well there found, now then are the grangers gonna throw a fit!?!Author's response
We'll see about the Grangers. Dan's probably going to throw a bit of a fit, but Emma seems more understanding, so she'll probably stop things getting too unpleasant.
Thank you very much!Harry's New Pets

I'm loving this story more and more, and the characterizations are spot on, but i thought that the title is a bit stand offish in that it tells those who have not read it a stereotype o sex and underage immorality.
While the actual story is touching and lovely.
maybe a change of title like To harry with love or something like that might be better.

Thank you very much!
That's an interesting suggestion about the title. I hadn't thought of it that way, but it mightn't be a bad idea. I'm pants at coming up with titles, but I'll put some thought into it.
Glad you like the story, and especially that you thought the characterisations were on--that's one of the things I've been a bit worried about.
Thanks again!Harry's New Pets

I can't wait until The four meet the Grangers... Brilliant!Author's response
Thank you very much!
We'll see what happens when they meet. I'm hoping that the worst of Dan's explosion will be over with before the foursome arrive.Harry's New Pets

Hmm, I do like the way Harry's comported himself with honor, this will quite definitely work in his favor with the Grangers as well as with Gerard Delacour. Meanwhile, they do clearly have some matters to work out between the four of them. I rather expect the Grangers to be a bit taken aback but to ultimately do what's best for their daughter, esp. now that Magic has bound her to the other three.
Haman Harkness may wish for his namesake's gallows rather than what the various parents are able to deal pain to him while keeping him fully alive and aware. BTW, he's not an ancestor of David Weber's character Horace Harkness, is he? The later is a much, much better, albeit more dangerous, man.Author's response
Heavens, I'd not even thought about Horace Harkness. He's one of the last people in the universe I'd want to offend. ;-)
I don't reckon Haman's an ancestor of his, although I suppose anything's possible. I just needed a name that alliterated with Haman, and it seemed to fit. I'm just glad I wasn't thoughtless enough to call him "Haman Harrington." ;-)
Glad you liked Harry's behaviour. I think that's a lot of why Gerard likes him--in some ways he sees Harry as not dissimilar to a young version of himself.
The Grangers will take some explaining, but as you said I expect they'll see what's right, eventually. The foursome may spend a night or two sleeping in the Grangers' room, fully clothed (Luna won't be wild about that, but she'd do almost anything to keep her pet-sister) as part of the process of convincing them. We'll see.
I'm still not sure what's going to happen to Haman. A part of me really _wants_ them to torture him, but I have a feeling that Gerard knows it doesn't really make you feel better and that he'll hold back the Grangers cos he doesn't want them to have memories they'll regret later and to no useful purpose.
Thank you very much!!Harry's New Pets

This is a great story. The character composites are well done and the children actually think, act & talk their age. Look forward reading the rest of your story.Author's response
Thank you very much!
I'm glad you found the children age-appropriate; that's one of the things I've been worried about, as... well, let's say that kids born when I was Harry and Hermione's age can drink in the USA, and I've not been around preteenagers for any great length of time in years.Harry's New Pets

I'll admit, I was a little leary of reading this story at first, simply because I was turned off by the initial confrontation between Hermione and Harkness. I've just finished reading the rest of the story (so far), and, while I still don't like the initial conceit, I have to admit liking the story just fine.
As for where they should go; I would personally prefer that they do not go to Hogwarts, simply because I'm personally tired of Snape, Dumbles, Ron and Malfoy's nonsense.
RedAuthor's response
Thank you very much!
What exactly didn't you like about the initial Hermione-Harkness confrontation? I'm truly curious, cos... well, I'd not change what the moving finger has writ, as it were, but it's always good to know more about how folk react to the scenes I put together, for the future, like.
Glad you kept reading, and have liked the story since.
I'm not sure where they're going, yet--I'm a bit tired of Snape, Dumbles, Ron, and Malfoy also, but OTOH Hogwarts does give opportunities for changing things about in interesting ways. Putting them in Ravenclaw and having them actually become friends with Cho and/or Marietta, putting them in Hufflepuff and having them get to know Cedric and Susan Bones and Justin Finch-Fletchley... well, we'll see. Beauxbatons is practically a clean slate, and has plenty of space to fill in, which might also be fun.Harry's New Pets

i find this story to be quite delightful. It's much like the mating dance of the Blue-Bellied Humpdiggle (can you tell who my favorite character is).
