When Vernon Didn't Miss

So Snape and his students are learning discrecion. At least some of them might make it through this transition. Of course, Malfoy, Snape and Parkinson will test the boundaries at some point. I wonder who will deal with them, Harry and Hermione, or McGonagall and company? If the're lucky it will be the teachers. If not their world view will be fractured even more. The talk between Osiris and Dumbles was interesting, and an excellent explanation of the Brotherhood's lack of action during the Grindelwald/Voldemort period. Will they rebuild their information network even if they refrain from direct action? Is Malfoy Sr. considering how to ride out this upheval without becoming the next hot story in the Daily Prophet? He might like photo ops, but ending up like Crabbe and Goyle Seniors wouldn't be on his list of things to do. At least so far Snape seems to be keeping a low profile, but he really hasn't learned very much, has he? Trying to do an end run into what's going on with Harry via his friends could cost him dearly. Ah well, I'm sure Dumbles and Malfoy Sr. will give him a nice funeral. It's also nice to see the other students gaining a respite from Snape and his pack of bullies, and approaching the Druids and others to get a greater understanding of the world. Many thanks for this chapter Dr T, and I look ahead to the next! When Vernon Didn't Miss

Pretty good update, though there was a bit too much introspection compared to action for my tastes. Hope to see more soon. When Vernon Didn't Miss

Interesting chapter, a lot of setting the table this time in preparation for something.
I hope we can get some more dialogue next chapter, and see how Harry is handling Hogwarts and how it is affecting his friends.
Thanks for writing,

Well, all the good ratings are used up and I refuse to give a bad rating 'cause it's undeserved.
Moving on to the chapter, it's definitely a introspective one and it appears that Albus, along with Severus and his House, is starting to acquire a small amount of discretion and some form of wisdom (it's not quite "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" as the Bible has it, but it's definitely a fear that has them re-examining things and realizing truths they've wanted to avoid).
Severus does seem disturbed that he's loosing control on so many levels and I can't feel sorry for him. 'Twill be interesting to see if he manages to control himself.
I did enjoy the hint that things aren't as cozy as they were 'tween Harry & Ron, and I'll be the deeper relationship 'tween Harry & Hermione has Ron annoyed and affronted, too.
I'm looking forward to more of this story. When Vernon Didn't Miss

This chapter seemed more like a bridging chapter than anything else. I was hoping for a bit more action or at least some close up of the interaction between Hermione and Harry.Author's response
The next chapter has Halloween in it, maybe that will meet your expectationsWhen Vernon Didn't Miss

Another excellent chapter, filling in background for future actions in this chapter - This is one of the 1st fics that I have read in over 1k where McGonagall has a genuine heart to heart conversation and wake up call with Harry this early chronologically. - I also appreciated the background information as it relates to the 'Rescue' universe.
thanks for continuing to share your talent - It truly is appreciated.
warm regards

oooooh the little snakes figure that of course there powerful after all we keep it in the family and anybody with any brains of course has to know that if you marry your sister and or cousin who share the same blood as you then of course you have to get more powerful and the idiots that think if you actually lower yourself and actually touch a mudblood let alone have sex with one...shudders! How can those moronic cretins actually believe that bringing in mudblood (new) blood will renew and make our blood stronger, how much of an idiot do they think we are!

Beats me, but that's what canon has the Ministry doing (remember what Umbridge was up to, after all)

I continue to enjoy your work. This chapter was long on background and short on Harry but it is often necessary to set the stage for future events. Thanks for writing. W.When Vernon Didn't Miss

Really enjoying your work. The way you have incorporated some post DH canon with your own blend of fanon is excellent.
