Great chapter...n am really liking the way harry/daphne is progressing. Hope you don't separate them.
Nevelli is as usual at his best, n looking too cool.
Interesting to see wil b tracy's reaction to all this(date). And others reactions as well spl Dumbledore and Ginny.
I seriously hope you have someone (preferable a very witty, slytherin daphne) put her down publically while defending harry. That would be awesom to watch.
Keep updating.Author's response
- I think I've got a solution to my Daphne problem figured out.
- I like Nev.
- There will be a few confrontations sparked by the two day date... Including one with the broomstick...Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts

Right you realise that 'VI' is 6 not four, right?
IV A New Hope

You put 'VI A New Hope'Author's response
- Ah, you see, in this AU the Romans numerated from right to left.
- Yeah. That's what happened.
- Honest.
- [sigh] fixed.Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts

Your story is very enjoyable as always. However I have one problem with it. For me Harry and Slytherin Ice Queen (usually Daphne or Blaise)ship is an overused cliche, almost all Slytherin girl (except Pansy) with relationship with our hero shows this feature. Fortunately, you only partially build on this character, but I advise, try to make more unique your Daphne
Finally I would not mind if Harry later date with an other girl (e.g. with an intelligent Rawenclaw, this is very rare in the fanfics).Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts

This was a fun chapter. I am really getting into your characterization of Daphne. I'd honestly like to see them stick together throughout the story. Maybe not exclusively at first, but perhaps once Harry feels like he is ready to "move to the next level" it's be nice to see them as the final couple. Then again, you may just blow me away by getting Harry together with someone he can connect to on all levels. :)
I got to thinking about Ron & Hermione vs the Weasleys (does that include the Twins too btw?)... Anyways, you've hinted that Ginny is a jealous, spiteful little... witch, and that she is running interference between Harry and his friends. Question is how? "Running to Molly"?! They're at Hogwarts, all she can do is send a Howler! And I would have to believe someone as smart as Hermione would be able to block those. What I am getting at is that you need to explain the enforced dissolution of the trio and the consequences of violating that dissolution more clearly so we can understand where the characters are coming from.Author's response
- Thank you. Daphne is surprising me as well with the engaging character she is turning out to be. There will be a few more girls in Harry's social circle, who will end up with whom? Hard to tell.
The Twins are, like Ron, under 'orders' to stay away from Harry, which they ignore. When he attempted to visit in chapter two, Ginny was working at WWW and Fred headed Harry off to avoid the confrontation that would have taken place - Bad for Business and all that.
- The cause of the falling apart of the trio, in my view comes to this. Ron, while not a 'Bad Guy' in this story isn't the most mature guy on the block. Molly has successfully made him into the biggest Mommasboy anyone would ever care to see. He is under orders to stay away from Harry, and the Broomstick makes sure Molly finds out when ever Ron disobeys the prime directive. Ron has just folded to the pressure. Hermione, deeply, stupidly, in love with Ron avoids Harry to keep Ron out of trouble with Molly. Harry understands and stays away himself.Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts

This was brilliant, and the final little conversation at her door was incredible. I just love a confident Neville, as well. This Harry, who actually has the upper hand, thanks to the clause, is such a pleasure to read. I like your warped Reaper as well, but this more confident, flirty guy is bloody entertaining.
Calligraphy pens? That's going to cause a stir among the Stalebloods, all right.
Thanks

- I like Harry, if for no other reason than he's a much better person than I was at that age. At 17 I would have been all over her at the invitation...
- Neville's a good guy too. I'm trying to get him more screen time.
- Ah, their gene-pool could use a good chlorination...Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts

It is interesting to see Hermione get that reality check. It is hope that the Ron / Hermione ship will soon be sinking into the depths of the ocean. She can do much better than him.Author's response
yes, but it will be hard.Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts

You have a well crafted story here. The frantic pace of a romance that is set in the middle of the 'war' with Voldemort would be inappropriate here, and you've done a good job slowing it down with two wary people (teenage hormones notwithstanding). And while not strongly developed, you do have the conflict with the Weasleys, Remus, and Dumbledore to add some drama to the mix.Author's response
- Thank you. The relationship (as you said, hormones not withstanding) is going to move slowly, no one is looking to end up bound forever...
- The conflict(s) will be explained starting about chapter 6 (maybe seven)Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts

are you going to break up Hermione and Ron ??
Please please pelase do !!! Ron's stupid to abandon his best friend just because his mother said so. At least hermione talks to him when she finds him alone.
please make hermione get to know the new Harry and put her together with some Slytherin as well (you could invent this character), that perahps Daphne could introduce her.
A good slytherin could spice her life a bit...Author's response
- Not me, I'd never come between them (my wife would kill me for even looking at a girl Hermione's age... even projecting out to her 'current' age of 27)
- Ron on the other hand, well, he's not exactly a bad guy, but I think everyone can agree that sometimes, he's something of an ass...
- As to who Hermione ends up with, with the war over, there's no hurry to get tied down anylonger...
