well, i do know. and i must say, you're a fabulous writer, my katy.
i always say "my katy" when i really know that you somehow belong to alex or something.
hey alex, where are you?
anyway, i like the way you present the different time periods as almost being parallel to each other. muy impressive. i love this, katy. truly. i'm impressed by your subplot abilities. please, send me some of your magic.
oh yeah, first DoJ sister to review.
i feel amazing.Author's response

Sighs
I try, but there just isn't words to form. I simply love this story. HOW? How do you do it? Every story you write, I'm purely amazed by your way with words.
I think I'm in love....(Who am I kidding? I totally know I am.)Author's response

But it's more than process, that word has the connotation of a beginning and an end, with grief, there is no closure, it's just another personality trait you have to lug around for the rest of your days. It's accepting the idea that you have to forego life without that person or that something and you have to make the changes in order to endure it. -> I love that. Katy. Some years ago I lost somebody who meant a lot to me. Probably the world to me, in those days. As years go by it doesn’t wear us down so much anymore (if we’re able to move on and distract ourselves) but we never forget and we always think about them. Blah… you said it perfectly. :)
I love how people poke fun at the stupid Herbal Essences shampoo commercials. I was gonna have Joe tell Sheena that if she misses orgasms (with Andy) she should use Herbal Essences. But yeah, then I found it too silly… ;)
dismissing the idea of beauty and replacing it with practicality -> I just adore your little aside comments. Your attention to detail and mood-setting is phenomenal. (Yay, a new adjective besides “awesome” and “plonktacular”!)
/There wasn't even time for words, the need had to be resolved, the need had to be fulfilled. Plummeting onto the bed, they continued to aggress each other in more than formal way and heavy-handed affection was all that the need would allow for.
The hidden figure of hers was now exposed and the unclaimed use of lights meant attention to detail was off the formats of passion tonight./ -> It’s probably just because I’m not a native speaker, but these lines demanded a lot from me. ;) And I enjoyed reading them over and over again until I (think) I fully understood them. :) Incredible style in this short paragraph. I’m in awe, Katy.
I agree with Sarah on two things:
1) the parallel scenes/ time structure – It’s unbelievably powerful and it gives the story depth and extra meaning. Also helps the reader to figure out why Ella is in such a bad condition.
2) Katy belongs to Alex. :)
This time I opted for an “ambiance” rating point, MY Katy. ;)Author's response

Why do I get the feeling that this story is going to suck up all my rating points? OK, where to start?
But it's more than process, that word has the connotation of a beginning and an end, with grief, there is no closure, it's just another personality trait you have to lug around for the rest of your days. -I absolutely loved how you worded that. I'm in awe right now.
Scrubbing her scalp hard with the Herbal Essences (no hairgasm included) -Cue giggles.
"We had a deal!! I bump off a few kids in my car and he get me the camera....it was a win-win situation!" -I find it interesting that Santa would have a Jew "take care" of the naughty kids. Coal simply isn't enough anymore.
"So I'm guessing either Snowman was got at by the sun or that you destroyed him in a rage of fury and anger!" he said. -Now this had me torn. Yes, I found it adorable...yet a little unnerving that he would hide something inside a snowman's cranial cavity. It was romantic in a creepy sort of way...perhaps it was creepmantic...? I don't know. On to the next chappie.Author's response
I know I had this whole Jew gag but in the spirit of kindness, thought best to refrain....The Twelve Days Of Christmas

i honestly hate being the last to review. all of the things i wanted to compliment you on have already been covered by the other DoJ girls. damn them.
i love how patrick and ella met each other. that is serious passion right there. i should give you a "hot" point, but generally i save those for Alex's stories, and i'm pretty sure you'd appreciate a "moving" point more. i would let you decide, but you AREN'T ON AIM RIGHT NOW.
this turned from a review to a ranting, so i'm just gonna quit while i'm ahead. seriously.
