It had rained while Sakura was asleep. She woke, sitting up and groaning.

Rubbing her eyes, she looked around the cave she slept in. Running from the village happened after all. She wondered if anyone was looking for her. Probably not. The whole village was full of selfish people.

Take Sasuke. Sure, she had a crush on him growing up, but after a while, Sakura realized he was a brat. A self centered, revenge focused brat.

Walking out, she ran through the forest at random. She wanted to live somewhere else, but doesn't know where. She couldn't live in another village, she's still technically a genin of the leaf.

Pausing at a river, Sakura knelt to drink

Itachi was walking through the forest when he heard something by the river. When he approached, he saw a girl about twelve, with pin hair and a Hidden Leaf headband. Quietly grabbing a kunai, he pointed the tip at the nape of her neck.

"Who are you?"

She froze, water spilling out of her hands, raising them slowly before answering.

"Sakura Haruno. A former member of the Hidden Leaf."

"Former?"
"I left. I hated it there."

Her head moved slightly, showing a part of a massive scar on her cheek. Oh. Itachi now her. She was one of the kids who followed Sasuke around.

"Stand up slowly and face me."

Sakura obeyed, facing the black-robed ninja. Her eyes widened in recognition before going back to neutral. "What do you want from me?" Her tone was steady, even though she was showing signs of nervousness.

"I'm taking you to see our leader. We're currently looking for new recruits."

She blinked in surprise before nodding. She stuck out her arms, as if she was waiting for something. "Aren't you going to tie my hands?"

Itachi shook his head. "I don't need to."

With that, the two ninjas too off into the trees.

"You want me to recruit this brat?"

Pein stood with his arms crossed, glaring at the girl Itachi brought.

"Yes Leader-sama. I believe she has great potential."

The Uchiha was standing behind Sakura, who was shaking at the orange-haired man who's glare never faltered.

"Prove it girl."

Sakura swallowed. "Hm?"

"Prove you are no longer loyal to your village, but to us, the Akatsuki."

The pin haired girl paused, before looking at Itachi. "May I use your kunai?"

Itachi handed it over, which the girl accepted. She took off her headband, placing the kunai on the metal of the protector.

"I, Sakura Haruno, as of today, am no longer a member of the Village of the Hidden Leaf, but to the Akatsuki."

She slashed through the symbol of the village, which Pein approved with a nod. "Good. Do not expect it to be easy. Itachi, you and Kisame can teach her."

"Of course Leader-sama."

Pein turned to the pink-haired girl who was tying her headband back on. "I expect results. You can be banished."

Sakura nodded, a slight smile showing. "Yes Leader-sama."
