Chapter four: "Drama Queen Self"
I don't own Class of the Titans

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Alright, please review this chappter, because I tried a different writing skill, to go beyond my comfort zone. So you know, please don't laugh at my pathetic attempt to write, and please tell me if it is any good. Thanks Magic144

Everyone gathered around Theresa and gave her a friendly embrace. Jay enjoyed the moment of warmth and the scent of vanilla, but remembered where he was. He immediately pulled away; a light, yet noticeable red had consumed his face. Theresa paid no attention to this slight sign of affection, for she had more important issues on her mind.

Archie staggered toward her, but instead of embracing her with welcome, yelled at her. "What the hell happened? We were all worried that you were kidnapped!" Archie's veins were now visible from the impulsion of his fury. He didn't know why he had such an outburst, even before Jay. Perhaps it was guilt from earlier, or maybe more, but he felt over-protective of her.

Theresa, along with the others stared at him in bewilderment. They all expected this reaction from Jay, heck, Jay expected it from himself. She sighed deeply; she was weak, and wanted to burst into oceans of tears. But she held them back with full force.

"Yah, why weren't you here in the morning, Theresa?" asked Atlanta

"And what was wrong with you're pmr?" asked Odie.
Theresa shifted on each foot uneasily. "Well, I decided to go through the park, and then..." Theresa hesitated. She wanted with all her might to say everything. Her vision, the code, her fight with Cronus, but something disabled the truth from flowing from her mouth. Instead her words were morphed into a devious yet reasonable lie.

"I felt really tired, and fell asleep on a bench, I guess my pmr fell and broke, sorry guys." She smiled, but guilt was flashing in her eyes.

"Well, the important thing is you're ok." stated Jay "Now lets go do some combat practice."

There were a few mumbles of protest, but they continued toward the janitor's closet.
"I just need to use the restroom" said Theresa flatly.

Archie had made an excuse to go get his gym bag from his locker. However, he really just wanted to follow Theresa. He wasn't sure why, but he figured that things aren't always as they seem with her.

Theresa stepped to open the bathroom door. Archie saw her turn her head towards his direction. He could make out the tears enveloped in her eyes. They trickled down the side of her cheek, and as they crept downward they became a deep red. Archie watched in awe as her tears that shed were tears of blood.

His heart thumped loudly, as if it were the steady beat of a base drum.

Thump... thump... thump... thump... thump...

It was gradually getting louder as they deepened each others gaze.

Thump... Their hearts began to beat as one, to beat in unison. Her heart beat at a rhythm of a snare drum, every beat his heart thumped, hers thumped twice.

Thump thump-thump...Thump thump-thump...Thump thump-thump...

It gradually became louder, so loud that blurs of students passing by were silent.

Thump thump-thump...Thump thump-thump...Thump thump-thump...

The crowded hall began to fade. It was dark as coloured blurs sped by them, they're forms foreign to them at the moment.

Archie and Theresa's hearts became a symphony, Theresa being the melody, Archie the harmony. Together the music sounded beyond Bache, or Mozart, to something greater, something pure.

The blood flowing through they're veins became the sweet flow of violins mixed with the deepening sound of the cello. Horns now began to blare as the rolling of the symbol went from soft, to ear deafening, to a brilliant drum roll. They're breathing patterns were now the flute and the clarinet, softly playing the highest notes on the page, while intertwining. They're eyes never averted from one another's, hearts still beating
Thump thump-thump...

Archie's eyes watered but he didn't care; it was as if, they were sharing the same emotions.

Thump thump-thump...

Then, as the music was creeping towards the climax of the song, something appeared.

Thump thump-thump...

Theresa's soul stepped out on the dance floor, dressed appropriately for an old- fashioned ball.

Thump thump-thump...

Archie's soul stepped out from him as the violins took over the melody. He was wearing a coal coloured tuxedo, with a piercing silver tie.

Thump thump-thump...

Archie and Theresa watched with awe, as their souls, free to do as they please, waltzed in front of them. They're bodies rested immobile, frozen in time, as they're eyes watched with disbelief.

The song began to increase its speed, as Archie's soul twirled Theresa's soul, her hair gliding every where. They did the steps perfectly, they're souls' eyes transfixed on one another, never watching the ground. It seemed as if they were shadows, showing them something through psychic pathways.
Thump thump-thump-Thump thump-thump- Thump thump-thump...

The music was now at the highest point of the peak of the melodious rhythm.

Thump thump-thump-Thump thump-thump- Thump thump-thump...

Archie's eyes widened as he witnessed his soul bending Theresa's soul in a deep, passionate kiss. Not a dirty kiss, not a cute kiss, but a kiss that says 'I'm here for you'.

Theresa felt a masculine taste brush on her lips, as she saw her soul making love to Archie's soul. They both felt they're bodies' heat up, even if they weren't the ones dancing.

Thump thump-thump-Thump thump-thump- Thump thump-thump...

Archie felt the sweet taste of vanilla-strawberry enter his lips and fulfill his taste buds.

They're souls finally let go of each others embrace as the violins and cello ceased to play, the horns stopped blowing, and the clarinet and flute ended with a solid note. They're souls reluctant to return to they're bodies, slowly parted, while letting go of each others hands.
The music became slower as Theresa's soul re-entered her body, and Archie's returned to him. There came a quick hiatus, a pause...and then...

Thump thump-thump...Thump thump-thump...Thump thump-thump...

Theresa's heart's beats slowly started to fade from hearing.

Thump thump-thump...Thump thump-thump...Thump thump-thump...

Until finally, all Archie could hear was his own heart beating, as the base drum felt lonely, and decreased in sound.

Thump ...Thump ...Thump ...

Theresa gazed at Archie, questioning if he had witnessed, no...felt what she just had. She turned and slowly continued her way into the bathroom, leaving a mass of wood for Archie to stare at.

Thump ...Thump ...Thump ...

Archie gradually saw forms and figures around him shape into people. He took a deep breath, as he hadn't for the long while. He shook his head wildly and glanced around, 'Did that just happen?' he thought to himself.

Theresa gasped for breath, as if she just came up from the depths of the ocean. She didn't understand what just happened, and wasn't sure if she should believe it. Her heart belonged to Jay, not Archie, so what was all that about? No, she'd have to avoid Archie at all costs, so she could figure things out.

She remembered the musical pattern, as if it were just a dream...a fairytale. Then she remembered that she had something even more important to question. She could only visualize so well the coded message etched in her mind. She needed to know what it meant, and if it was as significant as it felt.

Just then, Theresa swore she heard a faint yet powerful chuckle. Theresa looked around the washroom; nobody was in the glossy white stalls. Still, as if it were a reaction, or a natural instinct, she whispered a small "Hello?"

There wasn't the slight bit of human presence in the odorous washroom, aside from Theresa. After a moment of piercing silence that overwhelmed Theresa, she turned back around slowly. She gazed up in the mirror to expect more red puffy eyes, and those uncanny tears of blood. Instead, she was dumbstruck at what she saw...nothing.

Meanwhile, the other titans were all waiting impatiently for the descendant of Achilles and the descendant of Theseus. Atlanta was stretching when Jay came up to her.

"Hey Atlanta, could you go and get Theresa, she shouldn't take that long in the bathroom."

"Fine, but what about Archie?" asked Atlanta

"I'll go and get him" Jay continued "I tried to call him on his pmr, but he refused to pick up."

"Don't fuss over them too much Jay, Cronus doesn't know about the school, so stop worrying."

He gave her a reassuring smile, but deep inside he knew something wasn't right. He was the leader, and whenever one of his team members weren't at ease, even if it was discretely, Jay had a feeling. Lately, he was getting that vibe from Theresa, and mildly from Archie. However, he wasn't a clairvoyant, so he had his limits. He heaved a deep sigh as he and Atlanta told the others where they were going.

"Jay, if the others decide to miss my combat practice, that's they're problem, and they'll suffer the consequences later." Stated Ares firmly, "But I can't have the team not practicing."

"Don't worry Ares, we'll drag them back here, and have extra practice tomorrow." replied Jay.

Ares just grunted in dissatisfaction, but didn't protest to the two leaving in search to find they're friends.

"I have a feeling I know where Archie is, but Theresa should be in the restroom."

"I'm on it" responded Atlanta.

They went they're separate ways as they departed. The hallways were empty, since classes were being taught. Atlanta never noticed exactly how the school actually looked when in wasn't jammed with hormone crazed teens. Speaking of hormones, Atlanta was consumed by them for a second time ever since the Pan incident.

She didn't know when the love bug first struck, but she had these incessant feelings, that she couldn't ignore. Atlanta wasn't sure when exactly she was more interested in guys; maybe she grew up a bit more? Who knows? For a about a month she was secretly dating this guy in her chemistry class, and unlike Pan, he wasn't under Cronus's control. The only other soul she told was Theresa, but she had finally decided she'd tell the others at lunch today.

Atlanta turned the corner; it was darker since a light was out. She noticed that the school hallways were rather cleanly, yet it still felt old. However it was the enriching, comforting type of old. Atlanta felt secure here, as she belonged in the massive prism of a school. Her thoughts immediately returned to her boyfriend and then to someone else. Atlanta sighed deeply to herself. She couldn't help but wonder what telling Archie about her current relationship might do to him.

Yes, she knew about his little crush on her. It took her a while (actually to be precise, more than a year) to figure it out. She, secretly, had some inner feelings for him that grew each day. She knew she was oblivious at first, but she continued to act oblivious to his feelings. She had hoped that he liked her but now it was too late. Atlanta had new feelings for a different guy, pretty similar to Archie. Only he had courage to ask her out, and she was extremely flattered. Boys rarely took interest in her, or if they did, she wasn't really interested in them. Atlanta found she was extremely picky when it came to boys. Archie on the other hand, had become more of a brother to her. The way they fought about everything, laughed, and the way he comforted her. Little did Atlanta know how lucky she was until later on...

Theresa was in utter dismay as she gazed into the large slightly smudged mirror. Most people would see their reflection, but all Theresa saw was a mirror. She delicately put her fingertips on the smooth glass. Still there was nothing to be seen, except the reflection of her surroundings. She shook her head rapidly, trying to convince herself she was hallucinating.

"It's just my imagination, it's just a mirage" she reassured herself with these suppositions.

However, every time she glanced up at the mirror, she wasn't there, yet she continued to expect a different result each time. She cried out audibly drenched in a profound frustration.

"You know Archie has a point, you are a major drama queen." A voice echoed within the walls.

"Who said that?" demanded Theresa. However nobody was in sight as she paced around the room.

When she turned around again she was face to face with the voice's owner. Theresa was staring directly at a translucent image of herself. However, it did not appear to have the same expression of bewilderment, but had an expression of derision.

"What's wrong Theresa? Afraid of your own shadow?" asked the image of herself sarcastically.

"W-What are you?"

"Wow, I knew you weren't the brightest girl in the world, but you being this dumb...makes everything so much easier." The shadow continued "It wasn't as if it was difficult in the first place."

"What are you talking about?" Theresa angrily asked.

"I guess I'll cut to the chase, I'm you're shadow, or let's just say, you're other side. You know the side that has been trapped for so many years." It eyes became a lust of vengeance as she continued talking.

"Let's just say, that you have a destiny to fulfill, and it's up to me to force you to fulfill it."
"And what if I refuse" replied the real Theresa with a smirk.

"Oh, well you don't really have a say in the matter, but my time seems to be reaching its end."

The shadow, or imagery of Theresa kept a piercing stare at Theresa, and Theresa didn't flinch as time waned onward.

"Hmmm, stubborn, of course, I should know." stated the shadow.

"Look, I don't want to fight you... yet, but be warned, I will return, when you find out about the message, and your destiny."

"What do you know about the message?" cried Theresa with a vast audacity. Theresa was too late, the reflection of Theresa returned to its rightful place in the mirror. She sighed and turned away, with the stinging words engraved in her mind. Suddenly she felt a rather random yet painful jolt of electricity, as she exerted a cry of agony.
*************
Jay was about to give up his search for Archie, deciding that they kept Ares waiting long enough. Turning round to the direction of the janitor's closet, he walked down the massive stairs, overtaken with dim shadows. He heard an ear piercing cry coming form the opposite end of the corridor. He recognized that cry as soon as he heard it. He ran as fast he could to the girls' washroom.
**************
Archie had run into Atlanta, as she was deep in thought. They both had mind racing thoughts, and feelings. Archie couldn't help but be reminded of the previous incident with Theresa earlier, when he looked at Atlanta. It annoyed the hell out of him, because he felt he had betrayed his love to Atlanta, when he witnessed his soul kiss Theresa's.

They were heading to the restroom, so that Atlanta could get Theresa, when they heard the scream, and noticed a faint figure rapidly jogging towards the source of the scream. They too bolted from a casual walk, to a rapid sprint.
************
Theresa opened her eyes as she heard shuffled feet from the other side of the door. She pondered about the electricity from her body when the door was opened.

"Theresa! Are you ok? We heard you're scream." interrogated Atlanta exasperated.

"Uh? Oh ya sorry...um, I thought I saw...I mean...never mind it's not important."

"Are you sure, you sounded like you were in serious pain." asked Jay concerned.

"I'm fine" Theresa snapped.

"Jeeessssh, he was just asking if you were ok. It's not our fault you're over dramatic even if you see a small, insignificant shadow." bellowed Archie.

He tried to forget about earlier with all his might, and tried acting as he usually would around her.

"I'll tell you what's small and insignificant!" cried Theresa "You and you're stupid ego!"

"Cliché" replied Archie stunned.

Theresa remembered that she was trying to avoid Archie at all costs, due to her confusion. She glared at him, but he refused to even look at her from the corner of his eye.

"I'll meet you guys at the gym." Said Theresa bitter sweetly, and began to run to the janitor's closet.

Jay and Atlanta were going to accompany her, but were stopped abrublty.

"Let her be, she'll be at practice." Continued Archie "She's just being her Drama Queen self."
