Heavy man, real heavy. A serious dose of reality to the 'verse. It happens more often than ever gets reported in real life.
Harry just slipped through the cracks.Author's response
Hello, Shadowknight.
You’re absolutely correct. It does happen all too frequently. One of my most fervent complaints.
~Harry just slipped through the cracks.~
I disagree with that. Harry didn’t slip through the cracks…he was forced through them by a duplicitous old man who never gave a thought as to who he would hurt in his quest to become God.
The sequel, ‘Discovery : revisited’ gives a bit of follow-up to little Harry’s death and explores some consequences.

My sympathies for your own experience and I'm surprised the military were allowed to do that in peacetime. 19 DAYS?! What the hell do they want? Recurits or dead people!?! :-O shockedAuthor's response
I’ve found that the Navy doesn’t care in the slightest about the enlisted men. To the higher ups, we’re basically expendable tools, which is pretty stupid given that we do their jobs for them.

A moving and sad piece of fiction. I have read many stories where the Dursley's do horrible things to Harry, but the death of a child is a tragedy. I like stories where he is rescued and finds the love he deserves. It gives me a feeling that there is justice in a fictional world when there is little in our own. I, like many others feel that there is a special place in Hell for those who abuse a child.A Shockng Discovery

But this can't be right! Harry can't be dead! Why the Great Albus Dumbledore placed Harry there himself! And he couldn't possibly make that kind of mistake! And if you believe all that tripe, I've got some land down south to sell you as well a bridge or two and a tower in France. Yes! A tower in France! Believe it or not a conman managed to sell it after WWI. He convinced several contractors that the French Government was going to tear it down and replace it with something else. Needless to say after they paid him his fee, they never saw him again. Nor was there EVER any talk about tearing down the Eiffel Tower for any reason. ABSOLUTELY TRUE STORY! :)
