The Bulldog and the Archer

Marvellously done!!!!!! I liked seeing the beginnings of Charlie and May's relationship! It also looks as though May's father will approve of his future son-in-law. I look forward to the next part of the story, and enjoyed seeing the attraction the two had for each other. I think that they will be friends, lovers, and beloved in time.......smiles. Thanks for the chapters!Author's response
Thanks Teresa! I have four more chapters to expand upon and upload, then there will be at least two more that I am still writing. This story was a lot of fun to create. The Dragon Preserve is a wonderful playground for a writer.

You gave just the right amount of details about the avalanche team and their job. I know of a few writers who would have overdone it, drowning their readers in a sea of details (or should I have said "burying them under tons of snow"?), most of them irrelevant to the story. Good job!
It was nice to see Charlie doing his job. It was obvious something was going to happen, but when it finally did happen, it still came unexpectedly. And Charlie was great!
Ooooh, it seems May is attracted to Charlie too. I liked the scene with her father. I could empathize with her, lol. But I guess it was a good thing her father gave Charlie a nickname? Japanese witches and wizards, a whole set of magical traditions, and another dragon enclave... there is so much potential there.
Dragons are fascinating but dangerous creatures, and you reminded your readers of that in this chapter. But on the other hand, those dragonriders... ah, flying on a dragon... :sighs:
Very nicely done, Jim!

I'm glad the descriptive text for the Avalanche team was not too over the top. As ex-military, I have a certain fondness for military technology. I'm glad it did not bore you.
I try to find non-lethal ways to deal with animals and giants (wink). Finding new ways to make HP spells work for the storyline is a fun challenge.
Oh yes, they are certainly attracted to each other!
Always a pleasure to read your opinions, Anne!
