The Wizard on the Edge of Forever

A really bittersweet chapter here, and was glad to see that it seems like there was wizards around for awhile, and liking the linkage to the new movie as well, and also Harry and his being able to go to school and be just himself, with nothing more on him than usual teen troubles it seems. Well done!Author's response
I'm glad that you liked the chapter. I hope that your going to keep reading. I have some plans coming to fruition in the next few chapters. they may seem boring, but the next few are the setup for the resolution for this whole story. When the resolution comes, Hold onto your hat!

Interesting use of the Dursleys; but not much resolution to Harry's problems!Author's response
This is very true. by my current outline, in three chapters, the questions regarding the wizarding world will be answered.

Well either Voldy rannoff the Muggleborn and slowly took over the Wizarding world til the Muggle wars ended that, or they all lsft to found a magical Colony on another planet!
This is going to be a long story!

Good Guesses but nope on either one. I have a plan and as far as I know no one has used it in other fan fics as of yet. It will be revealed in a few chapters though.

Heh, this was a most interesting chapter. It appears that Harry did go backtime at some point and you have to wonder just what affects his knowledge of the future had. 'Twas quite interesting to see the Dursleys actually providing some most interesting clues to matters. I admit to wondering what was watching him in Remembrance Park and I can't help but wonder if the goblins were sealed underground by that explosion but are still monitoring "topside" for wizards and/or traces of magic? 'Twill be very interesting to see what you've got set up as well as what "adventures" Harry has before returning to his home time.
BTW, I'll agree with Wonderbee31 that the bit with the Corvette was a touch tie-in with the movie.Author's response
Believe it or not, the bit with the corvette was actually an homage to a stunt a friend of mine pulled back in college in the early 1990's. He got clocked doing around 120 mph on the interstate in his dads 65 'vette. When he was pulled over for the tickets, he pulled it a little to far off the road and it slid into a ditch damaging the car in such a way that it couldn't be driven until the suspension was repaired. I didn't see the trailer for the Movie until after I had written that part.
Chunks of this story are already roughed out and as I get to the chapters I want them in, I insert and polish to fit as necessary.
Goblins are floating around, but at the moment, just like the rest of the wizarding world, aren't going to be interacting with Harry.
Have no fear though, all will be revealed in later chapters.

Interesting story so far and not bogged down with Star Trek references.
The bit with the rifle I think is a little much but passable.
If Hermione had been in Australia or the US when the 'war' happened then she may have descendants somewhere. The Wizard on the Edge of Forever

Nice ending with the Dursley descendant and it's nice to think that some of the Weasley's survived.
At this point, aside from a quick visit to Hogwarts, I'm hoping you'll stick to the current issues Harry has and his immediate future rather than his history.
Hopefully he'll get a girlfriend and enjoy being a teenager for a while. His English accent should certainly - as you started - make him interesting to the girls.
Oh, one more thing- in regards to Harry being at Dudley's bedside, I'm hoping that when Harry goes back in time - if he goes back - that you won't be afraid of changing history.
Good luck with the next chapter.Author's response
No need to worry about that. Harry knows as well as anyone can on what he can and can't do to the timeline and not cause the universe to explode. I can't say that Harry will or won't go back in time, but I can say that if and when he does it will be in cannon.

Most interesting chapter. Glad to see Harry gets to be a normal teen. I like the little hints of references to the past in the marker and the Wealsey's. With Dudley that was a nice bit. One thing, Jackson should be Cousin Jack not Uncle Jack. Dudley was Harry's first cousin, any of his decedents would still be cousins. The Wizard on the Edge of Forever

great story you have here very intresting way you have woven star trek and harry potter together although you have left mer with a lot of questions,
Did Tom die in the war or is he still floteing around somewhere,
What has happend to hogwart's
When reading this chapter i dont think that harry really spoke to dudley when he was in a coma so i dont think they will be any time travel with harry going back,
as for the magic that trys to tell harry to 'get out of england' at first i thought that was for any magic users that are not human(like vulcans or kligions) but when harry used magic the feeling got stronger so that would not deture any one being nosey about what is happening, harry finding at least one family decendent alive was a nice touch to the story, the fact that you never sent harry to hogwarts tell's me that the school might have something to do in the future chapters and what of the goblins/centars/house elves?
Author's response
Lord Snakeyness will be dealt with in another chapter as will Hogwarts. I cant comment on the way the warding is working at this time, but there is a logic to it. Other magical creatures are also going to be explained out later on as well.

Interesting story. I wonder what happened to all the wizards and witches. It was hard enough for them to hide in 20th century earth. I doubt they could have stayed hidden in the ST era.
So either Harry went back in time to talk to his cousin, or Harry is in a parallel universe, where his younger self in now dead.
I wonder if your going to have Section 31 show up and recruit Harry. Heck Section 31 could be part of the Magical Government, That's why they seem to have better Tech then what;s generally available.
I generally don't like stories that combine Sci-fi with Harry Potter, but am interested to see what you do with this story.
Author's response
I'm glad that your taking a chance on this story. I'm trying to keep it as close as possible to what might really happen should both universes cross.
Harry going back in time to visit his cousin or being a parallel universe, well your right and wrong there. A Traumatic Brain Injury can cause all sorts of weird things to manifest in the patient. For now, thats as far as I am willing to say, but in both aspects your on the right track one moreso than the other.
Sorry, no section 31 sticking their noses into things, but should I do another similar story, I just may have them around. I have gotten several suggestions that would make a decent Nextgen or DS9 cross.

How come Harry doesn't know about Star Trek? Even if he's never seen the show. I would have expected one of the Muggle Borns to comment on how apperation is like the Transporter, and the Room of Requirement is like a Holo DeckAuthor's response
For the purposes of this storyliine, the Star Trek Multi-media empire was never created. Other shows of the same ilk such as Blake's 7, Dr. Who, Space 1999 and Red Dwarf filled the Niche that Star Trek created and has maintained all these years. (What can I say, I'm a fan of Brit Sci-fi to a certain extent)
