"Elena!"
"Grrr....what?"
"I fell off my bed."
"Are you okay?"
"No."
"Are you okay?"
"Yes."
"Do you want me to turn the T.V. back on?"
"Yes."
"Okay. I'm leaving it on for half an hour."
"Okay."

Lilee unlocked the door to her house. The livingroom was empty.

"Dad?" She called. She walked into the kitchen. "Jared?" She heard music coming from his room. "Dad?" She walked into his room to find him looking at pictures.

She gave him a hug.

He sighed. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah." She said. "More importantly...are you okay?"

"Umm...yeah. You know how much I'd like to say you look like your mom. But..." He laughed. "You don't."

"Oh." She looked at the ground.

"I didn't mean to make you run away."

"I know...I...had a lot on my mind and...I needed to get away."

He nodded. "I shouldn't have freaked out on you like that. You can blame me."

"I don't need to."

"For the past 2 days I've been getting calls if you were dead..."

Lilee's eyes widened. "Why?"

"Apparently because...this flyer has been going around."

"Oh...that." She said. "Remember Nikki?" Jared nodded. "Her family...was kind of..out for me."

"Well, you guys are..kind of related. Her father is your mom's brother."

Lilee's mouth dropped open.

"I know."

"Just...why? Why do they want me dead? What did I do to them?"

Jared sighed. "Your the reason that your mom's dead..."

"Huh?"

"When you were born...she died. Nobody knew why...she just..did."

A tear fell from Lilee's eyes.

"I was 19, going on 20. Apparently it didn't work out."

"So..if I wasn't here...mom would still be alive."

"Don't say that!" He yelled. "You are the best thing that could've happened to me."

Lilee put on a small smile.

"If I was able to turn back time..I wouldn't."

Lilee leaned on Jared a little bit.

"I thought I'd tell you, you're old enough now."

"I only yelled at you because I didn't want to lose you." He said. "I don't know what I'd do."

"Well, here's something I've never told you."

"What?"

"I never liked your career. I never liked who you dated. Scarlette Johanson...Lindsay Lohan. Esspecially her because she's only a few years older than me."

Jared sighed. "Why not?"

"They were always...kinda bitchy to me."

"You never told me."

"They said you payed too much attention to me than them."

Jared shook his head.

"I might've been the reason they dumped you."

"Well, then I'm glad they dumped me."

They both laughed.

"You might hate me for this...but...I've been thinking about moving."

"What? Why?"

"We're..not really safe here. You don't have a lot of friends."

"Yeah." She sighed. "But where were you thinking about moving."

"Vegas."

Lilee's eyes lit up. "Really?"

"Yeah. I mean. I can't force you to go where you don't wanna go."

Lilee hugged him. "I'll start looking." She smiled.

The next day at school...

Everyone was paying attention to Lilee. Asking her if she was alright. Ignoring Nikki.

Lilee was finally approached by Nikki.

"Hey." Nikki said.

"Umm..hey." Lilee decided to go with it.

"I'm sorry I ditched you when you had that fight."

"No, it's okay. I got outta there in one piece."

"Good, friends?"

Lilee put on a serious face. "You expect me to be friends with you? After I find out you and your family want me dead?"

"Lilee, no! Listen-"

"No! I now know that you were using me! Anyways. I'm moving...far away from you!"

"What? Where!"

"I'm not telling you!"

"But-you're my best friend."

"Not anymore!" Lilee started to walk away.

"I don't want you dead!"

Lilee ignored her and continued to walk. Hopefully Vegas had a better future for her. Hopefully...she still had a few months.
