I personally find this chapter to be cuteness and I love Robert Munsch's book, Love You Forever.

Scarlett put Delilah in her room away from the other kids. Then she went to Al's office to tell him. When Scarlett left the room Delilah shut her light off and crawled into her bed. She tried to go to sleep, but she just couldn't. Instead she laid in her bed with Julius' mittens on as she rubbed her body, trying to stop the painful itching.

Scarlett walked into Al's office to find him playing a videogame on his computer. He quickly shut his screen off and turned his attention to Scarlett. She sat down on a chair and cut to the chase. "Delilah has the chickenpox's."

"And..."

"Well what should we do? Do we keep her away from the other children or do we keep her close to them so they can catch it to."

Al sat up in his chair. "Just, keep her away from them. All of the other children have had the chickenpox's before."

"Oh yeah hey. She'll probably just get even more upset if she was around the other children and... Wait you said all of the other children. Does that include Julius? Because I don't remember him having them."

"I remember when he was about three and his parents took about two weeks off. They said it was because of Julius."

"Did they say it was because he had the chickenpox's?"

"No, but I assumed it was. Plus it doesn't like, matter."

Scarlett was confused, "Why?"

"Because if he has had them, then he won't get them and if he hasn't had them then he'll get them now. He was hanging out with her all day yesterday and all day before that and before that and so on. But for now I would still keep him away from her. As you said she may get upset, seeing Julius all healthy."

"Okay I'll go tell, Julius to keep away from Delilah and I should probably go check on her." Scarlett got up and left Al's office. Al turned back on his computer screen and continued to play his game.

Delilah shot up as she heard her door squeak opened. Light shone in though the opened door, then it became pitch black as the door closed. Delilah heard a noise by the, now closed door and felt the presences of another. As she sat still she forgot about her itchy body. Now instead of being itchy she was scared.

A hand rested on her arm. If she wasn't so petrified then she probably would have screamed. "Hi, De." Delilah relaxed as she realized who it was. Not only did she recognize his voice, but only one person called her, De.

"Julius."

A bright light shone in her eye she heard Julius say, "Sorry." then it was gone. In one hand Julius had a flash light in the other was a book. He showed her the book. On the cover it had a toddler in the bathroom with a watch in his hand, it was called "Love You Forever" and it was by Robert Munsch, Julius' favorite author.

Julius already knew the answer, it was going to be the same answer it had been ever since he learned to read, but he asked anyway, "Want me to read to you?"

"Yes please." Delilah slid over as Julius crawled onto her bed. He sat right beside her so that their sides were touching and he pulled the covers from underneath himself and put them over his and Delilah legs. He got comfy then rested the book on the middle of their legs. He slowly turned to the first page and shone the flash light on it. He began to read in his nice calm voice. "A mother held her new baby and very slowly rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while she held him, she sang:
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be..." Even though Delilah's reading level was higher then Julius', he was the one that always read to her, not the other way around. It was because of his voice. His voice was so sweet that it could calm you down and put you to sleep no matter what had happened to you. "...Well, that mother, she got older. She got older and older and older. One day she called up her son and said, "You'd better come see me because I'm very old and sick." So her son came to see her. When he came in the door she tried to sing the song. She sang:
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always..." With her itchiness long forgotten, Delilah leaned her head on Julius' shoulder, this was something that she didn't usually do. "But she couldn't finish because she was too old and sick. The son went to his mother. He picked her up and rocked her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And he sang this song:
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my Mommy you'll be." Julius looked at Delilah. She was asleep, but he continued the story anyway. "When the son came home that night, he stood for a long time at the top of the stairs. Then he went into the room where his very new baby daughter was sleeping. He picked her up in his arms and very slowly rocked her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while he rocked her he sang:
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be."
