So, I guess the question is, will Rayne's letter keep Disashi and Travis safe?
2Ambiance
It was a couple days later when Salcido frowned as he slowly came to, the pain in his head not an easy thing to ignore, soon became a blip in the back of his mind as he opened his eyes and came eye-to-hole with the barrel of a hand gun. A quick sniff of the air informed him it was mercury, not something he could ignore either. He looked up, past the gun barrel that was staring him in the face, to see Adam Siska glaring down at him with black eyes.
“So, who are you working for?” Adam growled out, his eyes holding a dangerous look in them as he let his finger lightly tug at the trigger, almost pulling it too far. The only thing controlling him was the fact that they needed him to find out who was behind the attack on his master and his home; and if Pete’s makeshift family was in danger.
“Your only option is killing me,” Salcido said as he smiled. “I won’t tell you anything you need to know, only what I feel like telling you.”
“Humor me. What do you feel like telling us?” Deacon questioned, his eyes black as well since this danger was also on Joe’s head now.
Salcido turned his eyes on Deacon, a smirk replacing his smile. “I can’t wait to watch you suffer when they get a hold of you. I’ve heard the plans made for you and Pete, and believe me, I’m glad I get to watch.”
Pete growled at the vampire’s words, looking up when Gabe came into the room. He watched his friend turn a glare on Salcido before he punched him as hard as he could in the jaw.
Gabe smiled in sick satisfaction as the force of his blow dislodged the other vampire’s jaw and blood began to trail down the porcelain skin. He shook his slightly aching hand and grabbed hold of the other male’s hair, jerking his head so that they were staring each other down while Salcido worked on healing his jaw. “Tell me who your Master is, or you’re going to endure a very slow, very painful death,” he spoke slowly, his icy tone washing over everyone in the room.
Gabe and Salcido held their dual glares as everyone else in the room looked up when Samoyed and Cawthorne walked into the holding room, both looking oddly tense with each of them holding a weapon. Samoyed looked at Pete, his frown deepening. “Pete, you’re needed in the main room,” Samoyed said, his deep voice laced with his tension.
“Go on Pete, Sisky and I will be good with this little fucker,” Gabe said as he grabbed a fistful of Salcido’s hair, making the other vampire growl from his pain. “Won’t we Sisky babe?”
Adam’s mouth pulled into a strange smile as he stared at Salcido. “Yes, we will.”
Pete nodded and walked out of the room with Deacon and followed the big, well-muscled Cawthorne, and the more evenly distributed Samoyed down the hall to the main room, where four vampires stood. The shorter ones were obviously nervous by the way they kept shifting their eyes from armed guard to armed guard. The taller two stood still, watching Pete and Deacon with calm eyes, as the two moved towards the guarded group.
“Have we met before?” Pete questioned, his curiosity directed at Travis, who looked him over with an unreadable expression on his face.
“No,” Travis finally answered with a small shake of his head. “I don’t think we’ve actually met… Maybe we saw each other in passing, or during one of the fights that had multiple covens in them, but we ourselves haven’t spoke before.”
“Who are you?”
“My name is Travis McCoy, this,” he paused, motioning to the vampire at his right, “is Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo, and the other two are Matt McGinley and Eric Roberts.” At their names, he motioned to each of the other two, who gave a small, hesitant nod. “We’re here because we want to help you.”
Pete lifted a brow at Travis, while Deacon drew up straight beside him. “Help us, how?”
Disashi reached into his jacket, pausing when three of the seven weapons aimed at the group were suddenly aimed at him alone, and slowly pulled out the letter from Rayne. “It’s only a letter, friends, none of us mean you any type of harm. We are here to offer our help, just like Travis said.” He looked at Pete. “A mutual friend said we might need this to get you to hear us out.”
“Ashter, can you bring me that?” Pete questioned of the youngest of the guards, a small petite vampire with hazel eyes and brown hair.
The young male went over to Disashi and took the letter from the out-stretched hand, walking to Pete to hand it over to him before he aimed his weapon at the group once more and returned to his spot.
Pete’s eyes roamed over the envelope’s seal before he turned over the envelope and saw his name written in elegant cursive on the front. Flipping over the envelope once more, he broke the seal and took out the letter, frowning when he saw Rayne’s handwriting. Deciding it would be best to read her letter before jumping to conclusions, he read over the words on the paper.
Peter, get over the name.
Listen, Travis and Disashi are safe, as are anyone they bring with them. I told Disashi when he came to see me that it would be best for Travis to bring his closest allies from the house with him, to keep it fair since he would be around those you care for the most. Disashi just told me the news, of Gabe Saporta’s death, and when I told him how Gabe had been helping you and your family, he told me that he and Travis want to help you. They want to help to ensure that any work Gabe did for you wasn’t lost in his death.
In case you haven’t heard yet, William Beckett is alive and well, and he’s being kept safe with an old friend that he recently gained trust from. Travis will have to explain the story behind this, because I want to keep this letter as short as possible to make sure they have time to reach you and your family. Pete, he’s coming after you and your family, as revenge for what you did to him and his coven. The man standing before you are there to help you, and to get their own revenge, for Gabe.
Please call me if you think I’m being forced to write this. I’ll vouch for them, even over the phone, or in person. Whatever it takes to get you to believe they’re good.
If this reaches you in time, please stay safe and contact me as soon as things get sorted out. I need to know I haven’t lost everyone.
Your friend,
Rayne
“What does it say Pete?” Deacon questioned, waiting for Pete to tell him since he didn’t like to read over someone else’s shoulder. He frowned when Pete growled deep in his throat. “Pete, talk to me…”
“Samoyed, they’re good, lower your weapons,” Pete managed to get out as he tried to wrap his mind around the fact that William was somehow still alive. When the seven weapons were lowered, Matt and Eric visibly relaxed and Disashi let out a breath he hadn’t realized he had been holding in a slow exhale. He looked at Disashi. “When did you see her?”
“Just yesterday,” he answered. “Will you accept our help?”
“Where did you hear that Gabe Saporta was dead?” Pete questioned as Deacon continued to look confused about what was going on.
“I saw the burnt remains,” Matt spoke up, taking a step forward. “I was at the home I spy on when Tom, the master of the coven, who thinks he is my master also, told me all about the revenge he was helping William get for his coven.”
“William?” Deacon questioned, causing Matt to look at him.
“William Beckett.”
“How could he help William get revenge?” Deacon questioned, his body slowly feeling colder as the seconds ticked by. “William is dead. Pete ripped his throat out in front of us and then we burned down the whole mansion.”
“Before his death, Spencer went to Tom and asked for help, so Tom placed a spy in the house, only a few days before the attack. So when William was left to die, the spy, Salcido, brought William to his master’s home where Jon Walker, the home’s medic, saved his life. William Beckett is indeed alive.”
[Author's Note: So the guys, Pete and his gang now know that their enemy is alive, and they have an explanation about Gabe's home, but how will this news be handled? Okay, so as per request, the next chap is going to be a bit of history revealed on Rayne's part, because let's face it, this girl has become a normal character lol Still don't know how that one happened, but it did lol. So anywho, I hope you guys liked this chapter and don't forget, reviews are loved =) Lets me know I still have your attention!]
