I like your more observant and aware Harry. He seems to have a stronger appreciation for learning than he did in canon, along with a much stronger drive to excel in school (I suspect Vernon will never realize just how big a favor putting Dudley in a different class really was - he'd likely fill his underwear if he knew).Author's response
I am glad that you like it. This Harry is more interested in learning because, while in canon he has chores and such to do, I'm going toward the Dursley's being more out of sight out of mind and they banish him from the house during the day time. So he spends all that time in the library to avoid Dudley.Elementary Calculations

Love what you've done with the decidedly smarter Harry.
Slight nitpick is that I'm not sure whether or not the internet was that widespread during Harry's youth.
Or Public-access Computers, anyway.
But hey, its just an idle musing of mine. Doesn't hinder the story at all.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, HP's timeline isn't something I'm exactly sure of, myself.
BTW, rooting for Dudley being the unwitting test subject for some of Harry's... more amusing experiments.
Question: This story won't necessarily become Dark!Harry, right?
Can't wait to see just how far Harry can go with his calculations before he goes to Hogwarts, hehe...
Author's response
I pushed the timeline forward ten years to account for the internet access and yes, Dudley shall be a guinea pig for some of Harry's experiments. I am leaning more toward a gray!Harry than an outright dark.Elementary Calculations

Other than the whole internet access in 1989 things look pretty good. You could solve it instead by having him simply reading a "new age" book in the public library.
Interesting and worth following.Author's response
I'm glad you think it is worth following. You should read the first chapter right after the disclaimer, it won't be affecting the wizarding world but it will allow for some perks on the muggle front.Elementary Calculations

glad to see an intelligent harry, instead of the usual reckless "hero" that survives due to luck alone. will this harry be dark or just clever and sly? either works for me! read ya later!Elementary Calculations

I like it! Harry adding the oddities in his life together into a seemingly logical answer is a great twist. Magic still hasn't occurred to him, as most people see magic as stage tricks and, according to the authority figures in his life, 'real' magic does not, and cannot exist. On the other hand, there has been sufficient discussion on para-normal phenomena even then that might lead him to think he possessd some of those paranormal abilities, and more, can harness those abilities.
I have added this to my alerts list and hope to read more at your convenience. Alorkin
