  Yes, I think you started the setup for Hermione/Luna nicely, although they will need more development considering where you left them (does any one of the three really think they deserve at least one of the others at this point?)
  
  You left it open, but I hope Dumbles didn't leave the Dursleys at Privet Drive under temporary wards. Glad you remembered to deal with Ripper.
  
  I take it Fawkes is transfering his allegience? If so, I hope you'll give some reason why the alarm was bothering him so much at some point (probably doesn't have to be detailed).

  I don't intend to make it too easy for them or have things go smoothly once they do work things out. I think there will need to be some work, compromise and a lot of honesty - and that's while there relationships are still at the early stages. If/when their relationships start to become more.. adult, then I expect things would need to be worked out again. After all, if it was easy, then everyone would be doing it.
  
  As for Dumbles, I guess we'll have to wait and see what he did.
  
  I will explain what happened (& is happening) with Fawkes in time, and I'm hoping that when the answer comes out, readers will be able to look back and think; 'yeah, I can see that.. cool'

  I really like what you've done with Luna and Hermione but I also really hope that you don't take the easy way out and make this a Luna-Harry-Hermione romance in the mode of Kuno from Ranma 1/2; "I cannot decide, so I must have them both!"
  
  I'd rather see Hermione's heart get broken. Your Luna is a much better fit for Harry, because she's the only one capable of pulling Harry out of his frequent emotional depression.
  
  It's the difference between a serious romance and a male wish fulfillment fic.

  I don't know anything about Ranma, but as the summary for this story says, this is a Harry/Luna/Hermione fic - or will be sooner or later.
  
  I must say, that I'd have to disagree about taking the easy way out by going with the multi-pairing. The easy way out would be to simply continue with Harry & Luna as they are now - they're great together.
  
  The hard way is to try and write in a believable rationale that all of them can accept for Harry, Luna & Hermione to be together.. somehow.
  
  And to try and do it without turning the fic into an angst-fest is going to be harder still, but, I'm going to do my best.

  Hey dipshit! Its simple really, you want both of the girls...and they want you! as for fawkes looks like you have a new familiar!
  
  You know I was kinda of hoping that Vernon was on the other side of that door with a shotgun and would of done the world a favor and blown that old fart away when he stepped into the door!

  Your setting them up right, adding toi the angst while briniging them closer with events still to be unfolded.
  
  a Threat to one or both girls should galvanize Harry's feelings for both!
  
  Plus with the Dursley's back in danger it will bring a fight soon.
  
  So far one of my favorite harry/Luna/Hermione stories!
  
  Please continue and ferment some new ideas for the "NEW" Golden Trio!

  Very good update. I've seen Fawkes abandon Dumbledore in favor of Harry before in stories, but never quite like this. Really great work.

  I really do like this chapter! You're doing a great job with this story. I can see the point of those who argue that you should make Harry pick one or the other, but I tend to disagree, myself. I like the direction you're taking this.
  
  Poor Dumbledore - now you've lost your pretty little Phoenix. Makes your leadership of the Order of the Phoenix kind of suspect, doesn't it?
  
  Personally, I'm taking no bets on whether or not Dumbledore will actually learn from this. We'll see!

  Dumbles really screwed the pooch. You didn't say how he left the Dursleys-- if he didn't obliviate them then they would leave again as soon as they got out of the bindings. If he left them in the bindings, he's even more senile than expected, as they'll kill Harry for what happened to them if dumbles gets him back.
  
  Loved the scene with Hermione and Luna. Looking forward to the Hermione - Harry conversation.
  
  Fawkes' fallout should be good; Harry showing up with the bird should lead to some more Ron jealousy.

  Very good part there, and the girls are at last making some moves now, and with Luna finally helping to open Hermione's eyes to the possibilities, I will be curious as to how the two of them will be able to approach Harry, who is likely thinking of not dating either of them to spare them their feelings. Liked how Moody left a message for Albus, and with Albus haven made his choice, it seems like Fawkes has made one as well, and what would that do if folks found out that bit of info.

  Hmmm.... Very interesting!!! It seems that Fawkes has decided that Dumbledore has gone bad or something. Keep up the great work! I loved what you have done so far as always. Can't wait for the next update!!

  FAWKES!!! I'm glad Harry cares more about the phoenix than Dumbledore. huggles Fawkes he needs it. So does the training start tomorrow?
