Hmmmmm.....Draco should start getting accustomed to such encounters; between Voldy and McGonagall his life will be very interesting! It could be titled " Close Encounters of the Deadly Kind"! While detentions with Mr. Filch aren't as painful as Voldy's crucios they last much longer! Add in Dobby's "attentions" and really Draco should consider becoming a hermit in Siberia, the Amazon, or maybe the Outback! Extreme weather, deadly animals, snakes and insects should be less of a problem then "She Whom You'd Better Obey" and "He Who Will Kill You No Matter Who Obeys"! Ah well, if Draco makes it to the final battle it will be one of two things; either a miracle or proof that God has a sense of humor. Or both! (snickers) By the way, I wanted to say that I thought that Harry's duels with Hermione and Neville were wonderful! I hope that the students realized that Neville had come into his own as well. Will Neville get the chance to deliver a little payback to Snape at some point? It's only fair! I also enjoyed seeing Dumbles tied up with a few compulsions; he deserves it in spades! Thanks again for the chapter! :)Author's response
Heya, Teresa!
He will. As much as we all wish he was a better person, Draco is a Death Eater. More to the point, he's also a moron...he doesn't learn. Fortunately he'll do something so offensively stupid in late April that Dumbledore can't cover it up. Voldy is going to be pleased he carried out his assignment but upset with how he did it. Of course, Drakey will try to play the martyr card...
Of course, he could always appeal to Voldy's sense of humour...or fair play...or something...
Australia and the Amazon sound good..for the same reasons, but I love the idea of a halfway house in Antarctica for reformed Death Eaters(or at least those who haven't been convicted).
I don't believe in miracles, and as a Buddhist, the phrase, 'Cause and Effect' comes to mind.
Harry's duels. Nevile has already begun to establish himself as driven, capable and someone to be respected. Both Ron and Seamus discovered that in person, and most likely shared the wealth.
As for Hermione: as sad to say as it is, since she's a female type person mark one, mod zero, replaceable sub-assembly, one each, it will always be assumed she's getting a break in exchange for sexual favors. It sucks, but there it is. I knew a 'Reen back in the dark ages, who could outshoot damn near anybody I knew, (besides myself, of course) but there were always some idjits who jarred on that she got the highest score because she was sleeping around. We put a few of those rumours to rest (and a few of those idjits in the hospital) but the rumours were always there.
Neville/Snape: Umm...no. I've already written that scene and am happy with it. Neville will be getting his fun during the battle between the Jedi and the Deez, when he deals with...
(I'm evil that way.)
As much as I agree with you that it's irony to the extreme, now I have to apologize to Dobby. Harry broke his promise to not use dark magicks, and a blood-based compulsion was definitely that. (Bangs head against wall)
Thanks for your great review.

I had to chuckle at the start, clearly Harry & Hermione let their situational awareness slip and they paid for it (fortunately, a bit of embarrassment is a far cheaper price than one could pay). I loved Hermione's response to Harry's being so accepting of her potentially being pregnant, though I doubt Tom did.
I'll be rather interested in seeing if Sybil is able to overcome whatever compulsions and such Dumbles has placed on her; methinks she might end up having to be tanked, anyway, simply because the compulsions would have physical effects and the only way to save her for later healing would be to tank her. Meanwhile, that convenient situation in Morocco should at least keep her in a safe condition for a while.
I admit, I loved Dobby's prank on Tom and I figure it's only fair to cause him as much heartburn as he causes others. I rather suspect this is not going to improve Severus' longevity as Tom becomes more easily irritated.
I admire Harry's being willing to do the "dirty work" himself and not order it out, as Albus does, though I rather thought that Dobby's little "addition" to Albus' wand was a thoughtful touch of interior decorating. 'Twill be interesting to see the results of those doctored lemon drops.
I loved that last bit and I'm looking forward to seeing Albus' reaction when he finds out that Neville's parents are unavailable to him. I rather imagine that, when asked, Augusta will simply reply that they were relocated to an experimental clinic with some innovative new therapies and, no, she won't remove them from there so that Severus Snape can attempt to heal them.
The advancement duels between Harry & Hermione and Harry & Neville should convince everyone that he plays no favorites as well as point up just how experienced they are compared to the rest of the Jedi Apprentices. Methinks those globes will help add to their experience (and so "experience is what keeps you from making mistakes; mistakes are what give you experience" is proven yet again).
I'll agree with Teresa in regard to Draco, that "boy" is going to have a way too interesting spring term for his own safety (then again, he's arrogant enough to believe he doesn't need worry about that, he'll learn otherwis and I'm sure McGonagall, Flich, Severus, and Tom will find it "interesting" to instruct him).Author's response
Heya Cat!
Yeah, it did start the chapter off n a lighter note. I can actually see that happening, though. As for the jokes, yeah, I've seen that too!
Tommy: Anything that gives him a headache, is good in my book!
Sybill's fate will be decided in this next chapter, including my reasoning.
Tom/Dobby: Heartburn! I loved the way you said that! Having eatn Haneros, I quite agree. While they aren't the hottest peppers on Earth, they are more than hot enough for me!
And as for Snape, ummm...no. He is working for a psychotic dictator with grandiose dreams and no sense of humour.
Harry and the dirty work: I used my own sense of fairness there. Since I would never consider doing something like that by remote control, I cannot picture Harry doing so either.
Albie's reaction: Basically, yes, except Augusta won't even talk to him. (Remember, she's now convinced he was responsible for Frank's and Alice's condition.) As far as she's concerned, he's no better than Voldemort.
I explained my reasoning to Teresa for the advancement duels. Still, anyone who claims Hermione is being advanced because Harry's sweet on her is gong to come to face him, her, Neville, Remus, Tonks, Dobby and worst of all...Mackenzie!
The remotes are definitely gonna keep them on their toes. When Moody seen them, he's gonna say: "I want a hundred!"
Spring term: Here's where the whole thing begins to tie together. the events of late April will be a major focus point in the story...not in the actions, but in their effects.
Draco is going to try to skiv off his detentions, and get more for his trouble, and his 'sessions with Snape are going to hurt!
Until next time...

Rereading this, I noticed a problem.
Harry promised Dobby that he would not use blood magic using Dumbledore's blood that he had taken.
The three drops of blood into the lemon drop bag is the probem.
The easy way around it is to get a needle and poke the hanging bit of flesh on Dummydore's ear. Red Cross does it all the time to get the blood needed for a test before a person gives a pint of blood.Author's response
Heya Disruptor.
You are absolutely right. I blew it. I had Harry use the very method Dumbledore uses, to control him.
What's worse, the use of compulsions is a major thread in the story.
Your suggestion would be good except for one thing. Dumbledore wouldn't volunteer the blood and taking it when he was unconscious, as Dobby did, makes it 'forcibly taken'.
A potential out, is when Harry spoke to Arthur and gave his oath that he wouldn't become a dark wizard, he also said he wouldn't shy away from using magicks that people would consider dark. It's thin, but that's all I can think of.
Once more, you are absolutely right. I screwed up.

The blood that Dobby took is the problem(Harry promised he wouldn't use it that way). If Harry takes the blood, that's another matter. That's what I was pointing out. Using a bit of flesh would be even easier. Pull a hair(or three), maybe one growing on the ear(Dumbly is old enough for that to be happening) and use the small blob of flesh at the end and shove it between the seems of the bag and a sticking cahrm to prevent them from being removed.Author's response
Yeah, that would work. If I decide to edit this, or when I post it on FF.n, (assuming I get past their current stupidity), I'll look into it. Still it would be 'forcibly taken' unless he finds it in Dumbley's hairbrush. (Hey! There's an idea!)
As for a sticking charm, the reason I did it this way was because there wouldn't be any 'foreign magic' that Dumbledore could detect. Since the first compulsion was to ignore any idea of compulsions, and was anchored to his blood, I basically protected the other two.

I've been thinking about it. You need blood willingly given or disacarded and Dumbly has a sweet tooth. He may get blisters that pop when he brushes his tetth and that toothbrush could have Dumbly's blood on it. Just put a bit of water on the toothbrush and then get the drops of blood and salivia that the toothbrush will diespense after getting wet once more.
Hope that helps a bit.Author's response
Heya Disruptor.
There are gonna be problems however I do this. Dumbledore is far too paranoid, especially now to not recognize the hazards or potential hazards of blood, so, I cannot see him not scouring everything of any lost blood. that's why I set up his 'accident' in August.
Because he was knocked out("We found you at the bottom of a flight of stairs, unconscious and bleeding heavily.") there's no way to account for any missing blood and Dumbledore will assume the house elves cleaned up the mess. They can verify that, because by the time they got there Dobby had already gone. They cleaned up the blood /that they found/.
After much brain-wracking, I've decided to go with the 'military necessity' angle. For the nanites to be effective, Dumbley had to ingest a certain amount, Harry had to ensure he couldn't detect any difference in his lemon drops and so, he used the compulsions. That he used the blood to anchor them was the spur of the moment decision. the blood was on hand, so he used it. That decision will give him a few days of heartburn in the next chapter but it will be worked out, by someone with a strong will.

Brilliant chapter!
I liked the handling of Hermione being late. I've read way too many five where the girl gets pregnant despite the potions because the author wants some silly angsting. It's good to see Hermione enjoying be sparring, and bringing that energy to bed after :)Author's response
Hey Pfiel.
Ah! Those three little words that all teenaged boys far beyond fear.
While Hermione has a poor self-image, she truly loves Harry. more, he knows that no matter what, Harry loves hr as well.
"When my Pauline first thought she was preggers, she came to me and we dd basically the same thing. we celebrated, then we went to make sure. And when it turned out to be a false alarm, we tried again.
It took awhile, but we enjoyed the practice.

Like Trelawney gonna know the difference?! I seriously doubt she's even heard of the Star Wars movies never mind the books and such! So if there should've been three moons or twenty thousand, it's not she's gonna know! It'd be like asking someone how many planets orbit a star so distant we're only just seeing the light of its birth now and not its death as we would were we closer. So it doesn't really matter. This story has been edited and changed since I last read it. This time Harry's removing Dumbledore's magic. Last time he made him used the nanites to make him senile. The biggest problem coming up for Dumbles will be living without his magic. He's well over a hundred and had it all his life. So this is gonna be a huge adjustment for him.
