Today was the day. All Gerard had to do was go back to New Jersey, pick up Tegan at the airport, bring her home, and have some bonding time... simple, right? He was only in Arizona, so atleast it wouldn't be an inzanely long flight. By the time he landed, his daughter's plane would be arriving just outside of the state.

Growing antsy with nervousness and anticipation, Gerard and Frank, who'd insisted he came along, stood by the baggage claim area waiting for the bags to come out on the moving tables. That's when Gerard had noticed a little girl sitting in the airport chairs, with a women who wore a flight attendant uniform. Both seemed to be searching the crowd.

Could it possibly be? he thought, as his bag came into veiw. Frank grabbed it, set it down and soon after got his own.

"Frank," Gerard barely whispered. His gut feeling was telling him that this was it. "/Frank/," he said louder.

Frank turned and looked at the little girl. "Thought she was supposed to be arriving after you?" he said, mostly to himself. They both walked over, rolling their bags behind them.

"Hi," Gerard said, looking at the little girl. She had blonde hair which was up in a messy ponytail. Obviously she'd fallen asleep on her flight. She looked at him, her eyes a beautiful sparkling green. Her skin was pale, and her nose had the same shape as Gerard's.

Smiling, the girl, "Hello. Are you Gerard Way?" She had a thick Spanish accent.

Unable to speak, he nodded, and smiled. "Tegan Ruby?"

She nodded back. "Your my dad."

Gerard teared up. Before this moment, he wasn't sure he wanted anything to do with parenthood. Now he knew what it was like... she was a peice of him. "Your my daughter," he replied.

The flight attendant off to Tegan's side spoke up, "I'm Stacy." Everyone shook hands. "Um, here, this is some paperwork I'm supposed to give you. From the adoption agency." Stacy handed Gerard a thick manilla folder.

"I'm Frank," Frank said, waving his hand.

Everyone stood there for a minute, in a somewhat-awkward moment.

Gerard took a deep breath in. "Are you ready to go home, Tegan?"

His daughter said nothing, just gave him a huge ear-to-ear grin. On her mother it had looked goofy--- on his daughter, it was the cutest thing he'd ever seen.
