A very original idea that I hope to see continuedAuthor's response
I'm glad you liked it, but I'm sorry to disappoint you here: I actually have no intention of continuing this particular story.
The entire point of this was to take a peek at what Dudley's life might have been like, post-DH, if he really did manage to get his act together and become a better person. I think I've said all there is to say about it for the moment... I mean, we know he turned out basically all right and didn't so much mind magic anymore, what else is there to say?
The only thing I could have thought of was to continue the story of Olivia Dursley and what happened to her at Hogwarts. But I think Olivia has served her purpose well enough here, which was more to highlight how much Dudley had changed than anything else -- I don't think she would make for a good "focus" character.
I'm going to write more HP stories, though, even if they won't be continuing this one... Hopefully I'll manage okay with those as well.Must Have Changed A Lot

very well done... i had kinda hoped to see more. especially how the families get along... i'm not askign for a full story about olivia, just more of that dinner that the Dursley and Potters are goin to have...
anyway, congrats and hope to see more stuff from you soon.Author's response
Hmmm... Well, now that you mention it, it could have been interesting to see how the dinner went on. But I don't really think I have any ideas for it, beyond having Harry tell the story of the HP books and the Dursleys going "ooooh" or something like that...
Tell you what, though. If I ever do get any ideas for the dinner that I find worthy of pursuit, I'll withdraw my decicion to not write any follow-ups.
In the meantime, I guess I'll be looking at all those other fanfics I'm planning. ^_^Must Have Changed A Lot

I like this. Very thought-provoking and a lovely little 'what-if'.Author's response
Thank you! I always thought Dudley had the potential to be more than just the "stupid fat bully" he's presented as in the books... and his short scene in "Deathly Hallows" certainly seemed to support this theory.
It probably wouldn't be easy for him, but I do think that Dudley could, over time and if given the proper chance, grow up to be a decent person... and this is one suggestion of how this might have happened.Must Have Changed A Lot

That was interesting and different. I like the way you proved Dumbledore's Guiding Premise - that ANYone can learn and grow, if they are willing to try.Must Have Changed A Lot

Very nice. And while I was sorry to see the story end, I understand how when you come to the end of a story you stop writing. :-)
Good job. I did see at least one other good!Dudley fic that had Harry threatening him if he ever mistreated his baby witch. So this was quite different.
Good job. Well done.
