::Cut off by ringtone::
I took my phone out of my purse and couldn't help but let a smile escape from my lips as I checked the caller id.
Andy nodded "The Boyfriend."
Pete smiled "Oh, she's got a boyfriend."
"...with a speech impediment."
I shot Andy a playful look "He does not!! I told you... he burned his tongue on hot chocolate, it happens to everyone."
"So why arn't you answering it?"
Truth was, I was dying to talk to him, but I wasn't sure how he'd react if he overheard four older guys in the backround... especially on my first day there.
"I'm gonna go home and call him... you know, privacy." I smiled at the boys and turned to leave. "It was really great meeting you all, hopefully we can hang out sometime soon. I can definitely use people like you - I have a feeling it's gonna get pretty boring."
Pat with the hat turned to me and smiled "We'll all be here tomorrow - we're gonna just stay over and hang out more. Just stop by." He was leaning on his elbows, which rested on the counter and was looking up at me through his thick rimmed glasses. He was very genuine.
"Okay ... that sounds fun, I'll stop by later tomorrow. I guess I'll have to wait to hear about your band then." I remembered my ringtone had cut Pete off right before he could tell me about it.
Joe smiled "Yeah well no worries, it's nothing special anyways."
"Oh who knows? Little jam bands turn out to be bigger things all the time, and I can say I knew you when!" I turned to leave "Have a good night guys! See you tomorrow."

"Hey baby... you called?"
My grandmother was still asleep in the chair so I lowered my voice down to a whisper and went up to my room.
Into the conversation, Mitch asked me if I had yet to meet anybody.
"Yeahh actually I did! Grandma has a neighbor named Andy and he's in a band with some guys. My grandma's dog ran out of the house a while ago and they helped me look for him. They're pretty cool... kinda nerdy... but they're fun."
"Just guys?"
Mitch wasn't the jealous type... he was probably just being cautious.
"Yeah - the band is all guys. There are four of them, Pete, Patrick, Joe, and Andy is the one who lives next door."
I heard Mitch laugh and say "That's weird."
"What's weird?"
"Nah, you wouldn't get it ... just the names are funny."
I didn't know what he was talking about, there wasn't really anything that funny about any of those names. "Uhm okay... anyway, what's new with you?"
We chatted for hours and exchanged mushy words on who missed the other one more, never really being officially solved. I really missed him and it was great to hear his voice.
I woke up the next morning with my phone opened on my pillow. It wasn't the first time I had fallen asleep on the phone with Mitch; when we were apart for a week while I was on vacation without him, I talked to him every night, falling asleep during the conversation for 3 of those nights. He understood and more than likely listened to the sound of me breathing before he decided to call it quits himself.
It was 11:30 and the light was shining through my window... pretty much the only thing that could wake me up. I showered quickly and got ready.
There was a note on the kitchen counter from grandma -
Audrey,
I went to the grocery store. I was going to wait until you woke up to see if you wanted anything inparticular, but I just couldn't wait any longer.
Love, Grandma
I sighed, wishing I had woken up a little earlier to give an input on what kind of food I actually liked. I rumaged through the cabinets and found absolutely nothing but the leftovers of what grandma called dinner last night. No fucking way.
Jasper was whining at the back door so I decided I'd let him out and get some fresh air myself. While outside, I couldn't help but peek through the tiny hole in the back fence to see if there was any sign of my new friends. Well, what I hope would soon be my new friends anyway. I got a taste of a new friendship on my first day here with four really kick ass gents, how can I not want more? /Nope, nobody there/.
The boys were probably still sleeping in... they were boys, that's what they do. They do drugs and sleep and talk about music and porn and video games. Boys.
Jasper was finished and I took him back inside just as my grandmother was walking in the front door with groceries. I swear to god I almost choked on my water and dropped the bottle when I saw what she was wearing.
She was standing there wearing a t-shirt that said 'Fall Out Boy Is For Lovers' under her gray sweater jacket, cane and all. What the fuck?!
"Grandma what are you wearing?!" I couldn't help but laugh.
"I'm wearing my Fall Out Boy shirt"
"And where did you get a Fall Out Boy shirt?"
"Andy gave it to me - isn't he great?!"
Andy?! I was so confused, I needed a minute to piece things together. Nope, still not happening. There was no way that what I was thinking was actually for real, right? This needed more investigating...
"Why did Andy give you a Fall Out Boy t-shirt?" I grabbed the groceries out of her hand and placed them on the counter.
"That's his band... I love those boys. They are just so sweet, I could listen to their music for hours."
No, no way. Those boys were not Fall Out Boy... the actual Fall Out Boy.
I did the first thing that anybody in my situation would do, I ran up to my laptop and looked up Fall Out Boy's myspace (duh). There they were... Pete, Joe with the fro, Pat with the hat, and Andy himself.
Oh my god, I'm such an idiot.
