hum you really like making the daimyo seem like a all powerful character that has real strength behind him instead of the figure head that he really is
when seeing as this is post war naruto no one really has anything close to naruto "personal power" evidenced by him being a "super"(and i mean really super) chakra powerhouse(sasuke doesn't come even close, all he has is eye chakra tricks)
and political since to the whole fucking world he's a fucking hero
sasuke is indeed someone that despite helping to end the conflict is someone that was just there because the whole story revolved about naruto getting his "friend" back, if he was anything close to a true shinobi instead of the shonen version he would have moved on and find methods to deal with same problem without having to rely on someone that is on par with kabuto(and that is saying something) when it comes to switching sides
p.s. let's be serious here the only samurai of skill and power are the ones from Iron country, a neutral place that i guess allows their samurai to choose a master(daimyos) to serve as guards
shinobi villages are isolated because that's the whole point and not because they lack the power to take a country by themselves
and then are the army killers, yeah sorry but no army of samurai or shinobi could fight someone like the true powerhouses (madara, hashirama, gaara, naruto)of the shinobi world
so yeah the shinobi villages have a symbiotic realtionship with the daimyo because it benefits them to have it and not because they lack powerAuthor's response
First, lets just be clear. In the manga there is very little explanation to the point of the Daimyo. So honestly, I don't see the point of this review. To prove what, that Kishimoto didn't think his story through. I on the other hand try to bring a sense of reality to my stories, and there would be no point to following the Daimyo if as you point out he was just a figurehead. Take the British monarchy for example. They are a true figurehead, with the real power being in the Parliament and the Prime Minister. But the Monarchy was forced into the situation, they saw what was happening to the other ones and so when change reached the shores of Britain quickly agreed so as to keep their wealth. Yet, what explanation is there as to why the shinobi would follow the Daimyo in canon Naruto. Absolutely none, so again I really can't understand why my providing the idea that the Daimyo are actual forces to be considered is something you don't seem to comprehend. Otherwise they truly serve no purpose.
Secondly, the villages are not isolated, since everyone and their mother knows exactly where they are. Not exactly seeing your point here. How exactly do the Villages have a symbiotic relationship if the power rests solely on one side of the equation. If anything it would be a parasitic one in the case you present because the Shinobi get all the benefits, while the Daimyo just tries to keep them happy so as to hold onto his country by paying tribute. The Pride

You do realise the Daimyo is a paper tiger, and in the end, his approval means less than shit?
Tsunade would laugh in his face if he thought to actually press his opinion on who the next Hokage should be.
The Daimyo's are crucial in that they keep the rest of the country the village opperates in run smoothly- allowing them easy access to trade, and funding from missions he employs them on.
However, his successor will most likely prove much more co-operative than the current one. Thus, the toeing of line between each others authority. The villages let the daimyo run the country as he wills, and he lets them run the village as they like.
How the idea of the daimyo having power of any sort came to be continues to boggle my mind.
It's one of the worst plot points you can employ, simply for the cheapness of it- the 'big boss' who comes and issues orders that fuck the little guy.
When Naruto and Sasuke fought, Naruto had half of Kurama' chakra and had been fighting much longer than Sasuke. Sasuke in contrast, was draining power from 8 and a half biiju, was much fresher and still only came up even.
After, Naruto has access to all nine Biiju chakra, and enhanced regeneration provided by the Shodai's cells.
It should be no question who the Hokage should be- and the kage is always the strongest (or offered to the strongest [see Jiraiya]) which gives you strange things like a young third or the meathead that is the fourht Raikage.Author's response
You do realize that truthfully you have no idea how much or little the Daimyo is a Paper Tiger based on the actual manga. After all, it was the Daimyo that selected Danzou as the Sixth Hokage, who if even your own theory was correct Naruto should have been the Hokage then based solely on his defeating Pain. I mean seriously, the idea that the village exists solely at the Daimyo's behest was first introduced in the Naruto movie, Inheritor of the Will of Fire, where he threatened to destroy the village if they didn't deal with Hiruko. Now that is a filler example, would you like a canon one okay see below.
If you read the story, you'd also realize that one of the first items I established was that those powers faded. Granted I still believe Naruto is stronger, but strength alone should never be used to determine who is Hokage. After all, I tend to believe Shikamaru would be a far better Hokage then Naruto as presented in canon. Because, while Naruto was busy giving not a shit about the morale of the army, Shikamaru rallied them. Naruto as you describe him might be strong, but that doesn't make him a leader of men. Which a Hokage is.
But again, if the Daimyo was just a pushover as you claim then how do you explain Danzou. A crippled warrior who as he presented himself to the village was nowhere near his prime when he was selected as Hokage. Granted he used mind control on the DAimyo, but Shikaku was against it and yet Danzou was still made Hokage solely on the Daimyo's decision and it would be confirmed based on a vote of the jounin. Please base your opinions off of facts shown in the manga before proclaiming Naruto deserves everything just because he is strong. The Hokage is as much a political position or one based on popularity of the candidates as it is one earned by merit of strength.
I guess one other point I want to raise is that based solely on the Danzou example I gave, it would seem that I used the Daimyo exactly as Kishimoto did. Now, that might not do much to dispute it being one of the worst plot points one could use, especially as Kishimoto turned out to be a pretty cruddy writer. But, considering he brought the Daimyo in to pick Danzou as there was likely no other way for him to become Hokage, you could say the way the Fire Daimyo used in The Pride to install Sasuke is exactly the same as he was used in canon.
Not to mention your point about strength is irrelevant considering after the war Kakashi became Hokage not the supposedly strongest Naruto. That didn't happen till years later. The Pride

I had a thought, eroninja and the pride are a lot alike in that Naruto tries civilisation first but in the pride he doesn't have his family and eventually gives up on it as nobody but him seeks to truly want peace, so he instead works for what he wants, which is still peace but for himself since he couldn't get it for everyone. Thus with a little influence from kyuubi, the pride beginsThe Pride

I'm positively in love with all your stories, not only do you write epically great lemons but you add the flair of great plots, character detail and just plain ol great storytelling. I love Eroninja and anxiously chomp at the bit waiting for the story to continue. I'm very much in love with The Pride and The Promise and desperately hope that they're not abandoned I desperately want to see the relationship between Naruto and Hanabi develop and continue into The Promise and see the end result of Naruto's country and war with the Shinobi world as himself and his mates kick all sorts of ass. I anxiously await for the continuation of all your stories!
Keep up the great work!

Been following your work on FFN. Loved it then. Still loving it and followed it over here. Wondering if Samui, Karui, Yugito (if she's still alive), Temari, and a couple of kunoichi from Nadeshiko village will become part of The Pride.
Also wondering if Fuu will join and if The Pride will rebuild Whirlpool Village.
Keep up the good work.
