Wonderful chapter!
I'm sure it would already be rated higher than +5 if that were allowed!
I especially liked Dan's reveiws of the situation!

Thank you very much!
Dan's views are interesting to write, ayup. I wasn't expecting him to be quite as almost-paranoid as he is, but when I think about it, it makes sense. I'm amazed that Hermione's parents were so calm about everything in canon, really. ;-)Harry's New Pets

Well, this coming conversation between Gerard and the Grangers promises to be... interesting , especially given Dan's loud and somewhat paranoid suspicions of the Wizarding World. If M. Delacour is smart (and I'll bet that he is) he will descrbe Hermione as being unharmed and wanting to spend the rest of her summer with her newfound friends. The Floo will also allow her to personally reassure her parents that she is not under any duress.
As for the rest? Well, I am interested as to how you plan to progress this story. There is definately some manner of bond forming between the quartet and I doubt that it would be wise to seperate them for any length of time. On the other hand, I cannot imagine Dumbledore permitting his precious weapon to go to Beaubuxtons (and thus out of his control). One possible compromise would be for Harry to attend Hogwarts as a day student and commute to and from Beaubuxtons by Floo every day.
Overall, I like how you have written this story. All the characters are written as they were at the very beginning of PS (or at least, in Fleur and Luna's case, how I imagine they would be). You have managed to avoid a lot of the traps of the common Fanon view of Luna and made her behaviour not too excessively wacky, even if she is shown as eccentric and highly precocious.
I'll be looking forward to seeing more of this story.

It occurs to me that they should tell that scum sucking slaver about his victims families. Hermione's parents are dentists, and Fleur's father was in covert ops. He could find himself in a world of pain .....and it sounds good to me! Here's hoping that the toad gets stomped on as well! Thanks for the story!Harry's New Pets

This is just brilliant, and i would like to know just what this bonding's all about. There was one really bad thing about this chapter though.
It had an end.
Thanks.

Thank you very much!
I'm still feeling my way through this--I hope the bonding doesn't disappoint once it's more fully explained.
I'm hoping to have another chapter up in not too long. It's been a busy weekend, and I've not had much time to write. We'll see.Harry's New Pets

I am really enjoying this story, the whole pet concept wasn't completely new but the way you got harry his "pets" was original to me. It had many great scenes and just enough humour for the story not to go into a total tailspin of a story where humour is forced just to be outrageous. Keep up the good work and hope to read alot(and i mean alot) more.Harry's New Pets

This was an excellent, fun read. I really appreciate the way you are developing the characters and story. I look forward to seeing how Gerard and Dan reach some sort of understanding. Dan's mistrust of wizarding society is very different than what I have generally seen in fanon, but certainly reflects the way many would see an underground society.
The one thing I would say seems missing is that Hermione doesn't seem to have the natural level of curiosity I would have expected. While she did ask some questions, I would have expected her to ask about how he Gerard found them, and how the monocle worked and what did it show and other questions along those lines.
Aside from Hermione's natural curiosity being a little less pronounced than I would expect I think you have painted a fairly nice picture of what they would be like at this age and given the situation.
Also it seems you borrowed a little bit of Gerard Delacour's background/character from another one of Ror's odd ideas, "The French Connections." I think it works well in this situation and certainly helps explain how he tracked them down so easily.Author's response
Thank you very much!
I suppose I just started thinking about how a father would react to Hermione's situation, and it seemed to make sense. In a way, I'm surprised that the canon!Grangers were so calm--were they not told about things like the petrification Second Year?
Hermione's curiosity is a good point. I might should've let her have a few more questions. She may've been worried about keeping Fleur, or being kept, as the case may be.
I hadn't thought about "The French Connections," but there is a bit of influence from that, to be sure. M. Delacour as a fighter or intelligence agent has I think popped up in a number of places in fandom--at least one of Jeconais' Harry/Gabrielle fics included a bit about Harry and M. Delacour having worked together in the fight against Voldemort.
Thanks again!Harry's New Pets

Simply excellent update. This story exudes an innocent sort of comforting feeling, one that's hard to duplicate.
Looking forward to more.Author's response
Thank you very much!
I'm glad to hear you say that--one of the things I'm trying for, here, is to write a harem-as-it-were story where the sexuality takes a back seat to the romance and friendship between the characters.
