1Exciting
Now old desire doth in his death-bed lie,
And young affection gapes to be his heir;
That fair for which love groaned for and would die,
With tender Juliet matched, is now not fair.
Now Romeo is beloved and loves again,
Alike betwitched by the charm of looks,
But to his foe supposed he must complain,
And she steal love's sweet bait from fearful hooks:
Being held a foe, he may not have access
To breathe such vows as lovers use to swear;
And she as much in love, her means much less
To meet her new-beloved any where:
But passion lends them power, time means, to meet
Tempering extremities with extreme sweet.

I don't know about you, but this confuses me.

Now old desire does in his deathbed lie
And young affection longs to be his heir;
That fair for which love longed for and would die,
With our Alicia matched, is now not fair.
Now Mikey is beloved and loves again,
Alike entranced by only charm of looks,
But to his enemy he must complain,
And she steal love's sweet bait from fearful hooks:
Being held a foe, he may not have access
To breathe such words as lovers use to swear;
And she as much in love, her means much less
To meet her new-beloved anywhere;
But passion lends them time and means to meet
Tempering extremities with extreme sweet.

That's better. By now I hope you've realized what this means. Mikey and Alicia are going to be seeing even less of each other than usual, something that will make them both miserable. Hopeless, you say? Hardly. Love - true love, anyway - has a way of working around these things. Continue on, and you'll soon see what I mean.
