You're really Norwegian? Hello almost neighbor (I'm Finnish)! Okay technically we ARE neighbors, there is some shared border... Ah, forget it :D Oh! One of my favorite bands is from Norway!
I'm not sure exactly what sort of help you're looking for, so I don't know what to say. I had a lot of trouble at first, too, and I still do sometimes, so don't worry if you don't figure shit out right away.
As for the English thing, don't worry if your English isn't perfect 100% of the time, mine isn't either and no one's murdered me for it yet.Author's response
Hi there neighbour! :D What band? c:
I'm mostly just looking for the basic help, like how the main things work, like rating, rewieving, posting and stuff. How does this site work..?

Well, you've made an account, and posted something. That's a good start :)
And I agree with Poppana.
We can't help you until we know what's wrongAuthor's response
The posting part was kinda easy to figure out. ^^How does this site work..?

Go to the little box, My Account, and, to post a story, click on one of the blue links.
If you want to post a story, click on a blue link that says "Stories". It'll take you to a page where you can Add A Story. If it's just a one shot, a story that's told in one chapter, once it's posted, you can click on another link that'll say, No, under a box that says "Completed?", which will change it to "Yes" meaning that the story will be completed.
Once you've completed it, you can still edit it if you find a mistake, by clicking a blue link under the "Options" box.
If you find you want to continue a completed story, you can click, under the "Options" box, a blue link that says "Add A Chapter" and add another chapter. You can switch the Completed status at any time.
To organise chapters, next to any chapter you've labeled and added, click on the blue file thingy next the the chapter's name.
To respond to fellow reviewers, go to the My Account tab again. There's a blue link that says "Reviews". You'll see every single review you have, and for which story it's on. To respond, under the review will be a blue "Respond" button. Click on it and add your response!
To search for a fiction, fo to the Search tab and type in anything to do with the story. Then, search. If that gets you to nowhere, simply ask! :D
I'm AJ, by the way! XD
Also, to click on someone's profile and see what they have, you can simply click on my name. That'll take you to my stories, things I've posted, my favorites, etc.
Also, to add something to your favorites, you can go to the bottom of a chapter, and click "Add To Favorites". To manage your favorites, go to the "My Account" tab and click on the blue "favorites" link. You can also add Authors to favorites, and manage them there too.
To add an author to favorites, go to their profile and click "Add To Favorites" up by their profile.
See the box up there that says "Rating points"? Whichever number you have, you can use on stories only once. They're updated every Sunday. To rate a story, go to the bottom of a chapter and click a blue box that says "Rate This Story" and you can choose whether to rate it positively or negatively.
The good ratings are in green, the bad in red, or white, depending if someone's rated it down.
Don't go on a down rating rampage, though. That hurts people, and some jerks came on the site and rated the stories of some authors, like myself, down for no reason.
Be prepared for that to happen.
So, I hope I helped! :DAuthor's response
Yes, it did indeed help. Thanks! :DHow does this site work..?

I see you already got help with all the basics, so... Welcome to Ficwad I suppose :D
The band I mentioned above is Kaizers Orchestra, they are soooooo good! I can't understand any of the lyrics or anything but that doesn't bother me at all.Author's response
Oh, I've heard of them! But I'm just to lazy to check 'em out (maybe I'll do it sometime in the future though, 'cause I have a few friends who like them. cx)How does this site work..?

Okay, imma keep it simple and not talk about posting stories cause AJ(atomickilljoy) seemed to have covered it.
So you read a story(no really? It's what youdo; okay enough dissing myself through alteregos) then if you liked it you can do 2 things, rate and review (otherwise known as r&r)
It's all pretty simple, you get to the bottom of the chapter/story it gives you options; review story, add to favorites and rate.
If you really fucking loved it and wanna read it over and over every day, add it to your favorites (a place on your profile where it saves all your favorite stories; known as favorited stories...or something like that)
To rate, you click the 'rate this story' button; and choose which rating best describes the story (exciting, moving, hott; etc.) buy try and shy away from the down ones (hurts an authors confidence when someone goes cunt and rates it down rather than reveiw)
Oh and those5 rating points? They always get added backto your account (if you use them enough you get more than 5)
To reveiw, just click the 'reveiw this story button' add a good reveiw (otherwise known as this site won't let you post REALLY short reveiws). Once done writing about what you thought of the works, click submit
HOPE THIS HELPEDAuthor's response
Thanks for the help! :DHow does this site work..?

From the looks of things, you already know how to post stuff. But this is pretty much how it goes.
How to Succeed in Ficwad Without Actually Trying:
1) Under no circumstance do you hate publicly on MCR. Do not call anyone gay. Do not side with trolls.
2) Stay decidedly neutral on author flamewars.
3) Spelling, syntax, and grammar aren't actually that important on here, although it is irritating when it's not done right.
4) If you want to become popular quickly, write MCR fanfiction, preferably Frerard.
5) Just like in real life, sex sells.
6) Do not put things that are not MCR in the MCR category. People think it's spamming, even though there's nearly what, 400 pages of fanfics and I don't think a few notes will hurt.
7) Don't hate on popular authors. If you hate them, and I'm talking down-to-your-marrow, and somebody asks you how you feel about them, YOU LIE. Say that they're your inspiration, and they've got a very nice personality and writing style.
It's not nice and it's not honest, but it keeps you from getting hate.Author's response
I look up to MCR, so no prob there. I don't use gay as an insult ('cause I'm bisexual myself and have some awesome gay friends) and trolls are annoying, so yeah..
If that means that I'm not supposed to get involved in stuff, I usually don't anyway.
I'm Norwegian, so I do have a few errors, but not something worth killing for.
I'm more into reading it, but.. meh, maybe. :3
No comment on that one..
I just posted it there because I know it's the most used category (yeah, yeah, bad karma or something)
I shall keep that in mind. ^^
