Oh, man. I can't wait to see what happens next. As weird as this sounds, I'm jealous for Gerard. I can't imagine how he must be feeling right now... The other dude seems too "perfect" to me and he's raising lots of red flags in my head from my (too many) dating experiences (with really charismatic jerks). Part of me hopes to hell I'm wrong and Victoria doesn't get hurt, but the other half of me (the hopeless fangirl half) want to see Gerard get her back.
I love Victoria so far, she is written realistically and she is someone who is easy to relate to. And I very much appreciate how you've characterized Gerard. He's not Gerard the rock star here, he's Gerard the human being. Again, can't wait to see what happens next!Author's response
I'm really not trying to make Logan weird, at all. He's actually based on the actor Logan Marshall-Green. I watched a couple of interviews and he speaks very rapidly with charm in every word. Not to mention, he's flawless. So Logan is pretty normal for the most part, he's a guy from the South; they are very old school in the way they approach females.
I tried to write Victoria with as many complexities as i could. No human on earth is one vessel and no matter how much of a 180 she did, she'll always have the better half of her past with her. In order to nail Gerard (figuratively, unfortunately) I twitter stalk him so I can get that real feel; how he interacts with people and what he has to say to the world. I met him before and he just gave off that a Devil-may-care attitude about what people thought about him. So to go and step on Logan's turf by kissing Victoria.Near Morning

Gerard is so wonderfully human in this story, and even though the infamous teen in me wants to dislike Logan, it's hard. And it should be, because -again- I don't think there's specific bad guys and good guys in life, we're all a bit of both and that's what makes us real. In fiction it's so easy to fall into that pattern of categorizing people as either the ones we cheer for, our heroes and objects of our sympathy and then the ones that mostly resemble villains, guys who enter the scene to ruin what we had planned out in our little heads. I love that you're braking that pattern, and making the teenage Ninane question herself and open my mind again to what I already know is real. It would just be so much easier to love the first guy and hate the other, as a reader, but often the things that are the easiest to read never stick with you and you simply forget the story the next day. Good job on the chapter, I truly admire your work!!Author's response
I'm so glad you're enjoying this as it's going along and I thought to make Gerard as Gerard as possible. I've never twitter stalked so hard just to get a better sense of him. I really want to make Logan a good guy but people are already telling me that he's pulling red flags when I hadn't even put them in there (WHOOPS!). By the way he spoke during his interview he has a lot of charm and he talks very rapidly. So I tried to catch that dynamic, now I have to really buff him around the edges to make him the good guy wipes sweat off of head
Thanks again for reviewing!!!Near Morning

OH MY GOD!
I'm fucking amazed!
This story is absolutely incredible. The whole story line, the characters, the description, the dialogue, just everything, its astounding, I can think of any other way to describe it, but I feel something off about this Logan character, not quite sure what it is yet though. I cant wait for the next update, I'm literally bouncing in my seat.

Logan is actually pretty normal. He's a Southern boy, they like to shower their women in compliments and be perfect gentlemen. He's based off of the actor Logan Marshall-Green. I fell absolutely in love with him in Prometheus and I thought his attitude and personality would be perfect for this story. I watched countless interviews to get his character down and I thought I did that pretty well. In order to make him less suspicious, I must polish him a little.
I'm ELATED that you enjoy the story! Stay tuned!Near Morning

Thank you so much for reviewing and I'm so glad you enjoyed the story! I will honestly let you know that I can't promise you anything about Gee & Victoria. To bring them together now, it would shorten the story and sour the character development. I'm not telling you that it will never happen but just keep reading.

i miss getting notifications to my email saying there is a new update... Surely you haven't put the story on hold? I cant take it!Author's response
The story is definitely not on hiatus, I updated almost eight days in a row, a chapter each day so I'm taking it little by little and finally getting some "Me" time. I started school again and now that I'm a Junior it's a workload out of this world! I have a demanding internship for Graphic Design, a job and a boyfriend who hardly gets to see me. Near Morning is definitely not going cold anytime soon, I just needed to step away for a bit!
