I scrolled through my list of missed calls on my phone. My sister Anahita had called me yesterday during the party. Making a mental note to call her later I got up from the couch turning off the T.V. Sarah was still sleeping even though it was noon and Haley was at work. For a moment I sat in the quiet silence listening to the faint sounds of Sarah's Death Cab for Cutie CD. A smile came to my face. It was "What Sarah Said." That always was a great song. "Love is watching you die," A really great way to think about things, because it's true. Peeling myself up off the cushion I went quietly to the closet pulling out a long sleeved black shirt and a worn pair of jeans I laid them out onto my bed. Since I had nothing else better to do why not go out for a bit? After a nice hot shower I was dressed and heading down the street passing by numerous shops and buildings.

A cold wind blew by making me wrap my coat tighter around myself. People passed me by going on about their business. I stopped in front of a pet shop looking down at the puppies that sat in the open cage. A few stood up on their hind legs pressing their little paws onto the glass. They were simply adorable.

Even though I probably couldn't actually take care of a dog with school and stuff I went inside anyway to at least play with those too cute to resist dogs. Inside the small shop the sound of the animals was everywhere. I walked over to the very hyper puppies reaching my hand in. All of them eagerly ran over sniffing my hand.

"I wish I could just take you all home with me." I cooed rubbing the head of a little pug puppy. I remember back when I said I would get a dog and the desire to get one was really getting to me especially when they all would look at me with their adorable little faces.

Now the hard part was to pick one but which one? There were five dogs. A chocolate lab, Australian Shepard, pug, a german shepard, and a Pomeranian puppy. All of them eager for me to chose them so they can find out what it's like beyond the pet shop walls.

"Hmmm..." I tapped my chin thinking.

"You having a hard time choosing?" I turned to see a girl with shoulder length blonde hair and interesting colored eyes. Green with flecks of brown with tan skin. She smiled kindly.

"Uh, yeah." I answered.

"Would you like to play with them all to decide?" She offered. I smiled.

"Sure, I'd like that." She pulled a set of keys out from her pocket unlocking the gate to their cage. As soon as I stepped inside I was swarmed by all of them.

"Gosh, they're all so cute I don't which to pick." That's when I noticed that there was a sixth puppy in the corner all by itself. It was a little Russell terrier puppy. Standing up I walked over to the corner. The small puppy turned looking up at me with curious eyes. It had a brown face with the rest of its body white with a brown splotch on its back.

"Hey little buddy," I whispered sticking out my hand for the puppy to sniff, "it's all right." Hesitantly he stepped up to my hand licking it. A smile came to my face.

"I see you like the little guy."

"I'm definitely taking him home with me."

"He needed a home." She said kneeling down next to me.

"I think I'm gonna name him Sammy." The small dog now known as Sammy barked in approval.

"That's a good name." She replied standing back up. I picked up Sammy cradling his small body in my arms. He looked like he needed someone to take care of him. Someone to tell him they love him every night. After doing the whole adoption process he was now mine.

"Here's a free leash for you and thanks for stopping in." I gave her a quick thank you and put the leash around Sammy's neck. Haley and Sarah would be in for a surprise today but I'm sure they wouldn't mind. Sarah's always wanted a dog and I'm sure Haley will not have a problem with it. Slipping in my ear buds I dug out my ipod and scrolled through my list of songs decided to listen to "I'm walking on sunshine" for no particular reason. As I walked I danced a little with each step with passer bys staring at me a little. Even little Sammy was picking up the beat.

"I used to think baby you love me now baby I'm sure." I sang aloud going further down the street to a more deserted area.

I just can't wait till the day when you knock on my door. Every time I go for the mail box gotta hold myself down cause I just can't wait till you write me you're comin round. I'M WALKIN ON SUNSHINE! WOOOOOAH!! I'M WALKIN ON SUNSHINE!! WOOOOAH! I'M WALKIN ON SUNSHINE AND DON'T IT FEEL GOOD!!!

I looked down and laughed as Sammy jumped up on his hind legs doing a little twirl jamming with me.

"I see someone's having a good time." I whipped around to see a smirking Ray. My face immediately turned a dark scarlet. Sammy barked trying to jump on him with his small legs. Ray knelt down scratching him behind the ear.

"Dude you threw off my groove." I recited from "The Emperor's New Groove." He laughed.

"I'm sorry your majesty." I giggled.

"So when did you get a dog?" He asked.

"I just got him five minutes ago and I named him Sammy."

"Well Sammy seems like a pimpin little dog. Aren't ya!" Sammy barked happily jumping up and down.

"And a hyper little dog." I added.

"So what are you doing out Mr. Toro." I asked.

"Just hanging around doing stuff." He stood back up scratching the back of his fro.

"Really?" I asked quirking my eyebrow. Sammy tugged anxiously on his leash signaling me to keep walking.

"Want to walk Sammy with me?" I offered. Ray looped arms with me.

"Sure." He said in a whisper that sent shivers down my spine. Sammy walked proudly in front of us not stopping to sniff any trees or even chase any cats. It seemed everything around us was melting away and it was only me, Ray, and Sammy.

"Sarah why do we have to watch Moulin Rouge again." I asked leaning against my elbow. Really I didn't mind having to watch Sarah's favorite movie again. My head was too far in the clouds to be bothered by anything actually.

"Well you got to pick last week so it's my turn."

"Then that means I get to pick next week." Haley chimed in all of a sudden.

"Well no scary movies like the Ring." Sarah warned in a low tone.

"Why are ya...scared?" Haley asked wiggling her fingers at Sarah.

"You know what that movie does to me. I won't be able to sleep without the lights and tv on." Sarah whined.

"Well then how about you just close your eyes the whole time." Haley offered. Sarah glared daggers at her.

"I'm still gonna get scared!" While Haley and Sarah had their little fight my cell phone began vibrating in my pocket. The caller I.D. flashed RAY. A smile unknowingly came to my face. Pressing the talk button I held the small silver device up to my ear.

"Hey Ray."

"Are you busy right now?" He asked. I crinkled my eyebrows in confusion.

"No, not really I'm just stuck watching Sarah's favorite movie."

"What movie is that?"

"Moulin Rouge." I answered examining the black nail polish that was beginning to chip. I would need to get my nails done soon.

"Could you meet me outside?"

"Sure." I replied shifting in my seat.

"Great."

"Just gimmie a minute." I closed my phone standing up from the couch slipping out of the room quickly changing out of my sweats and into a black tank, hoodie, and jeans.

"Hey why did you get all dressed up?" Haley asked as soon as I came back in.

"I'm just gonna step outside for a minute." I said trying to get out as fast as possible.

"She's probably goin out to do something with Ray." Sarah said attempting to push my buttons.

"No, I'm just going to go out for a little stroll." I said simply grabbing my purse and heading to the door. Before I closed the door Haley called to me making me blush.

"Use a condom!" I laughed shaking my head as I continued to jog down the hall way so I wouldn't keep him waiting. Right before I came to the front door leading outside I did a quick hair and make up check. Everything was just right. Ray stood outside leaning up against a car.

"So what's this thing you wanna show me?" I asked placing my hand on my hip.

"You'll have to just wait and see." He said opening the door gesturing me to get in.

"Why thank you." I said with a smirk sliding in. Ray came around to the other side getting in. We drove in a comfortable silence listening to the sounds of the radio. It seemed like we had driven forever when Ray came to a stop just before I had nearly fallen asleep.

"We're here." I looked up and was in awe at the sight before me. We were parked ontop of a cliff that overlooked the city. All the twinkling lights and buildings together just looked simply beautiful.

"Wow Ray this is amazing how did you find it?" I asked.

"Well, you find things when you just drive around to clear your head." I smiled getting myself out of the car. Ray got out as well. We both leaned up against the car looking out at the town.

"So when are you going to be going on tour again?" I asked.

"Not for a couple months." He answered. I would have to spend as much time with him as I could before then.

"Then we'll have to savor all the time we got together." I said looking up into the diamond filled sky.

"Yep." He whispered.

The way she looked under the light of the moon was simply beautiful. There was so much I wanted to tell her. So many wonderful things when I saw her smile.

"Over these past few weeks Nadia you've really showed me what it means to really enjoy things." I said. I was really hoping and praying she would take it the way I wanted her to.

"You've really showed me too Ray." I smiled. She looked right into my eyes and I looked straight into hers. Both of us were saying the same thing just without words.

I tucked a stray hair behind her ear when she took my hand in hers leaning in, kissing me. With my other hand I slipped it behind her head deepening this perfect moment. Damn, did her lips taste so good. We parted from each other. I pressed my forehead to hers with a smile on my face.

"I'm glad you took me out here." Nadia whispered giving me that smile which I loved so much.

"I am too." I replied before kissing her again.

The two of us fell asleep on the hood of the car wrapped up in eachother's arms. Just as the sun was about to rise the two of us woke up.

"Morning beautiful." Ray whispered kissing my forehead.

"Morning." I yawned stretching up my arms. It must have been six in the morning or something. Usually by choice I would never get up at this hour but if it means waking up to my favorite person I don't mind a bit. Ray pulled me back into his embrace not really in the mood to get out of bed.

"You still tired?" I asked giggling a little. Ray smiled tiredly laying his head down.

"It's five in the morning." He whined burying his face in the crook of my neck. I rolled my eyes with a smile. You win, for now.

Grabbing the box of pancake mix I immediately had someone attach themselves to my neck.

"I'm trying to make pancakes Frank!" I exclaimed trying to sound annoyed. He laughed tightening his wrap around my stomach.

"Well then too bad." He whispered. Turning around in his embrace I attacked his lips feircly. Both of my legs went like jello feeling that guy's lips against mine. Haley walked into the kitchen with a serious case of bed head in the middle of our little make out. We kind of just ignored and continued on with our business. She was so tired she was at first not noticing.

"Sarah when are you gonna make those damn pancakes." She grumbled looking through squinted eyes into the fridge since she didn't have her glasses on. Frank moved from my lips to my neck trailing soft kisses in just the right places.

"I will later." I breathed trying as hard as I could to suppress a moan. I could feel him smirk against my skin.

"Fine." She treaded out of the kitchen with a glass of OJ in her hand. Frank removed himself from my neck laughing quietly along with me.

"I can't believe she didn't even notice us."

"I know." I agreed. I jumped when I felt something furry rub up against my leg. Looking down I saw...a dog!? When did we get a dog?

"What are you doing here little fella?" I asked kneeling down infront of him as if he could really answer me. Nadia then walked in with Ray right behind her, their fingers lovingly laced together.

"I see you have now met Sammy."

"Sammy?" I looked up at Nadia who merely smiled.

"He's gonna be our new dog." She announced. Sammy looked up at me with the eyes that were easily breaking me down. I had always wanted a dog... oh what the hell!

Well then I guess things are just slowly changing but for the better.
