I didn't say he had to mourn them, it just seems he doesn't appreciate what them did for him. As for why Harry would know, I think a little thing like the blood protections Lily put in place by dieing to protect him should have been at least noticable to people like Agatha Harkness & Steven Strange. Two people that powerful would not only have detected them, but tried to find out where they came from. A simple search of Harry's memories( & we know he has them from his reaction to to the dementors in canon) would have shown exactly what had happened(don't tell that neither of them had a penseive, at the least, & if not, can you say Professor X?). I'm not saying he should let his heritage control his actions(like Dumbledore is trying to do), but he should at least respect an honor it. Also to answer your question, Yes I would mourn them. I would mourn that two people saw I'm life as more importantr than their own, & gave them that I could live. I would be humbled at that. I'd feel not only deep gratitude, but incredible respect. Why? Because, if you could sit there & tell me that you at least wouldn't feel deep, deep gratitude that they'd see fit to do that, what kind of person are you? One that I'd really not enjoy knowing. I mean, why do you think people who didn't lose anybody in the war go to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial? Or any of the other memorials that dot this country? Because they respect & honor the sacrifices that other people made so we could live free. That's exactly what James & Lily Potter did for Harry. Your trfying to tell me he's a friend of Captain America & he doesn't understand that? Pull the other one, please. Also, about pissing off Tommy Boy, Lily was muggleborn, she pissed him off simply by breathing. The rest was just icing on the cake. Also are you telling me that neither Strange nor Harkness gave him any instruction on Wizarding Britain's recent history so he could prepare? Some teachers they are. Sorry if this all makes me sound like an ass, but both my grandfathers served in the military
during war, so I have a different presective on it. Not to say you haven't, 'ause I don't know. I'm also thinkliong about going military, that might factor into to it to. All I'm saying is that they died for him, that alone should be, at the very least, be worthy of his honor & respect. The fact they were his parents should add at least a little love to the mix, or what kind of man are you saying he is? Thank you for your time.Harry Potter and The Invincible Technomage

Wow...
Another chapter full of Dumbledore-confounding. I like it. I don't usually enjoy this kind of Manipulative!Dumbledore, but just the sheer level of failure on his part is hilarious!
Also, I don't mind the flashbacks. Heck, it's kinda needed. I want to know what happened to Harry between the loss of the Dursleys and his Hogwarts letter.
Another chapter?Author's response
- Dumbles just needs to understand he isn't in charge, and Harry isn't his obedient little weapon.
- I think the consensus is the Flashbacks stay.Harry Potter and The Invincible Technomage

I love the flashbacks. I want to know how Harry came to be the person he is now. Also about Harry not caring about the Potters, I think part of it is that even though the Potters did sarafice themselves for Harry, he has grown up around superheros who have done something like that almost everyday. He is use to people saraficing themsevles to save others. Never having known his parents, he can't form emotional ties to this act because he is use to it. I don't think he is being disrepectful to them. It is just that he does not know them and he has had a great life with Tony and maybe he doen't want to disrespect Tony by fawning over what his parents did. Tony didn't have to take him in and show him love and adopt him, but he did it anyway. I think that is how Harry views things, but I could be wrong.
I just want to know are you going to do all seven years?Author's response
- I think the consensus is that the Flashbacks stay.
- It's not that Harry doesn't care about the Potters, it's that he doesn't know the Potters. He has no conscious memories of them, and his only memories of being a Potter were not pleasant ones. Since he managed to form his relationship with Tony Stark (who rescued him the way Dumbledore intended too) he has no idealized impressions of the James and Lilly, and since, at least to his POV the story everyone knows about the night they died is such utter nonsense, he doesn't even feel the guilt that canon Harry feels for their deaths
- Assuming that interest is maintained (yours and mine), yes I want this story to run through all seven years, though I'm not sure that Tommy will last that long.Harry Potter and The Invincible Technomage

I guess Dumbledore really can't seem to change his perspective in the slightest. He and Draco have that in common...
Looking forward to more.Harry Potter and The Invincible Technomage

The rudeness comment was a nice bit. The part about staying with strangers was great.
The explanation about Tony was spot on.
Thor visiting Hogwarts? OH, crap...Author's response
No, Thor is going to visit the Ministry, specifically Court Room 10. Rumor has it he might not be amused.Harry Potter and The Invincible Technomage

Well, this reader, for one, definitely loves the flashbacks and appreciates the way they illustrate how the abused Harry with the Dursleys grew into the much more confident young man we see at Hogwarts. "Arrogance"? Really, Albus, given who and what Tony Stark deals with and has dealt with, you're small potatoes in his book, even with your victory over Grendelwald, and he's got the self-confidence that goes with success; you should research people much, much better. Given that, you should also expect that Harry's going to acquire a similar attitude. To presume to try and shape circumstances to fit your preconceived plans is arrogance of the highest order. Besides, to generalize one of "Murphy's Laws of War", "No plan survives contact with reality!". Unfortunately, Dumbles has been the "top dog" for too long and doesn't realize that basic laws still apply. I'm sure that Amelia will be all too glad to help remind him and I don't think he'll appreciate further lessonings anymore than this one.
The discussion with Draco was interesting and 'twill be worth it if it, and similar discussions, actually make him think rather than parrot, though I suspect his father would disagree.
I almsot feel sorry for the Weasleys, being such pawns of Dumbles. I wonder if this kind of embarassment will wake them up? I rather doubt it given Molly's blindness on all things Dumbledore.
Finally, I liked the developing demande for commercial versions of the magic-safe electronics; methinks that the joint Patil/Stark concern is going to make themselves very, very popular with the Goblins when they start bringing in large amounts of cash. Of course, this could lead to teh Goblins "slipping" and mentioning Harry's vaults, at which point it could get real interesting all around.
Finally, that's for the mini-who's who at the end of this chapter. I recognized most, but it's good to see the info all in one place.
BTW, would attending Hogwarts, or a similar school, help Franklin Richards? I can just imagine him getting sorted into Gryffindor and joining up with the Weasley twins. Wanna bet on how many of the staff would get gray hairs from that?Author's response
- The 'arrogance' came from daring to talk back to the great and powerful Dumbledore. Albus has been the big fish in a small pond for so long he doesn't recognize a shark when he sees one.
- For the purposes of my story, Draco isn't going to learn a thing, other perhaps how to better phrase his positions. As I had Harry say, the purpose of the discussion is to sway others, and it has.
- That was the only planned appearance of the Weasleys (other than Ron, Ginny and the Twins. They aren't part of the story.
- It will be a subplot, but the merchandising of magic compatible electronics is going to make quite a few people very rich.
- Franklin's powers really wouldn't be understood by the BWS, nor helped. He is (at the time of the story) damped down so that he can't inflict major owies on the universe, quite frankly I suspect hat Frank would scare the bejeesus out of even the twins...Harry Potter and The Invincible Technomage

Albus has been the big fish in a small pond for so long he doesn't recognize a shark when he sees one.
Hmm, methinks he's going to be rather surprised, unpleasantly so, at just how much better "connected" Tony Stark is than he, Albus, every thought of being. I seriously doubt that Albus realizes just how small his pond really is.
Pity about Draco, there's some appearance of ability there if the mush his father "programmed" him with was cleaned out and he actually tried his best instead of coasting on "how it should be". Still, while his mind may not be changed, Harry's articulate enough to seriously undercut the pureblood position at Hogwarts and that will complicate matters for Tommy-boy.
Hmm, I kinda like the idea of someone/something scaring the bejeesus out of the twins, it could have some intresting effects.

I really like the mix of genre's here and the lower key the Marvel characters are here as they could have overwhelmed the Potter reality quite handily.
The change of effect tthe polt has with Harry & Hermione being in Ravenclaw sure takes things to a whole different direction. I can see How Luna's entry the next year will be 'interesting' to say the least.
Also I really would have loved Hermione with Harry and as it seems Padma. But I think a Certain unique Ravenclaw might have an eventual hold in Harry's heart.
Great yarn!

- As I've told people who want Ironman to showup and hurt people the Story is about Harry, with touches of the Marvel Mythos... The Marvel characters are window dressing, not really the story.
- Luna is going to join the crew, but not be a ship. I'm planning on this fic to not have a ship. The characters will date (each other and others), think they are deeply in love (and be wrong), and even experiment with sex, but Life Long Relationships aren't going to happen, even their final year they will only be 17-18 years old, a period of time when the vast majority of people can't pour piss out of a boot with directions written on the heel.Harry Potter and The Invincible Technomage

Greetings! Sorry I've been out of the world, I'm catching up on my fic.
*Iz ded from Harry/Tony/Daddy cute*
Really, though, you took what could have been a twee scene, and made it sweet and tender.
I vote to keep flashbacks on the island!! They are a vital part of the story, and funny as hell for the most part. (giggles at memory of Reed flinching at Harry's break in time)
The only good part of being so behind on my reading is catching up and getting bunches of chapters at once.
Excelsior, big guy!!Author's response
- Never apologize for RL. It eats us all.
- I believe the people have spoken, the Flash backs remain, though I will probably start using few of them per chapter.
