YOU DON’T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU ASK FOR

Nice chapter. I liked Odin's Defense and I wonder how long it will be before Snape tries something? If not against Harry then against Hermione or Neville. Would they be protected from his mental attacts as Harry is since they are protected by him? Or will Harry/Shadow have to get involved directly?
You also, I noted, left McGonagall up in the air as to where she lays with Harry. Is she a full Dumbledore supporter or can she earn at least some of Harry's respect back? I gues her actions will be the deciding factor.
And only a one point deduction for using the P or the M word? Kinda lax in my view. And I found it amusing that Snape jumped to being offended by Puree while not caring you would be offended by Mudblood.

Dumbledore references the French Revolution, probably for its perceived bloodiness, as a warning. If Harry does intend to lead a revolution, he might do well to quote from the U.S. Declaration of Independence "when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government". That seems to be the case for the Half-bloods and the muggle-born in the wizarding world in England.YOU DON’T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU ASK FOR

One of the best 'running the numbers' I've yet seen; also the creation of the regional schools (who aren't allowed to offer NEWT classes) and the other schools mentioned nicely squares the circle She-Who-...oh, you know who I mean never quite got around to. I'm also liking your version of future Harry melded with present Harry better than another other I can remember reading--he's not all powerful/rich, but is getting the job done quite handily!

I find it hard to swallow Dumbledore knowing, let alone sharing all of this information so readily with others. I understand you needed to get the information out for the story's sake but in general it bogged things down a bit and felt a little to unrealistic. If Dumbles knew all of this already then he is a large part of the problem, if he has kept it to himself thus far I find it hard to believe he would so easily share it with the heads of house like this.
Then again Shadow might have scared some actual sense into him...
Generally I love your stories and I plan to continue reading this one, but I know many people who will not read past chapter 3 unfortunately. Please though, continue writing and I will continue reading. It was still enjoyable and an interesting look into Wizarding Britain.YOU DON’T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU ASK FOR

A bit violent and too bigot in the way of presenting things against bigots (I hope it is only to shock more than to be like them on the opposite side). The chapter end is a bit too much on the put the setting in and the political situation and could have been partially writteninto a note and just the main points in the dialog between the 3.

A rather interesting, unique fic. I like the idea of the two Harry's mixing, and look forward to reading more.
It'll be interesting to see how all the students react to the messages.YOU DON’T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU ASK FOR

About the numbers in Magical Britain, I always wondered why the movies show Hogwarts filled with students when the books show how small the classes are. If I remember right, Harry's year has about 40-50 students. Considering Hogwarts is supposed to pull from all of the UK (and JKR didn't mention the "Saint" schools) that is pathetic! I like how fics like this try to come up with a plausible reason for this. Plus it also backs up the books in that there seems to be buckets of empty classrooms in Hogwarts.YOU DON’T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU ASK FOR

"Dumbledork"?
Professor, I've been reading your work since 2003; while I am aware that your opinion of Dumbledore has changed over time to a decidedly negative one, I never expected to actually scan across the appelation "Dumbledork" in one of your tales.Author's response
True; the alt.universe Harry is pretty unforgiving and determined to change his new world; Dumbledore in this story is therefore somewhat mistreated and even abused (the degree depends on your opinion of the character)YOU DON’T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU ASK FOR

Rant warning... sorry while i am enjoying the story over all there was one cliche that irritated me a lot because i see it over and over as if it's the only way that certain descrepencys can be explained when no one seems takes into account one of the most basic factors that changes the equation majorly and that is MAGIC IS A GAME CHANGER in the HP magical world it's possible (not likely but possible) that a family could have 10 different generations alive at the same time in real life you at most have maybe a living great great grand parent and thats about the upper limit of what is possible but in the HP magical world you could have a living great great great great great great grand parent that means that student aged population makes up a much smaller portion of a stable population and nothing says that the population is even stable to start with i get similarly annoyed when people try to fit the magical economy into the same basic mold as the muggle or real life one but there is no reason for it to be any where near the same because MAGIC IS A GAME CHANGER how much do you actually need to buy in the magical world? especially if you're any good at transfiguration you don't need to buy furniture nearly as much EX
muggle: i'm throwing a party that has more guests than i ever had before i need to buy more chairs for them to sit in
Magical: i'll just conjure or transfigure some extra chairs or a longer bench and table for everyone
see how much different that makes the furniture industry EX2 also affecting the furniture industry
muggle: crap the table broke now i need to buy a new one
Magical: Repario there we go good as new
so what was a necessity now becomes a luxury and thats just two examples ....
when crunching the numbers a lot of people forget to take into account that wizzards live longer than muggles not just powerful wizzards like dumbledor but the same person who gave dumbles his owls gave harry his that means that aside from the statistical freak that is flamel dumbles is still not the oldest living wizzard by a fair amount assuming magicals have any sort of retirement someone who was old enough to be one of dumbles teachers is still working a job not retired so you don't need as many children to have a large population if some of them just live a long long long time and who says that quiditch players only play an average of 5 years it's possible with medical magic being what it is that pro Q. players could have careers possibly in the 50 or 60 year range which would allow for many more teams from the same limited number of potential new players each year
also who says that the magical population is at all stable it could be that magical briton is at the TAIL end of a baby boom (by tail end i mean the population surge that was once a high percentage of babies is now a high percentage of old geezers) so in that way there could be student numbers that don't support the rest of the population numbers because those population numbers are going to fall sharply in the near future because there arnt enough kids to replace the dying old people
so why does pretty much every fic writer who tries to fill in the blanks of the population to class size miss match always come up with the same basic filler hogworts is big enough that it could probably have 100 times as many students and might have had such in the past so does no one come up with the alternate filler that instead of being at the start of middle of a baby boom (like the USA i believe has just gotten past the mid point of a baby boon the large generation is getting ready to retire) that they could be at the tail end of it and most of the population is old people who have already retired

goku--sorry, but stand by my numbers. Despite some living well past 100, the average life seems under that. Even using your ideas, the numbers don't go past 10,000 if the vast majority of students attend Hogwarts in the numbers shown in the books, even accounting for the war depressed classes. Even with magicals not needing to buy as much as Muggles, the economy and government shown need higher numbers than that, and unless the average Quidditch player has a career of over 30 or 40 years, there wouldn't be enough Hogwarts players to fill the league.
