Dream sequence
0 reviewsAN: Manic listening to his music way too loud was inspired by my dad doing the same thing. Also, I try to add real hedgehog facts to my work since I have a hedgehog named Jax.

Sonia's eyes snapped open once loud music started playing. "Manic." She again, Manic was awake when his siblings were trying to sleep and he couldn't be quiet at all.
Sonia pulled her pillow over her head. "Manic!"
"Try to ignore it, sis." Sonic said.
"Can't he put in his earbuds or something?" Sonia asked.
Sonic leaned over and looked down into Manic's bunk.
Manic had his earbuds in his ears as he bobbed his head along with the music in the video he was watching on his phone.
"He has them in his ears." Sonic said.
"Then tell him to turn down the- no, tell him to turn it off." Sonia said. "I've heard the Rise album so much... I'm sick of it."
"Well, you heard the song." Sonic replied. "Raise your hands."
Sonia huffed. "This is not funny."
"I don't get why this bothers you." Sonic said. "It helps me go to sleep."
Sonia got up and tried to get Manic's attention by waving at him.
Of course, he was paying more attention to the video than her.
As soon as Sonia heard the words "sick of it" in the song again, she lost it.
"So! Am! I!" Sonia yelled.
Manic fell out of his bunk. "Whoa, sis, what's your problem?"
"Do you have to ask?" Sonia asked. "Every single night for the past month, you've been robbing me of my beauty sleep."
Manic noticed the dark circles under her eyes. "You totally need some sleep."
Sonia seethed. "Well, I could get it if it wasn't for you making noise every night." She snapped. "I've had to hear you watch TV, listen to music, and drum in your sleep. Oh, last night, you were trimming your nasty toenails in bed."
"I have to agree with her on the last one." Sonic said.
"I'm sorry." Manic replied. "I'm still not used to everyone being asleep at night. You do know the natural hedgehog schedule is it to be asleep during the day, right?"
"Oh, wow, I'm surprised you knew that." Sonia said sarcastically. "I guess you stole a textbook once."
Manic narrowed his eyes. "Hey, I'm not stupid just because I didn't go to some fancy school."
"Alright, just go back to bed, Sonia." Sonic said. "His video is off."
Manic groaned. "You made me miss it." He said. "I waited weeks for that."
"Then you should've turned the volume down to start with." Sonia muttered. She crawled back into her bed.
Sonic turned over and pulled his blanket back up.
Manic put on his trenchcoat and beanie. He grabbed his hoverboard and phone before heading out to go for a ride.
He knew he wasn't supposed to go out at night alone, but Sonic went out alone all the time. It didn't make any sense to Manic since Sonic's cockiness could lead to him making a mistake at some point.
He turned on his phone to play some music as he rode around. He selected his favorite song and took off.

An hour into his ride, Manic was blissfully unaware of the swatbots and Dingo's search ship following right behind him.
A laser blast hit the hoverboard, taking off a small part of the back of the board.
Manic nearly fell off; he managed to grab the side of it with both hands and pulled himself back on the board. He looked back and saw the swatbots. He reached for his medallion and realized he left it back in the van.
The hoverboard crash landed into the canyon floor before Manic could do anything about it.
Manic rolled off the board and groaned. He felt something grab his arms.
Sleet had his right arm and Dingo had his left arm.
Sleet glanced at Manic's T-shirt, which had the words "I regret nothing" written on the front.
Sleet chuckled. "Robotnik will give you something to regret."
Manic huffed and tried to curl into a ball, though that was impossible since he couldn't pull his arms in. So he was dragged along, kicking and screaming, so to speak. His phone fell out of his backpack as he was being led away.

Sonia peered into Manic's bunk. "Manic, do you- he's not here." She said. "Did he say he was going anywhere?"
"Not that I remember." Sonic said. "His hoverboard is gone. He's probably out riding, even though he knows not to go out alone."
"We better go look for him." Sonia replied. She found Manic's medallion on the table and picked it up. "He forgot his medallion."
"I'll look for him." Sonic said, getting ready to run. "Be back in a Mobius minute."
Sonic ran off.
Before Sonia could start the van, Sonic came back with Manic's phone (with the damaged earbuds still plugged in) and what was left of his hoverboard.
"Where is he?" Sonia asked, hyperventilating.
"One of their vehicles left huge tire prints." Sonic replied. "Follow me."
Sonia quickly started the van and followed Sonic to Robotnik's headquarters.
