- oh, my! Lots of fun bits here, despite the pain. I daresay Tom is going to be even more non-plussed as things develop. That meeting should be even more interesting than the Prince expects when Frank finds Fleur alive and free. I rather suspect that when she tells her story, there's going to be a few changes in plans. What could be really interesting is if the Reaper took that weapon to Tom personally and used both their powers to trigger it. I can see him wanting to live but willing to settle for a mutual take-out if it would free the world.
Author's responseFrank is a dutchman, Andre Delacour is Fleur's uncle, but yeah.
You are very close to the ending...
(#) whatareyouevensaying 2007-11-26There's no question that Harry would willingly sacrifice himself to save the world, but he wouldn't sacrifice Susan and their unborn child, so using the weapon won't be an option. I'm looking forward to the meeting in the next chapter. Fleur's presence will be vital.
Author's responseHarry would never sacrifice Susan or their baby. Don't worry, that won't happen.
- Excellent story, it seems that previous reviewers touched on those subjects that I wanted to comment on. Except for one.
I believe that it goes "The needs of the many out WEIGH the needs of the few." normally I believe such a mistake could be done in character since fictional characters should make mistakes with sayings about as often as the authors. And it doesn't bother me unless it comes from characters who are considered above average in intelligence(such as canon Hermione, your Hermione while smart would consider such things trivial)
Author's responseYeah, well see, William was quoting a movie he'd never seen from memory, and used the homonym. Yeah, that's it. It had nothing to do with my fat fingers and not proof reading properly...
(#) tmctflyboy 2007-11-27look forward to reading the next chapter. dont think harry will go with the idea since it could hurt susan. but it would be interesting to see what would happen since his magic is reversed from everyone elses. glad that fleur is going to be there, love her character.
Author's responsehard choices are coming up...
- Great Story. Well written, good characterization and I love how well you've set things up so that everyone is changed in believable ways from the divergance point. Though I do have to ask are Remus and Sirius around anywhere? I doubt it but I am curious. So next chapter will anyone come up with the bright idea of sticking the antimagic bomb on Voldemort? I mean sticking it on Harry might be a bad idea considering the fact that he has an opposite polarity magic. Well I look forward to seeing what comes next. Thank you very much for the good read.
Author's responseThank you.
Sirius died attempting to avenge James, Lilly, and Harry back in 81.
Remus dies when caught up in the Werewolf purges following Tom's rise to power. Not only has the SOB wiped out a majority of the worlds population he's also eliminated all magical sentients other than Wizardfolk and House Elves (because castles don't clean themselves.)
Yeah, next chapter is planing for deploying the weapon, but its not a bomb.
The only person who knows about Harry's polarity is Poppy, and she doesn't know what it means.
(#) FenrisWolf 2007-12-26I stumbled across your work as the result of a recommendation, and have been enjoying it so far. One quibble, though; on this story the intro says 'Fleur, Harry, Hermione' with no mention of Susan. If this is going to be a Harry/Susan fic you need to put that in the intro; some of us nutcases only read ship-specific stories, no matter how well written they are.....
Author's responseUnfortunately, Susan isn't a viable choice in the ship character selection table.
