You know, I thought it was a bit thin myself... Actually, I'm having a bit of difficulty working with the formatting in the new Ficwad. I had it down in the old coding but I need to work with it a it in the new. BJHLike Some Song You Can't Unlearn

Glad the necklace was resolved. But does the charms teacher still resign ? I did not find much of import in the last class discussion. sorry except for Hermione's progress I was bored. Still you have a wicked good story on your hands, I hope to read more, perhaps leaner text from you soon.Like Some Song You Can't Unlearn

Good chapter, I like the discussion about light/dark magic and what makes them what they are, I don't think I have seen that assimilation with destroy/build before and I find it more interesting than canon.
But I don't think the story has progressed much in this chapter, there is not much time between the two last chapters, perhaps you could haste it a bit.
On another point, will the other teachers or even Dumbledore ask Harry about his teaching of light/dark ? What will they think of it ?
Finally, I would like to congrulate you for on your story and let you know that I will continue to read it and, I hope, like it.
P.S. : Sorry if I made grammar mistakes, but I'm french, so english isn't my native language ^^.Author's response
No problem with your grammar, English is my native language but I still stumble a bit. Thanks for the review. BJHLike Some Song You Can't Unlearn

I loved this chapter, personally. It's a shame that we won't get to see more class discussions like this one, since I really enjoy them quite a bit. Still, I enjoy the whole story quite a bit, so there's no worries there.
You seem to have some serious formatting problems concerning apostrophes and quotation marks. Check out the chapter to find out for yourself. That's why I always submit my stories in .txt format.
Lastly, PLEASE don't incorporate the DH Snape/Lily thing. I agree with you that it doesn't justify his character at all (he still deserves a slow and painful death), but I can't help but feel like it's unnecessary and irritating. Still, so long as you keep Snape as you say, I'll have no real complaints.
Looking forward to the next chapter.Author's response
Oh, there will still be some discussions, it just won't be the main thrust as it has in the past. There are also a few ahem... discussions still to come with Albus. As to Snape's stalking Lily, which is how their relationship would be described today, I think I will use that as the reason James is so overboard with Harry. He's been dealing with Snivellus for so long he is a bit paranoid. BJH
As for the format thing, yeah, I need to work out the issues. I normally write in word and simply cut/paste into Ficwad but I will have to work on this a bit. BJHLike Some Song You Can't Unlearn

While the last couple of chapters have gotten a bit preachy. It's very appropriate for a DADA class, and it serves to make them and the reader think. I think you've done a very good job with it overall.
I'm enjoying this story very much and I always look forward to more of it.
Thanks for posting it for us to share.

Well done! I have to admit that I didn't expect it to be solved so quickly, that type of Austin country isn't that popular nowadays, but then I've always been a bit "Contrary to Ordinary". So, you wanna be a good guy or a bad guy? BJHLike Some Song You Can't Unlearn

Luna's question bears investigation (By the dedicated reporters of the Quibbler, of course.) Which chocolate frogs are boy frogs and which are girl frogs? Interested minds want to know!
Harry's lectures are well thought out and presented. I read your notes and disagree with your assessment. Odysseus is not being preachy. He's simply trying to get his students to think for themselves rather than simply take the Ministry's thoughts as their own. I think you should have used precedents, including the Nazi Party, Grindelwald and possibly Rasputin, but that likely would have garnered you a whole bunch of trouble.
Your last cliffy is almost expected. Odysseus has been harassing Ginny enough that Tom would be getting nervous. Maybe that's what he planned on, or they just got lucky.
I eagerly await the next page of 'Like a Song...'. AlorkinAuthor's response
The problem with beating a dead horse is that the meat gets tougher to chew. Next chapter is well on its way if I can figure out the formatting problems I've got now. BJHLike Some Song You Can't Unlearn

I can say this is one of my favorite harry in a different time story. I have read several, and it seems that without even a day going bye everyone knows that he is in a different world, or that he acts all wimpy. Honestly your story story while I havn't read your first couple chapters in a while I think it refreshing how you are writing it. I am glad that you are promising to cut down on the preachness of it. while I do believe in the book the dark magic has more to do with intent to do harm rather than the purpose of the spell. Still you do have a point, I am just glad you are going to include more action. Please update soon i do enjoy reading this story.Like Some Song You Can't Unlearn

This is a really interesting story and I will keep following it.
I have to agree with you that listening to Harry declaim his philosophy vis the Dark Arts is getting a bit old, although I think that his thoughts on how the Ministry and Hogwarts (fail to) work are very interesting. However, I agree: On with the action! I want to see Harry save Ginny and really get the avalanche rolling against Voldemort's return.
Maybe, just maybe, he might even be able to save Narcissa from herself.

An avalanche, eh? That's actually a good analogy, it starts with a reluctant rumbling as a tremendous mass teeters on the brink of balance then, once released, the forces of nature drive it onward, getting bigger and less controlable. leaving a wide swath of destruction in its wake.
