The Acts Of Betrayal

Eh, no, I'm not joking. I don't remember the exact story, but Dumbles was setting Harry up to be married to Snape and Harry managed to turn things around so that Dumbles and Tommy got married to each other. 'Twas actually fairly amusing and ended with both Lucius and Severus rather admiring Harry's Slytherin side.Author's response

good chapter!
unspeakables = employees of the ministry of magic
unmentionables = an archaic way of referring to ones underwear
thanks for the laugh with this one! since you did it twice i'll assume it was intentional but i'm surprised no one else said anything...
Author's response
- Everyone knows the Unmentionables are the ultra secret leadership of the Unspeakables...
- That's my story and I'm sticking to it.The Acts Of Betrayal

You know if he wasn't Snape I'd feel sorry for Snivelous. Dumbledore is going to get a very short sharp shock very soon. I can't wait. evil grinThe Acts Of Betrayal

Hmmmm....so Dumbles finally showed a little smarts when he spoke to Snivellus, did he? Of course, his later conversation with Harry, Hermione and Daphne proved that the one working brain cell faded fast. And of course, it wouldn't occur to him that they'd gather the evidence and give it to Amelia Bones ASAP. Honestly, is he just crazy, stupid, or both? As for Snivellous, he's got quite the dance card wating for him, doesn't he? Between McGonagall and Flitwick he's toast from jump street, and if you add in the other teachers they might not find enough to burn, scatter and sow the ashes with salt. I'm looking forward to the carnage...er, school restructuring. I loved seeing how Hermione and Daphne explained the new realities to Draco.....which proves that he can be taught. Of course, he'll probably whine to Snape, but then rapists should get screwed together and the whole pack of them deserve it big time. I'm sorry for Arthur, but I've got the feeling that as soon as he has all the fact in Molly will be out of the family, or strangled, depending on whether Hermione's parents or Arthur get to her first. I can understand that Harry would help Ginny and Ron for their father's sake and in memory of thier friendship.....and it's that same decency that Dumbles, Voldy, and their minions never understood and is what's going to fix them eventually. Many thanks for this chapter, and as always, the next is anticipated with gusto! Thanks also for the peeks at Luna and Justin, and Neville and Hannah!Author's response
- Dumbles just believes his own press, and that his view of 'the greater good' is the only interpretation. That and his views of propriety hale from his upbringing in the Victorian era where it was only rape if her father was rich.
-It's going to be unpleasant to be Severus for a while (the rest of his life?) Minerva has called dibs, but Filius might just ignore her call...
- Draco did in fact survive the interview, and will be whimpering to Snape, but Severus is going to be having his own problems.
- Molly is going to have to be scheduling some travel arrangements, yes.
- Justin has gotten very lucky. He just doesn't know it yet. Neville has also gotten lucky, but he does know it.The Acts Of Betrayal

The one thing everyone's forgetting about Snape's dance card: Remember what Harry said about if Hermione and Daphne found out he'd touched any of the girls--which Tracy provided. Filius, Minerva and the rest of the staff are going to have to move PDQ if there's going to be any Snape left for them to dance with; they may have to settle for DD as second prize. The Acts Of Betrayal

disillusioned by the dissolution of their marriage, Lucius tried to feed his delusion that spellcheckers work.

I have fallen in love with your writing, not only this story but others as well.
This particular sentence needs something though...it just isn't right:
"In deed Min. I am having trouble believing it, but considering the source..." Filius Flitwick was as angry. "This is a reflection on us all." This from a man who regularly demonstrated to the occasional student (usually but not always, Slytherin) not to mistake stature for power was furious.
Could I suggest:
This from a man who regularly demonstrated to the occasional student (usually but not always, Slytherin) not to mistake stature for power; he was furious.

- Fixing it now. ThanksThe Acts Of Betrayal

Minor editting quibble:
"I would prefer that neither of you don't go out alone." should be "I would prefer that neither of you go out alone."Author's response
Which appears to need to remain left alone... At least until the next time I upload a chapter. Appearantly if I edit a chapter, Ficwad sends out update alerts, and causes no end of confusion. The Acts Of Betrayal

Once again I've received an email alert for a new chapter, the inro at the beginning of the story says it was updated on 02/05/2008, but the last chapter up is from 1/22. I know it's not your website, so the software glitch isn't your fault, but as an author maybe you'll have better luck rattling the webmaster's cage over the problem. Very frustrating it is, especially when one is waiting with baited breath(the result of anchovy pizza) for the next installment. Thanks for a great tale so far!Author's response
- My apologies to everyone that got an update alert. I had a grammatical error pointed out and I corrected it without realizing that doing so would sent out update alerts. Won't be doing that anymore. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll be repeating this to everyone who asked about the update, because I don't know if these responses are emailed or not...
