He managed a raspy gasp, vainly attempting to cover the bullet wound with his large hand, brown eyes focusing on the twilight sky as it was stained with a gruesome red to reflect his looming death. Before Ray could attempt another breath, his hand slipped from his chest, heart beat falling silent.
