand.." Madilyn waited for the person to continue "Thank you. Goodbye" Looking up her eyes were instantly met by Joe's concerned blue ones.

"Is everything okay?" he asked, not just being polite but it seemed from the phone call that something had happened.

"It will be" Madilyn frowned "I am soo sorry that I have to cut this lunch short.." she opened up her bag "But I have to go. Thank you soo much for your help at the Washburn's store, without you there I am sure I would have bought the wrong guitar." Placing more than enough money on the table plus tip she looked back up at him. "It was a pleasure meeting you Joe, and Good Luck with your band" Madilyn stood up.

"wait.." Joe quickly stood up and grabbed her arm, not roughly but just to get her to stop. "Um, I know this may be really asking a lot but can I have your number. I mean I would love to, you know maybe call you sometime.." He felt so nervous asking. They had just met maybe two hours ago and they did have wonderful conversation but it really wasn't in him to have 'game'.

She gave him a small smile as she looked back at him, then frowned "That is really sweet, but I don't think so, I am sorry. I just.." Madilyn was cut off by him.

"Why not? I mean your brother needs to learn to play guitar. I don't mind helping him. " Joe explained. He did not want her getting away without getting her number. "You, yourself said I was an expert."

Looking down at her watch, Madilyn quickly took out her wallet to retrieve a card, as she easily found her pen scribbling something on the back. She didn't have the time to fight him. "here is my business card, work number and my cell is on the back. Thank you..but I am sorry. I really do need to go. Goodbye Joe." Clutching her back tightly, Madilyn ran off to get her car. As much as she was having a good time, responsibility always came first.

"Are you not going to talk to me?" Madilyn asked as she drove, looking over to the person in the passenger seat.

"Why?" they crossed their arms, eyes directed out the window "So you can get angry and yell?"

"I'm not" she sighed, as they stopped at a stop light. "Just please tell me what happened. Why did it happen"

"because of you, okay?" they snapped, anger and tears rimming the innocent eyes " It's all your fault! I am not normal, I don't want to be here. I want to be home, home where I am supposed to be! My real home! I hate it here, I hate being with you and I hate you!" the voice raising as they turned back out the window.

Madilyn swallowed hard, blinking back her own tears that threatened to fall as she directed as much attention as she could back to traffic. She was doing the best she could with what she knew. "I am sorry you feel that way, but I love you."
