  You know I love this story and Joe's reaction to finding out about Brenda and Carl was very admirable of him.
  
  Don't you worry about taking a while to update on stories. Sometimes it best to just take some time for yourself. I support you no matter what!

  Aww. What a sweet guy Joseph is. Concerned about hurting his friend, even unintentionally. With this chapter I see Brenda in a slightly more sympathetic light...(but not much). I mean, she put everything on the line, emotion-wise, for Joe...and got told they needed "a break". Ouch.

  I'm glad Brenda doesn't (just) come off as a cold-hearted bitch. Especially since if she was, what would that say about Carl being somewhat in love with her? ;)

  haha. i swear you crack me up with how you write your stories. the whole "confused narrator" part and everything is hilarious and keeps me reading. all in all, you are one awesome chicka :]

  Wow, you know, for never expecting that ending in the LAST chapter, you sum it up so very well in this one! I'm so very impressed with your writing, Alex!
  
  Anyway, for not liking Brenda very much in previous chapters, you really make me feel a little sorry for her in this one. It makes me wonder how this 'love triangle' of sorts will play out. And I'm so glad Joe stuck up for his friend Carl! :D You make me smile.
  And I hope all is well in your personal world; we all need to take some time away from Ficwad every now and then.

  Aw, I love Joe.
  Fictional Joe has just gone up about a million fold in my esteem. What a sweetie. You write him so well.
  And I even have some sympathy for that Brenda. Although I strongly suspect she won't deserve it.
  Great chapter. Have I told you lately that I love you? And not in a crappy Rod Stewart kinda way?

  Thanks for the Joe praise. I still have to figure Brenda out myself. Mostly figure out how big of a role she will play in the rest of the story.

  hey,
  
  i'm caught up on this one. let me tell you what i think:
  
  1.) why do i reserve lists for you? gah, off subject. anyway.
  
  2.)A Joe story. I like that it gets beyond the fact that he has a speech impediment, and that he's actually a good guy (taking it slow with Brenda, feeling bad about Carls situation ...he's sympathetic and i like it). But he's still has his flaws. you write joe like no other. seriously.
  
  2.) you gave CeCe a cameo. she was wicked-cool.
  
  3.)dax is amazingly adorable. i can almost picture his cute little beagle self.
  
  4.) i don't really know if i like brenda. i have this part of me that feels like she's cool, because she's so self-confident and comfortable with herself, but this other part of me feels like she's just not right for joe. only time will tell.
  
  i really don't know what else to say right now. i promise more with the next one.
