Get Backers Chapter II: An unexpected hello


We start the day off with our money clingy Ban Mido, and carefree Ginji Amano at their favorite place, Honky Tonk.

Ban and Ginji sitting around, and Natsumi cleaning the place.

Ban: "Why are we always sitting here?"
Ginji: "Why? I thought you wanted to stay because of what Natsu"

upon remembering about before, Ban quickly covers Ginji's mouth and tries to shut him up before he finished his line.

Ban: "(wha..what are you trying to do?"
Ginji: "(Well I figured that you'd like to stay because of what she said yesterday"
Ban: "(Wha..what!? Are...are you kidding. I don't have those kind of emotions to throw around like you do."

Ginji: "(well ok then Ban-chan.)"

Just then Natsumi who became curious came up to them asking,

Natsumi: "Hey, what are you guys talking about?"
Ban: "Ah it it's nothing. Don't worry about it, ok"
Ginji: "Oh Natsumi. We were just talking about you."

Natsumi: "Hmm? About me? What about me?"
Ginji: "Well Ban was saying how cu..."
Ban: "We were saying how uh...a great worker you are here."

Natsumi: "Oh, thank you."

"Hey! what are you guys doing?"

Pual who was behind the counter, too overhead the three friends talking.

Ban: "Hey. Since when did we all became friends?"
Author: "Just go along with the story ok?"
Ban: "Hmph. Fine"

Natsumi: "Oh, sorry boss."
Ban: "Hey Pual? Have you heard anything from Hevn yet?
Pual: "No. Nothing yet."
Natsumi: "Hevn?"
Ban: "She's like our agent or someone who gets us clients."

Natsumi: "ohh...I see."

Ding ding! A cooking clock suddenly went off in the kitchen.

Natsumi: "Ah, my blueberry pie is finished!"
Ban & Ginji: "Blue...Berry...Pie."
Natsumi: "Mm-hmm. It's to celebrate your success from the day before.

Ban: "I guess that's...uh acceptable."
Ginji: "Yay! Finally some food!"
Pual: "Natsumi...make sure you don't feed them too often."
Natsumi: "He he. Don't worry boss. (I have something for them to do in return too.)"

Unaware of what Natsumi had in mind, Ban and Ginji eagerly await for Natsumi to return.

Ginji: "Oh yeah...Ban-chan?"
Ban: "Hmm?"
Pual: "Isn't your favorite pie..."
Ginji: "Blueb-e-r-r-y pie."

Ban who just realized this became a little curious to what they were trying to say.

Ban: "Yeah and your point is?"
Ginji: "Isn't it a little strange that Natsumi is making a Blueberry, and your favorite is blueberry pie?"
Pual: "Yeah, I think that's a little strange too. Either it's a coincidence or maybe you both like the same kind of pie?"

Ban who is now blushing a little says,

Ban: "What the heck are you guys going on about! There is now way we could like the same thing."
Ginji: "Well maybe it's not that she likes it but maybe it's for someone special."
Pual: "Hmm. That's sounds a lot more like it."

Ban: "Argh...would you two stop talking about me and Natsumi! Besides I stopped loving people a long time ago."
Ginji: "Ban-chan. The things you say nowadays."

Just then, Natsumi comes out from the kitchen to serve her hand made Blueberry pie.

Natsumi: "OOOO-Kaaaay. Time for some blueberry pie everyone."
Ban & Ginji: "Allllllll riiiiight!"
Pual: "I think I'll pass"
Ban: "Fine I'll eat it."
Natsumi: "Ah..but Ban. I wanted his since he doesn't want it anymore."
Ban: "That's too bad you can't have any. Now give me Puals slice!"
Natsumi: "Not unless I still have it."

Ban then tries to grab the plate that Natsumi is desperatly trying to protect from the hungry Ban.

Ban: "Natsumi! Stay still!"
Natsumi: "No. If I did that, you'll grab my slice from me!"
Ban: "No I won't I just want to have my slice."
Natsumi: "You already ate your slice Ban."
Ban: "So what? I'm still hungry. Now hand over that pie!"

For awile, Ban and Natsumi chase each other around the place until the unexpected happend.

Natsumi: "Ahhh, Ban! Look out for that wet spot on the floor!"
Ban: "Like I'm going to fall for that!"

Despite her warning. Ban slips on the slippery floor.

Ban: "Wha..Whoaaaaaaa."
Natsumi: "Ahhh. Ban wait! You're going to run into..."

Ban, unable to stop, collides into Natsumi and they both fall to the ground.

Ban & Natsumi: "uhh..."

Ban: "Natsumi..."
Natsumi: "Yes?"

Ban: "GIVE ME THAT PIE!!"
Natsumi: "No, it's mine."

Still struggling to keep the pie, Natsumi and Ban then realize what kind of position they were in. Ban found himself on top of Natsumi.

Natsumi: "Umm...Ban?"
Ban: "ah..."
Natsumi: "Your face got a little dirty from the floor."

She then wipes his face with her special handcloth which causes him to blush a little.

Just then someone came in the building saying,

"Ban!! It's me! Himiko!

Ban: "Eh! This...is...bad."

Paul & Ginji: "Ooooh. This is interesting."

Himiko suprised to see Ban and Natsumi together on the ground raised her suspicion (and her anger) to another level.

Himiko: "geh...BAN? WHAT..ARE..YOU...DOING?

Ban: "oooh. Not...good."
