If Wishes Were Hippogriffs

Well, the last part seemed to be a bit chaotic there, with Harry doing his best, but seemed to get screwed over a bit, as he's lost his magic, right? Nice death scene for Bella, and I hope if they do meet again in the afterlife, that she will be able to be with him somehow, as he was with Mrytle in a previous fic of yours. Great fight scene, and again, the character moments are fun, from Millie and her surprise at the invite, to her and Harry at Malkin's, and the forming line. Here's to a happy ending and will be curious as to what will happen with the witches allowed magic only, and all the men who got caught up because of the bad apples in their midst.Author's response
Thank you, as always, for reading and reviewing.
Chaos is good, sometimes, and I did foreshadow the consequences in the second prophesy - but it certainly does look like Harry is Fate's bitch.
Bellatrix met a violent end, but she went down fighting the good fight. I wanted Bellatrix to have a tender moment at the end, hope it didn't disappoint.
Punishing all the wizards for the actions of a few does seem harsh, but I'm reminded of the quote attributed to Burke, "All that is required for evil to triumph if for good men to do nothing."
It's possible that not enough men (wizards) were willing to get their hands dirty - let alone bleed for a good cause. Baaaaaaa, baaaaaaaaaa!

Well that was a wonderful ending. :|Author's response
Thanx, not quite over yet, one chapter to go!

I'm not totally sure that this ending is fair to Harry and those men like him who take up arms/violence solely to protect others and to stop those who do so from evil motives; that behavior does not, IMHO, merit such a response (I'll cite the verse of The Star-Spangled Banner which starts "Oh thus be it 'ere, Where Free men shall stand..."). Still, 'twas quite the good fight scene and I can't really feel sorry those who got obiterated at the end there, though I thought what happened to Bellatrix was a nice poignant touch. IF this was the end, 'tis a good one but, again IMHO, it merits an epilogue.Author's response
Thanx, as always, for reading and reviewing.
Yep, totally unfair to Harry and all the men who did take up arms against evil. But remember what the Dread Pirate Roberts told Princess Buttercup. . .
Bellatrix is both the product and the victim of her creator(s), I wanted to give her a good end.
Tis’ not quite the end, one chapter to go – look for it next weekend.

I found this chapter to be very dissatisfying. All of Harry's efforts were for nothing. He has lost everything and frankly, this chapter's ending has pissed me off. This is probably the last chapter of this story I will read. I do not like reading stories where the hero is so thoroughly fucked over.
It was a fun ride while it lasted (even if the story had too much smut).Author's response
As always, thanx for reading and reviewing.
Well, if you don’t plan to read the last chapter you probably won’t read my response to your review, just in case, though, let me quote the great Yogi Berra.
“It ain’t over till it’s over.”

I'll just point out that if I was Harry in this instance in the next chapter I'd be like ""WHAT" no "MAGIC" - kill me now -- I don't know any other way to live -- kill me now"
otherwise it's yeah all "my/our" hard work gone --
or take my to the 'in-between' so I can LIVE.
yeah the ending of this chapter sucks for wizards .. I don't see how any wizard currently in school and those who've been out for "DECADES" will re-act to no longer having magic --- and in this case can they still 'make' potions -- if they can then I can see every wizard destroying everyone else because they can't do magic anymore.
bye

Thanx for reading and reviewing.
If Harry seems sanguine about losing his magic, remember, it’s not like the magical world has been all wonderful, sweetness and light toward our favorite hero – he might be thinking, “Kewl, no more of the shit that comes with being a world-famous wizard!”
As far as the other wizards, all I can say is, don’t piss off the witches!

Another great chapter, alhtough Harry does seem to get the short end of the stick by losing his magic. I am really glad that you set up the fight with Riddle quickly, one of the things I hate the most is when both Harry and him are super powered, but the author keeps dragging on the story withou a final conclusion. Can't wait to read more, update soon!!!Author's response
Thanx, there will be a final chapter, look for it next weekend.
In this review you’ve hit the nail on the proverbial head – Harry seems to get the short end of the stick.
All will be revealed in the Final Chapter!

How can you foreshadow with something that was stuck in an author's note?

That has got to be the most flawed piece of logic I've ever heard(read)! Women(witches) are just as guilty as their male counterparts of doing nothing.
One of two things has to happen in the next chapter to remove the taint of this chapter from the story. Either magic is immediately restored to all or it is removed from everyone. Anything else and I'll just forget that this chapter and the next ever happened and go on believing that the story was abandoned.
Too bad too since I was really enjoying this story. :(Author's response
Thanx for reading and reviewing.
The foreshadowing was in the second prophesy, revealed to Minerva and Filius, where the coven must "destroy magic in order to save it."
Patience, grasshopper, wait for the Final Chapter.

I really don't want to add to the previous reviews negativity but if it's there, there must be a reason, no?
This has been an awesome story so far but the end of this chapter really bugs me for some reason. Maybe it's the extreme feminist overtnes, then again maybe not.
Yes, the wizarding world is very male chauvinistic, but should have ALL the wizards in the world lost their magic because of a Dark Lord and his summoned god of Chaos. Voldemort was not the only Dark Lord in existence and now with all the women holding the power there definitely will be Dark Ladies. The Coven can only do so much with only 21 witches and a goddess of Sex, despite their training. Absolute power, etc.
I will gladly wait for the final chapter and hope that Fate (that bitch) finally give Harry his due.If Wishes Were Hippogriffs

I hope this has given you some insight into where all the negative reviews are coming from. I look forward to the final chapter in this tale.Author's response
Thank you for reading and reviewing, the end of this chapter did what it was designed to do, set Harry, and all my readers, up for the last chapter. Some people haven’t quite gotten the concept yet, but I am patient, I can wait. Perhaps the next Dark Mage will be a Witch, time will tell.
