Brendon stood still in shock. He didn't, couldn't believe that Pete would take advantage of Jamie. Jamie and Pete certainly appeared close, but Brendon assumed it was a borther-sister type relationship. Perhaps, he hoped, that was why she was inside his room. He bucked up his courage and knocked on the door. He heard quiet noises, then nothing. He waited a few more moments, then knocked again. He had to see if Jamie was there.

Pete sighed as whoever it was knocked again. Carefully, he slid off the bed, through on a pair of ruffled pajama pants, and shuffled to the door. He creaked it open to see the person he wanted to see least at this time. He gulped.

"What's up, Brendon?" He asked as non-chalantly as possible. Brendon looked a mess. He sighed, his lips forming a thin line.

"It's Jamie. We...we fought last night and she stormed out. I havent heard from her yet this morning, and I'm worried." He said. "I was wondering if maybe she came here?"

"Why would you wonder that?" Pete asked nervously. He hoped that Jamie hadn't possibly let something slip before she left. Brendon shuffled his feet.

"Well, I know she trusted you. And it seemed that the two of you were pretty close, so..." Brendon shrugged. "I dunno." Closer then you'll EVER know, Pete thought. Quickly, he formed a plan in his head.

"Yeah, she did come here. She's still pretty upset though, I doubt she'll want to see you right now." Pete said, changing his demeanor to make it seem as if he was concerened about the state of Jamie and Brendon's relationship. "I think it'd be best if you steered clear of her for a little while."

"Well, can you at least tell her I'm sorry?" Brendon pleaded. Pete smiled, more out of relief then kindness.

"Sure thing buddy." He patted Brendon on the shoulder, then quietly shut the door. With one crisis avoided, he had to deal with another. He grabbed his phone and walked quietly into the bathoom. Shutting the door, he dialed the number he had gained the previous day.

"Hello?"

"Riley?"

"Hey Peter!"

"Hey baby. Listen, I can't make breakfeast. But, we have to play another show here in NYC. Same venue and everything. I expect to see you there, got it sugar?"

"Of course, I'll be there for sure! I can't wait to see you again."

"The feeling's mutual, sweetie. I'll meet you at the backstage door to let you in afterthe show, alright?"

"More then alright."

"I'll see you tomorrow night then?"

"Count on it."

"Great. Bye."

"Bye!"

Pete clicked his phone off and smiled to himself. Now that he had Jamie once, he could get her again. He was sure of it. He didn't really need Riley. But she was so wild, so willing. And he didn't love her. He didn't feel the need to be gentle with her feelings or her body. He could let the caveman take over, and save the sweet, caring side of him for Jamie. It was perfect. He'd have his fun with Riley, then simply tell her she was just a fling while he was in New York. Then he'd continue with Jamie, and Riley would be quickly forgotten. He smiled to himself as he slid back into bed with Jamie. Life was good.

But as he would soon learn, the tables could turn. Very, very fast.
