Shaking her head as if to clear it Pepper went to go get the pizza's. Meanwhile back at the table Ryan spoke up.
"I love how you have the ability to flirt in any circumstance, Bren."
"Thank you Ryan. One of my many talents. No, she's cute and seems down to earth,"Brendon replied as
he picked up the pitcher of Pepsi still on the table and refilled his glass.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As Pepper walked into the kitchen she found Cath staring at her.
"What in the world are you doing out there, girl?"
"I just spilled a coke all over Brendon Urie and he's flirting with me. That's what," Pepper replied
as she picked up a pizza and the order of breadsticks, "Hey you think that you could bring this
other pizza out then you can leave?"
"Sure," Cath replied.
Pepper took a deep breath and walked out of the kitchen with Cath behind her. As she approached the
table Pepper noticed that someone had pulled a chair up to the booth.
Setting down their pizza's
Pepper bade goodnight to her friend and looked at the chair again.
"Thit," Spencer said with a mouth full of pizza and motioned at the chair.
"Nice, Spence. Classy,"Jon said to his friend with a hint of amusement in his voice.
Turning back to Pepper he smiled, "In case your wondering just to clear it up, Spencer asked you to sit."
Giggling, Pepper did so.
"I am so sorry. About a few minutes ago. I'm not usually that spastic. It's been a really long day
and both of my best friends are sick, one being my room-mate. They are the other two servers for my
shift and it seems everyone and their brother has been in here today."
Ryan laughed.
"It's ok. I can only imagine how you feel--"
'Is it still me that makes you sweat. Am I who you think about in bed...'
He was instantly cut off by Pepper's cell phone.
"Oh one minute," Pepper said getting up to answer her phone.
Walking behind the counter she picked
up the broom and dustpan and began to sweep.
"Hello?"
"Pep?"
"Hey Iz. You feelin' better?"
"Slightly. Is Mason there?"
"No, Mason's sick with the flu also. He told me to tell you he loves you and that you get better."
"Oh, that's sweet. Well I just called to see how you were--"
This caused Pepper to laugh.
"You called to see how I was? Dude, Iz, I should be the one calling you. Well now that I know your feeling a little better that makes me feel better. I'll let you go so you can get some more rest.
I'll be home shortly. Bye."
During the conversation Pepper had swept the restraurant floor, so she put up the broom and pan and
went to go sit back with our guys.
"Hey I"m sorry. That was my roomie, Izzy. "
Brendon's lip quirked.
"It's all good. From the sound of your ringtone, I take it your a Panic! fan. So how come you
weren't at the concert tonight?"
"I was going to but the ticket's cost is exactly how much my ahlf of the rent cost. So if Izzy and I
had went we wouldn't have had our rent for this month,"Pepper told him as she looked him in the eye.
Brendon's smile fell off his face.
"Oh. Well then..."
"How long are you guys back in Sin City for?,"Pepper asked changing the topic.
"Till after Christmas," Spencer said as he took a napkin and wiped his face and hands.
"Oh so this was your last show. That's cool. I heard a lot of people talk about it over dinner. Wow,
Izzy and Mason aren't going to believe that I met you guys. Izzy's going to be furious that she was
sick when you guy's came," Pepper laughed.
Brendon started to laugh too.
"Are you making fun of my laugh," Pepper asked playfully as she picked up the guy's plates to take
them into the kitchen.
"No, it's just an infectious one," Brendon replied.
Secretly Brendon was pratically mesmorized by
her laugh. He'd just met Pepper, but he liked the way her eyes lit up when she'd giggle.
Pepper came back into the dining room.
"That's what alot of people tell me. Speaking of people I need to thank my coworkers for cleaning up
everything so now I just have to enter your bill into the cash register and close up. This might be
a record first, me getting home before three in the morning. My body won't know what to do with out
and extra Vault," Pepper said putting her chair back at it's table.
"You drink energy drinks also," Brendon inquired?
"Don't tell me you drink Red Bull too,"Ryan asked pleadingly?
"Haha no I can't stand the taste of Red Bull. I used to drink Cocaine but they discontinued it so
now I drink Vault and certain Monster's," Pepper explained.
"You hate Red Bull? Dude she's speaking blasphemy over here," Brendon said to Spencer who just shook his head.
"Yeah I know. I think we're done here. We need to leave, Pepper looks like she's about to fall over
dead. The bill is how much," asked Spencer?
"$40.00,"Pepper replied as the guys handed over the money.
"Thank you," she said as she made her way over to the cash register.
Placing the money inside she locked it. All the guys walked outside waiting for her as she locked up.
"I left a note for 1st shift that I was sorry I didn't do that last of the dishes. They'll understand," Pepper said.
Suddenly she looked distressed.
"Oh damn. How am I going to get home," Pepper said to herself out loud.
"You don't drive," Jon asked?
"Huh? No. I take the bus.Damn. This isn't good," Pepper said putting her head in her hands.
Brendon spoke up.
"I'll take you. I have my car right here. Just tell me where to go and I'll take you."
Pepper looked up.
"I can't ask you to do that," she said.
"Your not asking me anything I"m offering. Unless you want to walk home in the feezing cold," he
said with a smirk.
"Ugh, ok. You got me there,"Pepper said following Brendon.
Unfortunelty she didn't see the wink Ryan gave his best friend.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Um turn left here. Yeah now keep going. Nope a little further. Keep going. Yeah ok turn right. Yup
we're here," Pepper instructed.
Brendon pulled into the apartment complex's parking lot and parked the car. Once done he started
unbuckling.
"What are you doing," Pepper asked?
"I'm walking you to your door,"Brendon replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"Um ok," Pepper said as she met him at the back of the car.
Brendon looked at Pepper a minute before grabbing her hand.
"Lead me," he said.
Rolling her eyes Pepper obliged. Several minutes later they were standing in front of her apartment.
"Here we are. Thank you for driving me," Pepper said giving Brendon a smile.
"Your welcome. Oh here before I forget, here's your tip," Brendon pulled out two fifty dollar bills
and a scrap of paper and handed it to Pepper.
He watched Pepper's reaction as she opened the paper.
"It has your number on it. Why," Pepper asked?
"You owe me,"Brendon said simply.
"I oew you?"
"Yeah, your the one who spilled pepsi all over me," he said laughing.
"Oh."
"Yes and now I need your number."
She gave it to him before turning to unlock the door. Before she stepped inside Brendon grabbed her hand.
"I'll call you. Do you work tomorrow?"
"No," Pepper replied.
"Good," Brendon said and before walking away he raised her hand and kissed the back of it.
Smiling at her one last time he walked off leaving a very stunned Pepper with one foot in the door
and the other out.
"I love how you have the ability to flirt in any circumstance, Bren."
