Dumbles don't learn, do he? Well, no one excpet a Pureblood would claim most of the characters in the Potterverse have a lot of common sense.

Chuckle....so Harry owns Teen Witch Weekly. Looks like Neville will be on that list for a long time! McGonagall and the twins are definately going for the throat Weasley wise and wating patiently is the Lady Black. On the whole the potion trio would be better off not giving Daphne a chance to get at them. Ron is totally stupid, he saw Hermione smack Malfoy upside the head for having a smart mouth and he thought he could lay his hands on her? He's lucky that she didn't castrate him then and there! Then again her sister-wife and husband would want to see that and dish out their fair portion of the pain. I bet the Weasley pair will have a fit when McGonagall's prediction becomes fact since they love quidditch. Ron'll be as upset by losing that as he is Hermione. By the by, did anyone hear what he said about McGonagall? Dissing one's head of house can be bad for one's health. I'm glad that Remus is rethinking his position, he's one of my fav chacters and I'd like seeing him bond with Harry and his wives. As for Dumbles, he's about to get stomped on again via Neville and his grandmother. Unlike Harry and Hermione they know the ins and outs of pure blood social behavior, and he could find himself marginalized socially with a few well chosen words. It looks like Tonks will really live to regret getting involved in this mess, her mother respects Harry both as a person and as the head of the family and such behavior from her own child has got to hurt. So Dumbles tried to murder Hermione using that basilisk eh? He'd better hope that Harry never finds that out or he'll be coldcuts. So Voldy intends to attack Dumbles in hopes that Harry will be throw off balance. That's unlikely given Harry's current attitude, he's lumped them together as bad news and wants to take both of them out. And if he thinks that Harry would trust Malfoy Sn even in a family meeting he's really grasping at straws. Is Fawkes going to dump Dumbles soon, or did Dumbles do something to him as well? Anyway, thanks for the chapter, and as always it was enjoyable!Author's response
The least he could do and all that.
A smart guy would listen to Minnie, no one ever accused Ron of being smart.
Actually Ron didn't see Harry do Malfoy and Snape... Though he certainly heard about it.
Hermione would never do real damage to Ron, she basically thinks of him as her old friend who has somehow gone wrong. Harry would feel the same. Daphne on the other hand...
Only Hermione heard him, she's not likely to turn him in.
I'm trying to write Remus, but i've never had much success doing so intelligently.
The House of Longbottom is likely to be slightly miffed.
The punishment I have in mind for Miss Tonks is inhumanly cruel... And funny.
He needed to remove her from the equation...
Harry won't trust Lucius, but cannot refuse...
Fawkes will be leaving... unless he doesn't.
Thanks for the review. The Acts Of Betrayal

Somebody does not like Dumbledore or some of the Weasleys. HMMM. I enjoy the Dumblebash and the Ron bash. But given that Harry saved Ginny's life it would seem that, that debt would keep Ginny from being party to to such a fraud. If love potions are so easy than either people would by default be checking for them all the time as standard procedure. Ow that you bring up the black family and tonks I would have thought that the activity itself would have caused a judgement already on tonks.Author's response
Actually I don't care for the female Weasleys, but like the males. The only reason for the Ron thing is to give Hermione something to escape from...
The life debt would keep Ginny from hurting Harry, as long as she can convince herself that he needs to be with her, she's ok.
Potions, easy to use, hard to make like the luck potion whose name escapes me.
The family judgements aren't automatic, they have to be decreed by the head of house. The Acts Of Betrayal

Pretty good update. I'm a bit weirded out by Dumbledore's immediate jump to Neville. I get that he's desperate, but recreating the prophecy's circumstances for him won't be easy.
Looking forward to more.Author's response
It's just your standard case of old men sending young men off to war for the Greater Good...The Acts Of Betrayal

-Chuckle- My, Dumbles definitely fits the definition of insanity, he failed with Tom and Harry and now he wants to try it again with Neville? Given what Neville's learned from Harry, I daresay that's going to prove to be a very, very bad move. I reckon Hannah may not like Dumbles' opening moves but I'd hazard a guess that Neville will deal with that and, then, Dumbles will have both an angry Harry & family and an angry Neville & close associates after him and the two groups likely closely allied.
Meanwhile, it seems that Ron is being especially stupid. He's been told to stay away and he's still tried to make a move after his Head of House specifically told him not to. Methinks his days at Hogwarts are rather numbered and I doubt Ginny is going to be there much longer than he will be. Molly doesn't realize, yet, just how much "judgement" is going to be visited on her. We know the twins are very ticked-off (to put it politely) and I rather imagine that Arthur is going to be horrified. Not to mention what's going to happen to her should she confront Harry/Hermione/Daphne. If -only- the trio hurt her, she'll be lucky. I'd guess that her marriage is going to be very much in the balance as Arthur may have his excentricities, but he's an upright and honorable wizard and he's going to be quite upset at the slur his wife and two youngest have cast on the family name.
I think it's just, -finally-, coming home to Tonks just how badly she's stepped in it. Not only has she lost her job but she's essentially committed treason against her Head of Family. If her mother doesn't manage to work a deal, she's in a very deep mess. I rather suspect that Harry & co. and Andromeda can work something out, but I daresay it's not going to be pleaseant for Tonks.
Tom continues in his underestimating of Harry. I still say that just because Harry doesn't wantonly kill doesn't mean that he won't when he needs to, especially since he now has two very special witches to care for an protect - though I daresay that they'll -firmly- reject any protection that doesn't let them fight alongside him; he'll firmly lose that battle if he tries it.Author's response
Neville is going to be a most angry young man... His Gran even more so, only without the young man part.
Ron has just made the second largest mistake of his life. The largest (and possibly last) comes next chapter.
For Arthur's reaction to Molly's involvement, check out the next chapter.
Tonks is going to be thankful and horrified by her punishment...
I'm not sure, but I believe I have the single most original fix for the Tom Riddle situation ever put in a fic... Wait, no I don't. The most original was a fic who's name I can't recall that had Harry and company holding a Triwizard Tournament on the QT and enrolling Tom without bothering to tell him about it, and he lost his magic when he didn't compete. Ok, so mine is the second most original ending...The Acts Of Betrayal

looking forward to some serious Dumbledore pain! I've got a couple of ideas for Tonk's punishment, but they are far too perverted for the story you seem to be telling GRIN
Looking forward to more

"Ron has just made the second largest mistake of his life. The largest (and possibly last) comes next chapter."
Oh, brother!! I have a deep suspicion that, if he survives, Ron is going to be a severely chastised, and, likely, painfully much wiser, individual after that one.
I can't blame Neville and his Gran for being angry and, somehow, I don't think Hannah is going to be much behind them. I daresay that her family will support her and, by extension, Neville. By further extension, this will support Harry. I don't think Dumbles is thinking far enough ahead to realize quite the coaltion he's building. I can just see Susan telling her aunt what's going on and the DMLE becoming a bit less charitably inclined toward Dumbles than she undoubtedly already is.
Heh, I do wonder what Harry's owning of Teen Witch Weekly is going to do for the public opinion battle. I can see that, esp. if Luna and the Quibbler continue their excellent working relationship, causing a number of problems for those who deserve them.
I'll admit to looking forward to seeing your solution for Tom. I'm always open for creaitve approaches.Author's response
Lets just say that after much reflection and worry about upsetting readers, Ron is going to deserve everything he gets.
My basic point in this story is that Dumbles ISN'T thinking anymore, just reacting. Amelia is paying attention to the running of the school, count on it.
Considering the readership of TWW, not much. Though he is considering changing the title to Dragon Beat...
I hope my solution works out as well on screen as it does in my head.
